Apparently it was considered a state secret on reddit, lol, but here's the write-up by DoC . If you join using the app you won't have to be on the waiting list (at least for now). Until you join you won't know what's available to you, for me the only thing available in my area is 5% back at Office Depot and local restaurants I don't go to (except for one to be fair- but it burned down in a freak fire right before the Holidays so it's obviously not open right now). Kinda crushes my soul my In-N-Out doesn't participate but it's probably better for my waistline...

they recently went from beta to open to all... so its not really a secret anymore.

Somebody on r/churning is trying to bash DoC today on the discussion thread...hmm this probably won’t end well for that poster LOL!

Kinda fun seeing live downvote results now ...and thanks @amalone1013 it's 9:30am and I'm now craving some popcorn to go along with the dramapopcorn::
Already at -22 score LOL!!

Still no 1099s so I'm going to do my taxes by Friday.

Another one in this camp. I only got referrals from DH on the SPG Biz and Hilton Biz. But no 1099 from AMEX. I'm going forward without it. Figure if I wasn't on this forum, I wouldn't even know that AMEX/Chase were sending these and I would proceed the same as I am doing.

Nothing from Amex here either...but only had one ...20,000 Marriott points on a SPG business
It appears as though both AMEX and Chase are taking the same position:

If your AGGREGATE value of referrals was < $600 across all cards from that issuer they may not issue you a 1099. I don't have 100% proof on this, but from scouring DPs it seems like some people got a 1099 for one or the other but in all cases it was due to having more than $600 in total referrals. Obviously given that it's 2 weeks into February it seems like you are all likely in the clear here. Hopefully that is the case!

Sounds like fun!! I've only done the South Rim. I need to put the North Rim on my bucket list

I just hit MSR on my SW with DH's medical copay yesterday and should have the 50K points when the statement closes on the 22nd. I'm planning to do the same thing as you did. I have DS's flights booked on points now and will cancel and change to the companion. I didn't want to chance anything being sold out or if I missed getting the CP. Another good reason to book everyone separately. Makes stuff like this easy.

You just use your room key now for Express Pass. Makes it easy and less to carry around.
Yep. The EP is part of your room key now which is so nice not to have to keep track of a separate piece of paper since we already have our room key and AP to track. Most of the rides they just scan the key and a few have facial matching so you can’t just share your key.
Thanks that’s good to know! We aren’t sure when we’ll be back to Orlando but we’re positive we will be going for universal next time. Idk if I could completely skip over Disney but it wouldn’t be the focus of our trip

Agree with you......no one here has reported receiving one...and I doubt very much all,of ours would be lost in the mail

Same here for me. Although I added it up and I'm fairly sure I got more than $600 in Chase referrals, but oh well. DH is waiting on one form from E Trade that's supposed to be online Friday, so I'll file then.

Haha, one of my favorites!! I just used this in a Facebook post referring to some of the intelligent political leaders in my state (for those of you without a spreadsheet, I'm in Virginia...)

Looking for opinions.

DHs oldest card is a secured Capital One Platinum Mastercard with a $19 Annual Fee. No rewards/benefits. Opened Jan 2014. To get the AF refunded he needs to cancel it by Sunday. Or he can product change it, with the options being:
  • Venture One: 1.25 miles/$ on everything, no AF
  • Quicksilver One: 1.5% cashback on everything, keep $19 AF (vs $39 AF listed on website, looks like it's basically a secured version of the Quicksliver card)
I just don't know how badly he needs this card for his credit score/age of accounts. Other accounts, ignoring Biz, are:

Best Buy - opened 1/2014, closed 3/2017
Kohl's - opened 4/2014
Discover It - opened 4/2014
Sears - opened 9/2014, closed 6/2018
Sears - opened 9/2014
Jared - opened 1/2015, closed 12/2018
BoA Cash Rewards - opened 2/2015
First Bank Visa - opened 11/2015, closed 12/2018
Arrival Plus - opened 3/2016
Disney Visa - opened 8/216
SPG Personal - opened 8/2016
CSR - opened 8/2017
SPG Lux - opened 8/2018
SW Priority - opened 11/2018

Obviously the man was a mess of opening store cards before I got involved (and the Bank Visa which was never used, because he believed the teller who told him store CCs and his Discover/BoA weren't good enough to build credit to buy a house, he needed a bank CC too - I was a bit grumpy when we started churning and I had to include that in his 5/24 count).

He's got the Discover it opened just a few months later, so that CapOne card means nothing. Plus it'll age on his CR for up to 10 years so you wouldn't have to worry about it anyway for quite some time. I'd only keep it if you would actually use the Venture One card.. and keeping the sock drawer warm is probably not a good use in this case. Unless CapOne has some kind of relationship rule that helps get the better cards later, but it's so hard to tell with them. I swear they use a dart board for approvals.

I won't lie, I was sort of secretly hoping they would close it... but I guess they were happy to take $19 a year even with no actual spend.

Yep, CapOne is happy to take your money anyway they can get it, even if they're not entitled to it in the first place. (nope, not still bitter :p) After a decent screw up years back with one of hubby's cards we banned them from the house, but they keep worming their way back in by buying people. Hubby now has at least 2 but possibly 3, QS cards (no AF) from conversions of other products that got bought and I'm still mourning the ING buyout for our joint accounts. As long as you keep paying the AF I think that counts as activity and so it'll go in perpetuity AFAIK.

I would consider waiting. Chase is sending out corrected 1099s. What they'll correct we don't know for sure, we do know there have been some errors with Chase beyond the known $5 = $500 debacle. For instance I know they screwed up one of my parent's 1099s (they referred 3 people to the CIP and got a 1099 for $550). Since you're fairly sure you got more than $600 might want to wait to see how the reports on corrected 1099s come out.

Now that I owe a little instead of getting a little back I’m going to happily sit tight until April LOL!

My In-n-Out doesn't show on the app, but I do get credit for it. Between that, Target and Starbucks I'm really enjoying Pei. Every 5 transactions gets a 50pt bonus. When I added my accounts, because my daughter's accounts are still linked to mine as a student account, all of hers were also added so she's earning for me as well.

Ugh. I'm so tired of staring at this dumb student loan I want to pay off lol.

I always double check Amex offers are still in my account before using them. I know from all the reports today the SPG cards images made the changeover. Despite this I checked for an offer on my SPG personal and PANIC!! The card is GONE!!!.... no, it's just ugly now. Offers are safe but my eyes are scarred.

ETA: OMG the horrid orange showing the points earned this year- Amex must hate all their card holders. They're doing this on purpose. The color is just so... so... ew!!!

That makes sense them paying a tech fee. There are a lot of low income families here that probably wouldn’t be able to pay the fee. I’m guessing your district has a way to help those families though.
Yes, free and reduced lunchers receive support.
