If it’s anything like cashing out AA miles, you might receive Disney gift cards in the mail.
Thanks. This is probably actually a good thing. It will keep me from using points for Disney GCs. 😯 I don't really need to; trying to pay all my dvc dues this year with earned gift cards (swagbucks, etc). I sometimes dig into Discover It cashback when I am short for the month. Just want another option if needed.

Went ahead and did a Delta Vacation package. 4 nights at Hard Rock Club Level for 3 adults and 2 children. Also got a 2 Day park-to-park ticket for mother-in-law since she's coming with (we already have APs). All in price was ~180k. I left $40 and some change leftover and paid that with my CSR so insurance is covered.

Two suggestions if you end up booking:
1) Disney tickets can be purchased via activities at 2cpp, so that's a hell of a deal if you don't have any or are planning to bridge some APs. Here's hoping that exists when I go back to Disney this December and am getting an AP.
2) Make sure to leave a few bucks leftover to pay with your CSR or other insurance CC. Better safe than sorry.

I didn't really need another trip... but you all know how extra I am.

Did this include flights?

I’m getting slightly nervous because they’re predicting right now that it’ll come on the east coast of Florida. I told Dh we need to have a plan to leave just in case. We have friends in Georgia and I’m sure they wouldn’t mind but I need to ask them for the future just in case
You don't have to have a concrete plan, just formulate some ideas and stock up on kitty food and litter in case you end up leaving. A lot of people from south Florida (where we are) head up to Disney when big storms hit. I would do that, but we have the dog so Disney is out. I know Universal hotels allow dogs, so there's always that option (if they have rooms). But I will likely want to stay with the house just in case.

Uhm y’all know “millenial” covers people turning 38 this year right?! :rotfl:

I always felt like the generations were too wide. I mean surely a 38 year old and a 23 year okd have different takes on 9/11 for example. (I fall firmly in the middle of the generation so no bias to either end!). Who made Pew the king of these things anyway?! Haha

Okay on topic- I’m trying to lay out our strategy to finish paying off our two vacations for next year by Jan/Feb all via points. Two quick qs-

1. As long as we space 3 months between, does anyone see a problem doing Chase exclusively for the next few apps? What about mixing in Citi AA biz since Chase won’t “see” that?

2. For Chase- you can redeem for 1cpp for statement credit so I could buy WDW tickets or something for example and redeem for statement credit yes?

Just wanna make sure I am both cautious and my plan works haha

@speedyfishy ...I also say it AND literally
I say ‘literally’ all the time. It’s so embarrassing lol. My teens say it ,literally, all the time and they’ve gotten in my head. Never heard ‘extra’ as a millennial word. Gonna start paying better attention. I do eat avocado toast. I fed that to all my babies so millennials didn't invent that one 😆

I think after hurricane Matthew, Disney began allowing pets at some resorts. I thought they could be at YC for sure.

Sounds like you are in my kids age range...they were in 6th and 9th grade on 9/11...We live on Long Island and lost many friends and continue to do so as illnesses affect those fire and police who worked at the site

For Chase... space out you applications and watch credit limits as well
And yes you can either cash out or take a statement credit at 1cpp

Yeah with our two cats it’s a little hard to just pick up and go. We have friends in Georgia but it would still be a 7 1/2 hour drive. We just did a Walmart order today but are doing another one for cat food and other things. I’d like to stay in our house if possible. We bought a big generator

I don’t say literally or extra. I didn’t even know people said extra. I also don’t eat avocados at all. I don’t think I’m very millennial lol.

I was in 2nd grade during 9/11. I still remember seeing it on the tv at school and then we got out early for the day. My mom has it playing on the tv and I didn’t really understand what was going on

It was my 7th Birthday. I have really clear memories of that day. I think it’s because I was in NY. Friends from out of state don’t remember it like how SO and I do.

Oh, one time I was going through TSA at ISP and she made a comment about my birthday being 9/11. She asked if I still celebrate it. I felt funny saying I do.

Hope you can get on soon..
Definitely not a millennial but love guacamole...

Yea you were younger and fortunately didn’t realize ......Unfortunately kids knew what was going on since they knew kids in their schools who lost parents....my sister lost her brother-in-law..

..I didn’t realize until it was mentioned in that post that there were different views on 9/11.....thought everyone viewed it as a horrible event...will now have to google and see
