ok I have to ask this....doesn't sucking up hot liquids thru a straw deliver burning hot liquids to the back of your throat? Like sipping from a cup, sort of cools it while sipping.... I have never been able to drink hot liquids with a straw!
I don't drink my coffee scalding hot from a straw or not. I certainly test a small amount if it's not coffee I've made (I know the temp from my machine) before taking a big sip :D

Behind here (again) and also with all the Amazon Prime stuff. Frantically trying to catch up so I don't miss anything. I did have the Staples deal on one of my Amex cards today.

I’m not much into violence in my fiction but it doesn’t annoy me unless it is gratuitous. I found that the violence in the book served more to accurately portray the norms and dangers of the time. I’d suggest listening to it over reading it. Davina Porter, the narrator, is one of the best I’ve come across.

I actually did listen, not read. I'll try it again and see how it goes. I really wanted to love it since we were going to Scotland and I thought it would make the trip even better, but it somehow wasn't working for me.

Yeah... we refuse to have smart speakers in our home. We don't trust Amazon or Google listening in on our private conversations.

Same here. I think it's both scary and brilliant that they have managed to get people to actually pay money to give people access to their private conversations.

March can be tricky with weather, especially at Bryce since it's up much higher than Zion. Gorgeous in the snow, though! Are you hikers? Have you ever been to the Utah parks before? I like to spend 3 nights at a national park because that gives 2 full days to hike and explore and (gasp) relax and enjoy the scenery  I would add more time at Zion before more time at Bryce.
Thanks for the input!! I know, I’m a bit nervous about the weather, but I think we have decided that we’d rather take a chance than deal with 100 degrees in the summer. My problem with this trip is I am the only one in my family who is really excited to go. All I hear from DD13 is “is all we are going to do is hike?!” So while I’d say we are a hiking family they may not all agree! This will be our first time to Utah. I usually like to mix in something different with our National Parks trips, like rafting, horseback riding, zip lining, stand up paddle boarding, etc.Just so it’s not all hiking.

What’s crazy is, my wife is in tech, knows a lot of other people in tech who absolutely will not have smart speakers or devices in their homes, and a lot of those folks work on figuring out how to get the public to get more engaged with their products and willing to share more of their information.

Did you guys see they’re building a walking path between GF and MK?

Yep, I saw it. My first thought is that it's about time (or should have been built years ago. ;)

It's basically a feminist retelling of King Arthur. It was really good but is definitely not for the faint of heart as far as length goes haha.

I read the book years ago, and have the audiobook on my phone but I haven't made it through all those hours of reading yet.

Mine came mid-late afternoon yesterday, for delivery today. Was told Thursday it would be expedited.
Like how I keep calling it mine? LOL

Hopefully that means tomorrow since it was early fri.

Has anyone been able to get chat to work on Citi recently? I've tried on multiple computers over the last week and haven't been able to get it to work.
I've not been able to get it to work either over the last week, including this morning. Trying now through the app. Been waiting for awhile for an agent so not sure if this is working either.

,
I'd love to hear more about Utah. I have it planned for next March, fly into Vegas, two nights at Zion, two at Bryce, and two at the Grand Canyon, then back to Vegas. Or it seems I'm reading that people wish they had planned more time for Bryce, so I'm considering one more night at Bryce and leave off Grand Canyon and just stay in Vegas for a few nights to see a few sights and some pool time.

I'd second what others have said about going with CSP for you to get the referral and then PC DH CSP to the CSR. Or are you into business cards? Anything that could qualify? It doesn't get much better than 80,000 for the CIP right now. I know my plan was to have DH get a CSP with a referral from me, but I'm better off just continuing to get multiple CIPs.

We flew into Vegas and did the opposite loop. I don’t think it matters which way you go, it just worked out which way we could get campsites. We did 2 nights Grand Canyon, 2 nights arches/Moab , 3 nights Bryce (one of those nights was a hotel, cleanup, pool time for kids) and 1 night Zion, 1 night Vegas. Our kids are young so depending on your travel group may change opinions.
Our favorites were 1.Zion 2.Arches 3.Bryce 4. Grand Canyon. We LOVED Zion but it was extremely crowded and some of the best hikes the kids needed to be a bit bigger for. Arches was beautiful and had great hikes for the kids. I agree with another poster that in March your weather will probably be the best at Zion and Arches as it will be a bit warmer. Bryce was lovely and the queens Garden to Navajo Loop into the Canyon was really neat but i could see where it would be chilly in March. It got down into the 40s at night last week. Obviously was warmer during the day.

I would say we were least impressed with the Grand Canyon. It was neat don’t get me wrong, but there weren’t any hikes the kids could do so short of looking at it, and touring the visitor center, it could be done in a couple hours. I don’t know if it’s worth the nearly 4 hour drive. I’m glad I saw it but I wouldn’t have to go back anytime soon. We did the south rim. I’m happy to answer any other questions!

It’s time to book flights for Europe next summer. I’ve got all our United miles in place for 4 economy tickets. But I have a question for the experienced international travelers. At what airports will we need to allow extra time for connections? Say for an itinerary of CMH- IAD - EDI, is 1 hr 30 min enough in IAD? Maybe we should allow longer in case of a problem with our first flight? Usually I would go with that for a domestic flight, but thinking maybe more time would be better for international? More time needed coming home as well if we layover in Europe?

I like to have at least a 2 hour cushion at home and like to have at least hours overseas.

Anyone get anything today? I feel bad I crossed a picket line but I got the American Eagle giftcard.
I've not ordered anything from Amazon (only my makeup from Saks). I've been checking since last night when the deals went live and I've not seen anything remotely tempting from Amazon :confused3 I guess this is good for my wallet...

I did get an Apple watch for my b-day and now I'm freaked out it's listening to everything I say and do
