Hyatt is having a pretty good deal on purchasing points. You get 40% more points. You could get 50k points for 816.00. If you buy 50k you get an extra 22k and it's around 1200. Not a bad deal especially if you're trying to figure out a way to put more spend on MSR. Is that considered "gaming" by Amex standards? Since Hyatt has fixed point rates that 50k could be worth a lot more than 816.00 It just depends on the hotel and the time of year you are using them. I just used 36k points and the cash value was 900.00. I'm 9k points short from booking 2 nights at the Churchill in London. It will cost me 168.00 to buy those points. Two nights at the Churchill is 50k and cost 900 usd. I'm mulling over wether I should by more points.

I didn't realize anyone from this thread was there the same time as me. We should've had a dischurners meet. I checked out Thurs from a 7 night stay. What building were you?

We were in Hawaii building. I got a great deal so we opted for club level. It was awesome. Didn't realize you were there at the same time. We stayed Friday to Saturday. Which building were you in? Dang, I should have paid more attention. Then I could have come here and said "I got to meet THE disneymagicgirl!!"

Has anyone done Yellowstone? Lookin for tips and suggestions!

We go to Yellowstone every couple years...it is a road trip for us. I think it would depend if where you are flying in. Basically you can go through Jackson, Wyoming or West Yellowstone, Montana. Yellowstone is HUGE. My understanding is that to stay at the hotels inside the park you have to reserve super early. It will be a lot of driving. Last trip we were in West Yellowstone. A lot smaller and less commercial than Jackson and the entrance to the park is right there. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express and then redeemed UR points for a cabin. (If you care I can look up the name and let you know). We were going to do a road trip this summer to South Dakota but not sure about vacation time so it might be another Yellowstone year.

Did anyone try for the Daily Getaways Hyatt points? Did anyone successfully purchase points? I played with the idea, but I couldn't be at my computer at 1 pm ET. Besides, I figured they'd be snapped up in a second by bots.

We considered it for a few moments today. But then decided not to tie up funds on points that would be sitting there with no immediate use until well after next year.

OMG! This is SO on the 5 year plan. I thought the seaplane transfers at over $500 pp were bad for the Conrad Maldives. The speedboat transfers at the new Waldorf Maldives are $912 pp! :faint: I decided to go see what info has been posted on Flyer Talk. On the upside, it seems like the upgrade to a reef villa is less than upgrade to the over water villas. On the down side a standard award room is 120k points per night. Sheesh!

Way too busy day today (stupid work) but I did manage to call Amex about my pending Delta Gold Biz application. Transferred once to learn to my surprise (not) that the only problem with the application was that I already had the 5 credit cards. She said “pick one to cancel and you can be approved.” I picked the Bonvoy Biz. It is now showing as cancelled on app. It also shows “pending balance” for the $95 annual fee. Any insight over whether or not that will come off or if I will need to try to chat tomorrow?

They said they would expedite the new card. Fingers crossed they do. I guess I have trust issues!

Yes, I think so. Disney and Royal Caribbean are our main vacations so I don't think it will be useful to us. I really like my Barclay card because I can redeem it on any sort of travel. It will be for my husband who is an authorized user on my card, so I don't even know if he can get his own card. Also, preferably it should be in the company name, which I don't know if I can do on a Barclay card. I will keep looking :)
Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse for you, but I just wanted to point out that Chase UR points can be redeemed as cash at 1 cent per point straight into your bank account to use for anything. Since you're speaking of a company card I think you were asking about the CIP? Those 80,000 bonus points for the CIP are worth $800 cash. You redeem that as a statement credit or deposit it in the bank without having to wait for a travel charge and no minimum redemption amount - redeem 1 pt for a penny if you really wanted to.

If you can use the travel portal/service to book your trip, the travel portal will give you a slightly greater value on your points as we've been discussing with the cruises today. But it's not required to use it to use your points!

The CIP sign up bonus gives at least a 14% return on spend after the annual fee. I'm not as familiar with Barclays but I think you are right - I don't believe they have a general business card, the only biz cards I'm aware of are for airline points. So I can't compare directly but as far as I am aware you do get the same 1 cpp redemption on the Arrival if you redeem for travel but it's a lower sign up bonus for the same spend am I correct? But probably roughly a similar return to the CIP except it'd be under your company like you are looking for.

Have you looked into the category bonus points on the CIP? Barclays is a straight 2x points on every purchase, yes? CIP would be a little different in they have 3x categories and everything else is 1x so depending on your spend it could even out the same (or not, have to run numbers) What makes the UR points program popular is they have multiple UR earning cards and all points can be transferred and pooled into other UR accounts. This gives you a family of earning cards each with their own strengths and sign up bonuses. If you got all 3 Ink cards, which all earn UR points despite some being called cashback cards, just the sign up bonuses are worth $1,800 cash. And any one of the cards can be cashed out at that 1 cpp value if you decide not to pool them for other uses.

If that sounds a little better for your use we'd be happy to discuss each card further if you'd like.

Dh Barclays BIZ and my employee card came today. We shall see if I can activate and get them to work tomorrow!
I'll be there with you because mine came too! Plus my mickey waffle maker :lovestruc
SLC, UT. Where you can try but ultimately you are ultimately a #deltahostage.
 ya know, his other delta points are from a work trip to reno... connecting they SLC...

Personal. I think we can make better use of the Uber credit. And support link! Does that mean I lose my shun corner crown? Is the Plat expedited automatically?
Yes, I'm guessing it'll arrive on Wednesday.
Lain's timeline is spot on! I see a UPS next day air scheduled for tomorrow with my Plat after being approved Sun PM/Mon AM

Those cruise credits, I believe, can only be used to book a cruise with Princess (At least that is how it works with NCL). I am not sure if a Chase TA would be able to apply them to your account if you book directly with Chase. That is why I always book with NCL first. This is another question I need to try to remember to ask!
TAs can use your cruise certs to book your trip, you don't have to go straight to the cruise line first. In the T&C for them it says to book with cruise line or your travel professional to redeem - at least for sure NCL, DCL, and Princess that we've bought them from. Sounds like you have a plan so it doesn't hurt doing it that way, just thought I'd mention it in case it's ever helpful for the future.

UGH same!!! Doesn't work know that we have so many things planned that we need to do during business operating hours?? I just finished something "urgent" about an hour ago because someone needs it for an 11am meeting tomorrow blah blah... They're lucky I am a night owl HAHA

Hoping to have that shiny new Amex in my hands tomorrow :D which will coincide with me needing to place a deposit on a US Adventures by Disney. I have the vacation held right now, but need to call back within 72-hours to place the initial deposit.

Should I throw the deposit on my CSR or the new Plat? I plan on paying the remaining balance with Disney gift cards. I should be fine with the MSR if its not on it (wasn't part of the original plan). I am not sure if the CSR will offer better "protection" and upset Amex less because I will have a $900 charge the day my physical card arrives. That is not my normal spend and I don't want to upset the RAT 🐀

You guys!!! I got an email today from the theatre where Hamilton is playing in SF about seats for weekday shows this summer for $85! Yds and I will be seeing it in August in right-side orchestra seats that normally cost $200!!:banana::banana: I'm so excited!

This is the link from the email, but it says that you have to click from the email, so if anyone is interested and this link doesn't work, pm me and I'll forward the email to you.

Thank you for chiming in on this! Yours is the first DP I've heard of that could do that, so it prompted me to go dig further (I've searched before on the BoA website for "add external account" and didn't find anything useful). I did find a way to link my checking account, and have set up trial deposits to verify the account with BoA! Thanks!

@WVMomof3 I went back and edited my post. Please mentally erase my complaint about BoA in this regard. Sorry about that!
Late to the party but my BOA TR card is linked to my Chase checking, only sometimes it doesn’t work. Honestly BOA’s website is not Barclays Biz bad, but it’s glitchy. Sometimes I log in to pay and there’s no account linked to pick from. So weird. I pay my electric bill thru MyCheckFree.com (no other way to schedule:( ) so I added BOA which I use when their website gets all wacky on me.

Ok So I am not sure what the problem is but I had to call to "verify" this CIP and the automated system had to transfer me to someone else, who had to transfer me AGAIN, to someone who basically asked all the "security verification" questions all over again! Anyone else experienced this? Is this normal for a business card or did I screw something up somewhere?

@CyndiLouWho its AWFUL! Just dealt with an issue with them tonight where an autopay got kicked back to the biller for who knows why and yet is still showing as a charge...

(Fortunately the biller erased the late fee/error on their end and let us just pay it via phone. We gave up on BOA via phone after 1 hour on hold so I guess thats a game to play tomorrow).

I had the same issue with my first Chase business card. It declined me on the website and said to call. When I called I got someone for personal cards/accounts, transferred to business person and the rest is history. I think you should be fine :)
