Hyatt is having a pretty good deal on purchasing points. You get 40% more points. You could get 50k points for 816.00. If you buy 50k you get an extra 22k and it's around 1200. Not a bad deal especially if you're trying to figure out a way to put more spend on MSR. Is that considered "gaming" by Amex standards? Since Hyatt has fixed point rates that 50k could be worth a lot more than 816.00 It just depends on the hotel and the time of year you are using them. I just used 36k points and the cash value was 900.00. I'm 9k points short from booking 2 nights at the Churchill in London. It will cost me 168.00 to buy those points. Two nights at the Churchill is 50k and cost 900 usd. I'm mulling over wether I should by more points.
I decided to go see what info has been posted on Flyer Talk. On the upside, it seems like the upgrade to a reef villa is less than upgrade to the over water villas. On the down side a standard award room is 120k points per night. Sheesh!
ya know, his other delta points are from a work trip to reno... connecting they SLC...
) so I added BOA which I use when their website gets all wacky on me.
