I love Airtran!

I am not a frequent flyer and I am currently booked on Airtran LAX to MKE. After checking my flights today-the flight details are totally different. Instead of a non-stop flight taking 4 hours, it now had a stop in Atlanta and takes almost 8 hours. :headache:

I specifically picked this flight because it was non-stop and the times will work well for my family. For all you Airtran experts out there, what are my options now? Is it possible that the schedule will change back to the original?

I thought I had all my flights figured out-but I guess not.

If there are other non-stops, you can ask them to put you one of those flights. If there are no non-stops and there are no acceptable connecting flights, you can ask for a refund. However, I would do that only if you find a better flight at an acceptable price on another airline.

AirTran could put the non-stop flight back, as they did for my trip last December - but I wouldn't count on it. How soon are you traveling?

It appears that Airtran is totally re-working their MKE schedules. There was a 6am flight to MSP-MCO through MKE. The flight is now a 1048am departure and they have reworked the MKE-MCO legs as well..... this happened over the last few days and fares were not even loaded for those routes until last night or this morning......

I would keep an eye on the MKE flights to see what happens, but in the meantime, I would find a flight that works for you. If flying through ATL is not an option (and it is a stupid one to have to fly past MKE just to come back), I would ask for a total refund, which they will do.

Is there another Airtran nonstop flight that you can take instead? If so, call Airtran and ask for it. Don't be shy (or embarassed :rotfl:) as the person you get on the phone is there to help you.

Thank you all so much for the replies.

We are not flying until the end of January, so I will watch the flights for a little while. They have another non-stop flight but it leaves much earlier in the day and I was hoping to spend some time in DL before we had to fly out. SW is another option - no non-stop flights but much shorter options than 8 hours. I just don't think the kids are going to like that much travel time and I might be a little crabby also. :rolleyes1

Airtran is selling out to Southwest. Bleech. Already did this program once with Midwest dropping their good service and ending up a part of Frontier. Now I have to live through that again with Airtran dropping their business class/assigned seats to join the SW cattle call coach seats.

I no longer have a favorite airline. This really sucks.
