This! I was just at DL and readjusting to the old system was very difficult. I never managed to pull more than 2 or 3 FPs a d ay, but running all over the park, plus finding that a currently issuing return time overlaps my lunch ADR or another ride was frustrating. FP+ could use a tweak (I really don't think they needed to add it to EVERY ride; some don't need it), but overall it's an improvement.
I hadn't thought about this before (I was always the "FP runner"), but I can see where a lot of kids would be confused/disappointed by this aspect of old FP.No running around collecting paper FP and confusing my littlest one by going over to a ride we were not going to get on until later.
I like FP+ too, but it was nice to be a "super-user" (i.e. abuser) of old FP and pull like 20 in one day.
You forgot:
- changed their RD experience
- ruined the touring plans they have used for years
- made all the other ride lines 7,000 times longer
- kills puppies for sport
- bathes in the blood of the innocent
- invented telemarketing and
- was on the Grassy Knoll in Dallas in 1963.
My only issues are the tiering and not being able to get FP 3+ using the app/web page.
But overall, we too agree that it's better than sending the FP runner and waiting to hear what the time is so that we can plan the rest of our day!
I don't like the tiering either...trouble is the solution is more rides...and while rumor points to HS getting more soon, I haven't heard much for EPCOT other than an third theater for Soarin, and reopening Malestrum as Frozen...of course the new Frozen ride will be a tier 1 ride...they would need to build another couple new rides in order to drop the tiers or else EVERYONE would FP+ Soarin, TT, and Frozen.
The app issue, is probably something we will see changed sooner. Afterall, we are not even a full year into the full roll-out, maybe they wanted to get the system running before adding the pinstriping.
I think some people forget that they had to have a runner. Maybe they weren't the person that had to run around. Or maybe they were, but they didn't mind that they weren't with their family while they were doing it. I don't know.
What I do know is that I like the fact that my husband can now tour with me.
