having second and third thoughts :confused3

we are coming from Wisconsin, where we have not felt any temps over 40 degrees in about 3 months.
when i look at Accuweather, i see the lows at night are mid to upper 40's.
that led me to believe we will be very comfy during the day
we are in Orlando from 2/5 - 2/13.
i have packed for myself and DD9 ( each of us have)
3 shorts
3 t-shirts
1 pants
socks and undies (3)
2 swimsuits
zip-up sweatshirt
1 pair of sandals
tennis shoes (wearing when we leave home)
* we will be coming down in winter clothes, and will have a laundry center in our condo, i do plan on doing laundry at least once.
DD17 and DH pack themselves, but i am suggesting pretty close to what i have for Myself and DD9.

how does that sound?

Maybe add a long sleeve tshirt/jersey and a lightweight sweater? Maybe a pair of capris for the females?

Some families seem to pack a suitcase for each member, but I'd suggest you not do that. If Dad has all his clothes in one suitcase and that one gets lost/delayed en-route, Dad has nothing to wear. But if you distribute everybody's clothes among all the suitcases, then you (and Dad) are covered. :3dglasses

I would suggest a sweatshirt for the entire family, for the evenings and the early mornings. The sun is warm in Feb but not hot, like in the summer months and there is not nearly the humidity as in other months. We usually travel to Florida from MN in early Feb. and its very comfortable most days, but we usually make good use out of our sweatshirts and long sleeve t's. I suggest layering when you leave for the parks, the rides can get cool when you are flying through the air.

Also I would add a couple more pairs of undies esp. for your dd and ds, when you are changing in and out of swimsuits you can go through undies pretty fast. You don't want to be doing laundry every day!

Have a wonderful time

We have been in Feb and the weather fluctuates. Layering is the only way to go! The mornings were pretty chilly for us (it happened to be a cold snap in the area) but we were okay with a sweatshirt over our t-shirts and shorts most days. If I recall, it was in the mid-60's most days some days got over 70.

We are going in 15 days (:cool1: ) and I'm planning to pack the following for myself:

2 capris
1 jeans (and 1 to wear down)
2 shorts (1 dressier pair for dinner)
1 casual black skirt that can be dressed up for dinner
4-5 tanks (I layer)
2 tshirts
2 long sleeves
1 "dressier" sweater for dinner
1 sweatshirt (maybe 2)
2 flip flops
1 swimsuit
1 pair sandals
sneakers (which I'll wear down)
jammies, under garmets, etc.

If my DD8 were coming with me, she'd be getting about the same.

Hopefully this will all fit in my carry-on!

Fellow Cheesehead here...we were at WDW last January. There was no swimming by us. And we wear shorts when it is 50. Even though the pool was heated we didn't swim. I think the only way that would have happened would be if it was indoor.
We dressed in layers. The kids wore jeans almost everyday we were there. Then tshirt and sweatshirt. I packed shorts just in case, but I don't think they ever changed into them. It would start out in the upper 40's in the am and then warm up to mid 60's. This was the last week of January last year. I usually run warm so I wore capris and a tshirt and my zip up sweatshirt. I wore the sweatshirt at night and first thing in the am. We didn't bring sandles either, but we normally don't anyways.
So after all of that, my tip would be plan on dressing in layers.

Have fun!

Sarah

We live in MN, so I know what you mean about the weather. We went Easter week last year and we wore tshirts and light jackets every day. We took them off mid day but they were back on by dinner time. It looks like all of our pics were taken on the same day with the same jacket/capris on! :) I would agree with dressing in layers. Have fun!!!!

I'd wait until the 10 day forecast is out on weather.com for Orlando.

I usually check that. Last year we were there late Jan to Feb. 5 and we went to a water park one day, and swam a couple of times. We are from the NorthEast and typically wear shorts in the mid fifties.

If anyone has any of those pants that zip off to shorts would be handy:thumbsup2 I am bringing capri's too
