I Kicked it I Played it and now..Wheeling & Dealing at the WL final 9/9 p87/88

That last picture is fabulous! What beautiful F&G pictures, I want to go SO badly during that time of year! I don't see it happening but oh, I want!

Thanks! We were smiling pretty for the FP guy!

I need a F&G do-over because I only visited 1/4 of the world showcase during this trip!

How lucky that you had room for 4 feet of bubble wrap and your amazing flower made it home intact. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2

I have to admit I just can't imagine LeCellier for lunch. I'd need to go straight back to the resort and take a nap.

Not that I've ever eaten there...I'm in THAT club. :rotfl:

THAT club! :rotfl2:

I am eating lunch there again in September so my friend Jen can get out of THAT club, but I agree that it is a difficult lunch because it is a lot of food! Plus I don't like taking 1 1/2 hrs to eat lunch during the middle of the day. Maybe we weren't there that long - but it felt long!

uh oh....lost car?

Would you expect anything less???????

Can't wait to see the flower; it sounds cool! Lunch sounds good, mojito sorbet? Yum!

The flower IS cool and the mojito sorbet tasted just like the drink without the alcohol. It would be great in a blender with some booze!

I agree with you on the little cottage in Canada! I love it! :)

More beautiful pictures and I really like the one of the 4 of you!

I love that the flower got the vip treatment on the plane :thumbsup2

That cottage is so cute. I don't know what I like better, the cottage in Canada or the cottages in England. Its a toss-up!

Glad you like our group pics and my flower DID rock the VIP treatment.

great pics mary ellen! I still have yet to catch up on your TR but I just read the last post! LOL! I promise I'll catch up on it! Anyway, love love love all your pics from epcot! Especially those F&G ones! I love how you took a pic of the mosaic's details. can't wait to see more!

It's so hard to keep up with other people's TRs when you are trying to maintain your own. I guess you have to have a system - which I don't! :rotfl:

I'm glad you like the pics!

Love all your pics, as always! I like Living with the Land too, only Disney could take something boring (to me anyway!) and make it fun! :cool1:

You're right - when you think about the concept - one big garden - it seems boring, but LWTL is anything but!

The first time we did Le Cellier it was for lunch and it's definitely too much...it's hard enough eating it for dinner and thinking you're going to go back out into the park to have fun, lunch is just crazy! :)

Yeah - I agree - its a tough lunch. Maybe if you eat a really late lunch it wouldn't be so FILLING! :rolleyes1

The more I see your pictures the more I want a new camera! Beautiful!

.

That's exactly why I bought a new camera. I started seeing some really fabulous pictures on the DIS boards and I knew I wanted to take my own! I am really happy I upgraded cameras. I have had so much fun so far! I take silly pictures of things around my community. It's cool!

The pics of the Land were neat to see as I've not been there since forever. The Land was closed in Sept & I think that it was our last couple of times.

I missed the land in September, too! But I really need the Seeds tour because I never feel like I see it all.

You fall asleep during my update, I some miss yours! Geeze!

Please don't take it personally. I have a bad habit of relaxing with the computer on my lap and the next thing I know.....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

It's very annoying. Then I can't remember what I was reading. I think the problem is I have to get up so early during the week, but I find myself staying up late at night - teenage son who drives = staying up LATE!

Great update!

You really, really are rockin the DSLR! I love that Water Lily picture! OMG! Fabulous!

Thanks! The water lily is my favorite picture, too! I edited them both differently, so that's why I posted both.

Sounds like you had a lovely day at Epcot with a yummy lunch at Le Cellier! How was the Prime Rib Sandwich?

It was really, really good. I am not a huge prime rib fan, but this sandwich was GREAT! I had to take 1/2 of it back to the villa. I wanted to eat it all - trust me, I did....but there was NO WAY!

BTW, I want a close up of the flower!!!!

I promise to post one.

WOW!! What gorgeous pictures from The Land and the flowers at F&G!! Simply amazing! You are doing wonderful things with that camera!!!! LOVE IT!!!!

Thank you! I so enjoy that camera! It's really been a blast. I just got adobe photoshop, but I haven't even loaded it yet. I've got to get crackin!

That last picture of all 4 of you is priceless!! VERY VERY NICE!

I am really pleased with that pic!!!!!! It was a lovely visit to Epcot!

Great update ME!! :goodvibes I just love all of your remarks regarding Denny and his great sense of direction :rotfl2: You are too much!!
Ooooh can't wait to see pictures of your fabulous, flying in the overhead bin flower!! :flower1: I am not sure if I saw that or not....I remember coveting some wind chime type of things...they were very hypnotic and it almost worked :rotfl:

I really should lay off a bit, shouldn't I?....but I can't help myself! :rotfl2:

:rotfl: It almost worked! :lmao: Great line! I can just picture it....watching the pretty wind chime, watching, watching.......STOP.....walk AWAY from the wind chime.....NOW! You have admirable will power - I am proud of you!

As we were leaving Epcot I started to drag my feet a bit. It occurred to me that this may be our last visit to Epcot during our short trip. That made me very hesitant to leave. I wanted to return to Epcot on Friday, but we had just made plans with K&T to see them. That meant no park time for me on Friday.

Good bye Epcot - I really don't want to leave you. Heck, I only visited two countries this trip - Canada and England. Great countries - Love them both, but, heck, there are quite a few more countries to explore, and we weren't going to see any of them on this trip. That made me sad. It was the F&G festival and I had missed most of the topiaries. Darn short trip! Darn trying to please everyone. Oh well - this trip wasn't just about me.

Here's our photopass picture:

I know the boys were ready to go, but Cathy and I were taking advantage of the photopass photographer and I wanted to grab a few more pictures of the topiaries.

After we left the park I kept lagging behind, trying to take pictures of Spaceship Earth and the monorail. It was blazing hot outside. It felt like last June, when my crocs were melting to the pavement. I ignored my discomfort and kept clicking the away. When I finally looked forward I noticed that Denny, Chuck, and Cathy were WAY ahead of me. I mean REALLY WAY far ahead of me. Ahem....people.....HELLO.....I DON'T THINK THE CAR IS THHHAAAAAAAT FAAAAAAAARRRRRR!

COME BACK DENNY, CHUCK, AND CATHY......You walked too far. Ugghhhhh - there was no way they could hear me. Had there been a tree around, any tree, even a twig, I would have stopped to rest under it. But there was nothing but asphalt, so I kept walking until I was finally able to wave the lost threesome down.

"We walked too far?", they asked.

"Doh. Yes you did", I replied.

Of course,I take partial responsibility for this mishap. I should have paid better attention instead of trying to take a few more monorail / parking lot pictures.

Oh ...Look.....there are a few trees in the Epcot parking lot......Who Knew?

After our little parking lot detour we set the GPS for the closest Walmart. Chuck did a drive-by and Denny and Cathy went in to pick out some breakfast items and some beverages. I, on the other hand, went to find the pharmacy. I handed the tech my Flagyl prescription with my driver license because, as we all know, my demographics were not already in the Kissimee Walmart's computer system. The good news was my Rx was on their $4 list. Well, actually, it was on their $10 list because it was over 40 pills. But that was still $10 cheaper than my regular pharmacy co-pay. They told me to check back in 25 minutes because HIPA prevented them from calling out names overhead. Drat!

So I set off to by me some cheap (ahem....I mean inexpensive) Walmart souvenirs. I got 2 jibbitz, a pin, and a Mickey key chain for a grand total of $12.99. Wow - if I lived in Orlando I would be buying nonessential Disney merchandise on a regular basis.

Finally my Rx was done. I didn't intend on starting it just yet. I wanted to see how things developed over the evening. We headed to the car and then back to WL. Our valet, Chuck, dropped us off right out front and we headed to RF for some cool lemonade while carrying our Walmart purchases. There is just something sooooooo wrong about carrying a Walmart bag through the Wilderness Lodge lobby. It definitely takes away a bit of the magic.

When we finally made it back to the villa everyone headed to their respective rooms. Everyone but me. I think I put the lap top on my lap, propped up my feet, and started checking email. In about 2 minutes I felt my eyelids starting to get heavy. I put the computer down and promptly took a cat nap. That is unusual for me so early in a trip. It takes me a few days before I can actually take an afternoon snooze. But today was different. My body easily succumbed to the urge to sleep.

When I woke up it was 445pm. I really don't remember what time it was when I feel asleep, but I did know we had tickets to the 6pm cirque du soliel and we needed to get a move on. I jumped up and started to get ready. Meanwhile, Denny and the gang were sleeping. I woke up Denny when I got out of the shower. We were both ready rather quickly. Denny stayed in the villa to wait for Cathy & Chuck and I went back to RF for another drink. On my way through the lobby I looked at my phone and noticed it was almost 5:30pm Then I remembered that WL and DTD are not that close. I quickly called Denny and told him to get everyone going. We were going to be late.

I waited in the parking lot for everyone to show up. We jumped in the car and it was 5:35. Step on it Chuck. The show starts at 6pm and its a 20 minute ride. :scared1: I could just picture people entering the theatre, finding their seat, and cozying up with some popcorn and a drink while we were still in the WL parking lot. Uggghhhh - are we going to be late?, I wondered.

I don't remember exactly what happened next. I know it involved following the GPS directions incorrectly, getting stuck at a red light, and trying to outrun a Disney bus. It also involved a little panic on my part.

So....did we make it to Cirque on time????? Stick around to find out!

Hi, loving the trip report so far! I hope the evil D never darkens your doorstep again. :) All this talk of the Outer Banks....you know I have lived in NC my whole life, 4 hours from the Outer Banks and I have NEVER been!! I don't really like the beach because I turn as red as a lobster in the sun and I don't like seafood either. Those two things come to mind when I think of the OBX. I would like to see Manteo and maybe the Wright Bros. Museum. I just may have to take a short trip there sometime! Anyway, your pictures are great, it makes me want a new camera! :rotfl:

:welcome: Ishaw

Glad you are enjoying the TR and the pictures.

I think its funny how people sometimes ignore the places in their own back yard. I do the same thing. I live 2 hrs from NYC but do you see me going there? NO. Also - DC - I really am due for a visit there.

I hope to get over to Manteo and I would like to see the Wright Bros museum. I don't mind an hr or two on the beach, but there is no way I can spend all day there. So I need plenty of other extracurricular activities!

What a cliffhanger! I would have been a nervous wreck about being late! Sure hope you made it on time!! :)

Another set of gorgeous pictures, MEK! Sorry you didn't spend more time in Epcot but there is always next time!

Sorry you got left so far back at Epcot, but your pictures are sooo worth it! :thumbsup2 Love them!

Wow, I would have been totally losing my mind at being so late for Cirque! Can't wait to hear if you made it in time...

What a cliffhanger!!!! :scared1: You can't leave us hanging like that LOL!!!! I need to know did you make it on time!!!!!!

So there are other people who get lost in the parking lots besides me YESSSS.... I have so been waiting for this day!! You can join my club now MEK!! WOOT...I'll make us t-shirts LOL :rotfl:

Once again some amazing pictures!! So breathtaking!!!

I've been lurking reading and enjoying your trip report; I love your pics of the monorail - its one of the things that are so "Disney"; I also have to give you a big pat on the back for being so generous with respect to your trip - I would have been very tempted too to turn around and run (or at least walk quickly) back into Epcot - its one of my favorite places!

I'm sorry you didn't get much time at Epcot!!! I hate that feeling!

I'm glad you were able to get you RX filled at Walmart! I can totally see what your saying about walking through WL With Walmart bags in hand taking away from the magic! LOL!!!

Yippeee for a nap but OMG you really were cutting it close getting to Cirque!

I hope you made it!

I just found this trip report and it is my absolute fav! We have so much in common (alth my camara is not as nice) including some issues with a 17 year old son. and a few doses of Flagell! I work in a hospital too and became very ill with cdiff ( in ICU for several days and I do remember the Flagell!) Did you know it should all be covered by worker's comp? I didn't until a friend of a friend who's an ER doc told my husband. I am fine and healthy now and also enjoyed a disney trip after my illness. Anyway, loving your report and the gorgeous pictures.!

Ugh! No wonder you all fell asleep after all that walking in all that heat!

Got my fingers crossed that you made it to the show! :thumbsup2

Kathy

Here's a TR I have been reading. The guy is a really good writer but he doesn't have that many followers. Take a look - its a good TR!

Thanks!!! As result of you shilling for my TR, I am now approaching 5000 views! And only 4500 of those are by me!

What little I've read of your TR I've loved. The pictures are phenomenal. I PROMISE I will read the whole thing, once I finish mine!

Love all the Photopass pictures with the four of you and then, you and Cathy!

Oh my goodness about wandering too far to the car! What does Denny do when you aren't with him???

I laughed out loud about carrying a Walmart bag through the Wilderness Lodge lobby!!! :rotfl:

Um, I will echo what others have said, "A cliffhanger??? Not fair!" ;)
