I closed the glass door of our upstairs patio when it started to rain and the cat was still out there. I have been hearing this weird noise ALL day but couldn't figure out what it was. Well, mystery solved, it was my poor cat trying to alert me that he was out in the rain! It was getting warm in the house so I went to open the patio doors and there poor Kipper was. He must have gotten wet because his fur is all spiked. I swear it was an accident, but he apparently doesn't believe me. In my defense there is a perfectly good playhouse out there that he COULD have hid in to avoid the rain...okay I am looking for a way to ease my guilt, but somehow this is not my fault! He is now under my bed and he is MAD.

aww, poor kitty.

They sure know how to make you feel guilty don't they ;)

:hyper:

I dont know if you know this, but cats hold grudges. You had better sleep with one eye open!!:cat: :crazy2:

Well, if it will make you feel any better, I killed one. It was Christmas eve and I had a house full of company and when I got home from midnight church service the cat ran out of the garage and it was about 5 degrees outside and I didn't notice that the cat had run outside because of all the company and I didn't miss him until the next day because of all the Christmas commotion...we all searched and I cried but we never saw the cat again. It's been 14 years, but I still feel guilty!

Nah, he'll be fine..

On our balcony we have these sort of prince and princess chairs for our cat and dog and they sit on them when they come outside with us. Well, one night I put the cat on her chair which is by the door and after a bit of talking I notice that bugs are starting to come out so I close the glass door. SHe has been in this chair a million times and never done anything so stupid. She jumps head first off the chair which is about three feet from the glass and dives head first right into it. I thought she broke her neck!!!. I made sure she was ok and put her back on her chair. I told my cousin, there is no way she will do that again. About one minute later all we hear is a thump and there is my pretty baby diving again. DOn't feel too bad. Things happen.

Aaw, poor kitty! I'm sure she will stop sulking in a few days!

Don't feel bad, I locked mine in the fridge for an hour and a half when she was a kitten! She was so little that we didn't see her jump in when we were cleaning up after lunch one day! After a frantic search lasting a hour and a half, my husband happened to open the door, and our she rolled!

I closed Simba's head in the sliding door once. He forgave me 5 minutes later.
:D

And who ever said that there is nothing madder then a wet hen...........never had a cat!

One time I kept hearing my cat but just could not find him. He seemed so close while I was in the kitchen, but could not find him anywhere. Everytime I looked out the back door, I did not see him. Finally, I found him. I had closed him in between the screen door and the regular door

This is the same cat who spent 3-4 hours in the refrigerator after I got up to get a glass of water at about 3am. The kitchen was dark and I kept the fridge door open to provide light while I got my drink. Since I finished the jug of water, I just shut the door on my way back to bed. Poor kitty.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one! ::yes::

When we lived in FL, we had a screened inporch with sliding doors from both the great room and the Master bedroom. It was one of those beautiful FL days, so we had the doors in the great room open, and the cats were out exploring the patio. We also had a newly acquired dog at that point, but she was at the vet that day getting fixed. So DH thinks it would be a good idea to "remind" the cats that a dog lives there too. He takes a running jump out into the patio yelling the whole time. Both cats, one right after theother head for the bedroom doors, which of course were NOT open. One after the other they both run at full speed into the closed door (even hit the same spot), bounced off, recovered, then ran in the great room doors.

I did not witness this, but DH was laughing so hard he could hardly tell me the story. Side note, DH and I had been married about 7 months, and the cats predated him!!
