Now my office mates are gonna riot...LOL...I did not mean to...I cook the small little bags, always for 1:25...for some reason, something inside scorched, and WAMMO...the office reaks...
I remember when a co-worker did that and snuck over to my desk and pretended that he didn't do it. Just played it off to everyone around us and said "ewwww who burnt the popcorn?" Then the next day there was a sign on the microwave saying to be careful and to watch the time on the microwave when making popcorn...
We have two microwaves - they cook differently. Every so often someone will put popcorn in the higher wattage one and hit the wrong amount of time. Definitely stinks up the place! The only thing worse is someone having a really fishy lunch.
I'll supply them with the torches, don't own any pitch forks. But there is a farm right down the road that probably has some........
I would be right with your office mates rioting!
News flash watch your dang popcorn especially where everyone else has to smell it!!!!!! It isn't that hard.
I like that office that told that lady to not make it, good for them. At my son's elementary the silly teachers(not word I wanted to use lol) burned it so many time that they aren't allowed to make popcorn there any more either. I find that sad -not for the teachers but that professional people could be that dumb or lazy don't know which.
Good for them, it really stops people from working. That smell is so hard to get rid of. Worse?-FISH in the microwave. We actually had a meeting and passed a rule in the office that there was to be NO FISH in the microwave.
I've done it, and also a coworker burnt hers so bad it set off the fire alarms in our corporate HQ. Fire department came out and everything for a burnt bag of popcorn.
When I was working, a co-worker heated up a shrimp dish and ate it at his desk. The dish was made 5 days earlier and was just starting to go bad. So first, shrimp, then shrimp re-heated, then iffy shrimp re-heated?
One of the staff burned popcorn in the kitchen of the hotel where I was staying in Washington. Like another poster mentioned, the fire alarm went off and the fire department had to come out and reset the alarm before it would stop. I came down to the front office and was told I had to go outside until the fire dept. came. I plopped myself down in one of the chairs and told them they would have to carry me out. I'm not a tiny person. The alarm was reset after about 45 minutes, but it was so annoying that I wasn't allowed to go back to my room until then, especially since we knew it was only burned popcorn!
For the record..I did not LEAVE the popcorn...I was standing right there, and I pulled it out as SOON as I noticed it was burnt. We have a crappy microwave...
