Ticket Upgrade Question

We have a June trip to Universal/WDW planned but have not purchased our UO tickets yet. Since the new park to park multi-day tickets now include Epic, does that mean that if we buy those and go to Epic at least once, we can no longer upgrade the tickets to Seasonal AP's? We normally go every summer and that's been our way to get 2 years use of tickets for the price of one (just scheduled the second year's trip a few weeks earlier). If that's the case, I'm wondering if we should just get the Seasonal AP and buy a 1 day pass to Epic. With the distance to get there, I'm not sure we'd actually go there more than once during our 3 night stay, but having the option would be nice. Any suggestions/help is appreciated!

Unfortunately yes, this is the case.

There is the extra 3mo promotion on APs available now, which would give you more flexibility with your second trip.
