I have not read the posts, however…

Good morning fair DISsers, I will now take the liberty of posting a short summary of events which took place "overnight" for the benefit of those of you in the Americas:goodvibes

Henry VIII was very fat. This may or may not have been revolting:eek:

Tipping may or may not be mandatory but you should always tip (or never feel obliged to tip) and what is it with the weird American tradition of not paying workers enough anyway?

Lots of husbands sat around alone last night while their wives went to salivate over an ice-cold hottie on the big screen. I think this relates in some way to blue bananas:confused3

Those who want swine flu shots can't get them, those who don't want them can't get away from them. No one seems to want the swine flu. Poor swine.

Snooty:snooty: women will still be single when they are 30 or even 50. Tina is not snooty, she wears rented bowling shoes!

Boyscouts are all evil. So are all unions and union members. Also all city governments and hobbiests. Probably all swine as well. The media sucks.

plenty of people would chagne their names if they could.

Thanksgiving and relatives. Need I say more?:confused3

It is not a good idea to suffocate your child at any age

someone went to a McDonalds and did not encounter even one bratty child, one rude adult, one bit of poop nor anyone of any age screeching. I ask you, dear readers, what is this world comming to?

Awesome! Thank you! Your condensed version not only saves time but is MUCH more entertaining I'm sure! :thumbsup2

Thank you Hadley. I definitely did not have time to read all the replies this morning :goodvibes

Ah, THIS is what we need. A Cliff Notes version of the DIS every day! :thumbsup2 :teacher: :thumbsup2 :teacher:

Thank you, thank you very much. I do try to give back to all the little people;)

Not sure who Frank is but maybe he's responsible for changing Dans tags. :confused3
I don't know about the tags, but I think Frank doesn't really hate mayonaise--he is just trying to give the condiment a bad name so he can sell more of his hot sauce.
You do remind me that I should update all the gentle readers out there that Dan is STILL a nice person and a debate as to whether or not tagbullies really do exist is still raging.

:lmao: How would I ever function in life without the DIS? This is such handy information.

Thanks for the hilarious update, Hadley. Could you do this for me every day? It's a real time saver.

Being blessed with two snowlfakes myself, I do fully understand the occasional desire to suffocate (it apllies to husbands as well):rotfl2:

eventually DD will get over the flu (10 days sick with 2 of health in between and 9 total missed days of school:eek:) and I will have to return to my life. Preferably before our vacation (we leave in 8 days and counting:woohoo:--I think DD may never see the interior of the school again:lmao:)

You forgot about if mac n' cheese should be served at Thanksgiving! Please, if you're going to give a synopsis, include everything!

Can someone tell me who "they" are? People always talk about "they" but nobody ever says who "they" are! I wonder if we should start a poll on this!

Figured I'd just break this picture out. We can always find a use for it.

I think this falls under those PSAs that the DIS is famous for. ;)

I think DD may never see the interior of the school again:lmao:)

Wasn't there a recent thread about about how children become socially stunted because of parents who take their kids out of school when sick? That it is better to send them to school, school functions and parties with the flu, so they don't miss out on everything? :scratchin

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: NEVER ask who "they" are. :scared1:

Did you ever see that old, black & white, horror movie fom the 60's called, Them? It was about giant ants in a sewer aquaduct. :scared1: Well, Them mutated into "they." :scared:

oh I missed the mac n cheese at Thanksgiving thread. Must. go. searching. I have NEVER seen mac n cheese served for Thanksgiving (not at my house, DH's family, eating out nor the two or three friends who have intvited us to join them over the year:confused3)

They--if you do not know who THEY are then you must be one of THEM:cool2:

I missed that one! I had no idea. I will promptly stick her on the train to school. She can infect the passengers as well as her classmates and teachers. it goes without saying that even if she stops getting better (almost well today--just a little dizzy and headachy still) and gets much worse and must be hospitalized I will pull her out of the hospital and board the plane to Disney as our vacation trumps everyone elses rights to health:thumbsup2

I think I missed my window of opportunity. My darling child is 19 now and I don't think I could catch her to do any damage. Although I will admit I've been tempted over the years!

Aww..Hope your dd is feeling better soon and that you have a great vacation.

Oh man! That would be one great thread. popcorn::

Thanks, she is getting there. I have only heard of H1N1 having ONE relapse so hopefully after this she will be truly well.

we could pack some peanuts for snacks on the plane and insist that we must all sit together though we did not prebuy seast nor even check in online at teh 24 hours mark. What do you think? Oh, and when we arrive we can lie about DS's age to only pay child prices, but will they give me the adult dinign plan for him anyway?

Well, I have a problem with that, since if you glitter a kitty, they just lick themselves, which leads to glitter pooh. Speaking of shiny things, we all know that the "pixie dust" at WDW is germ laden, and my child can't have any since germs are bad and you can get germs from touching them. That's why I bring my refillable mugs from 6 years ago on every trip, since they only have our family germs on them and haven't been touched by anyone who poolhopped, since that can spread germs, which is my biggest concern when visiting a vacation spot that millions of people visit.
And furthermore, with all these germs...I need a drink. What??? Don't you know alcohol is a disinfectant???? :rolleyes1 Time for a medicinal hot buttered rum.

Don't be hatin' on my glitter pooh. You know you wish yours was special and shiny like mine. :snooty:

Thank you for the summary, maybe now I can get something accomplished today.

Then, again, maybe not.

I haven't read all the posts, but I don't think it's OK to take your child out of school for a VACATION! I would NEVER do that!:snooty:

I have not read all the posts, but I predict that the thread about NYC hotel advice will evolve into a discussion about bed bugs. Somebody will post about their experience with bed bugs at a WDW resort, and of course it will result in a big argument about which WDW resort is better - Coronodo Springs or Port Orleans.

The train? Stick her on the train? Alone? With no parent to accompany her? Are you sure that's a good idea? :umbrella:

you think that because your kids are not as smart as my kids:snooty: MY kids don't even really need to be in school; they already know it all. Besides, Disney is educational:thumbsup2

DISCLAIMER: I am not opposed to taking kids out of school for vacation; I have done it. However, I would never have booked this trip had i known back when we booked it two years ago that we would be moving to Germany and i would have to pull the kids out to take it (we were homeschooling when it was booked). We booked with my best friends and are meeting them and it was just too late to chagne plans by the time we knew we were moving and that homeschooling is illegal here.

OMG! WHAT was I thinking??? The train could crash, a fellow passenger is likely to molest her, she'll forget to take out her wipes and sanatize all surface before touching them, a four year old will almost certainly poke her backpack and someone might ask her what her name is:eek: I will go with her from now on and demand to be seated next to her becuase she needs her mommy.
