I have been complaining as the years go by, how fast everything is happening. The baby I had just yesterday is 20 years old. My youngest is going to be driving soon. I want to scream "STOP!!"

What I found out is if you book a Disney cruise, pay off the balance, so now you're free to book all your activities if you are in your booking window, time almost comes to a complete stop. Oct. 29th is never going to get here, it seems.

So, wah-llaaa! The slowing of time can happen.

I felt like time was zipping by when I still had payments due for our family cruise, but now that we are paid in full time is crawling by. I even bumped our cruise date up by 6 months because the wait was unbearable for our original May 2017 cruise. I rebooked for November 2016 and the wait almost seems worse if that makes any sense! I read travel reports to live vicariously through them lol. :bored:

Does it slow down or speed up when you get down to the last couple weeks prior to embarkation?

For me, that's when it speeds up because at that point, I'm trying to wrap up everything before I'm gone from work for a week or more. I do like that once I'm on the ship, work stops completely. No cell phone coverage has its perks. :)

LOL! I totally agree! For me time drags as I count down week after week...until about 1 week in advance and then there is just not enough time!

I'm actually a little over 4 weeks away from leaving for my next cruise so I am really trying to get things done now while I have the time. I even made a list of what clothes I need to bring for 1 son today so hopefully I will be somewhat ahead of the game come mid August.

We're on that sailing too!
Although time is dragging, I really try not to wish the summer away - 'cause then it's back to work!

Awesome! I have been saying the same thing this past week. I hate that I book vacations for the end of the summer because I do end up wishing the summer away, but it is less expensive and with the DCL pricing it really makes a difference.

We are sailing then as well. Which ship are you sailing on?

We're on that sailing too and I'm losing my mind waiting. I almost booked a summer cruise as well, just because I'm too impatient.

I'm just curious for those that are eagerly awaiting their cruise, is it a first time, or subsequent cruise? I'm just wondering if once you experience it does it make it all the more difficult to wait for. So for those of us having never been, maybe ignorance is bliss.

You on the Magic too?

Ignorance is bliss. For those who have never cruised, you may be eagerly awaiting a vacation. But once you experience a DC and all it has to offer...the wait to get back on the ship is excruciating. IMHO.

This is Disney cruise #18 for us and I think it gets harder each time. To me it's like a drug...once you have a taste of it, you want more. Then you go again and remember how great it was and you want even more. And just knowing how much I love my favorite little spot on CC and dream about being there almost every day, kills me!

Not this time...we are on the Fantasy.

Hi! We are booked for the Magic Transatlantic trip. This will be our first Disney cruise and we are TOO EXCITED!!
We do want to participate in the Fish Extender fun. Does anyone know if that group has been started, and if so, how do we join?
Thank you,
Debi (from Orlando)

You can check out our Cruise Meets Board to see if a thread has been started for your date yet. If so, you will find the link in the directory. If not you can then start a new thread and please let me know. I will then add it to the directory for you.

We're going on our first cruise ever at the end of January. It was dragging by but now i feel like it's flying because I still have to finish paying it off and I'm running out of time!!!

Hi Debi - I just booked our Transatlantic cruise (May 2017) today! I'm so excited too! I've cruised with Disney several times and promise you are gonna' LOVE it. I haven't participated in the fish extender exchange before, but really want to this time... I'm hoping to eavesdrop on anyone that responds to your post about that. lol

Oh, and the best part (imho) about the long cruises with lots of sea days is that they turn the children only areas into adult only areas for at least a few nights. So us "big" kids get to attend our very own Toy Story boot camp, Princess training, and make slime and play in the fun area. lol

See ya' on board... Heather

(I'll be the one curled up in a quiet corner with my coloring and markers! :) )
