I used to love seeing the deer until my SO came down with Lyme disease. He is now totally disabled because the antibiotics didn't work and his insurance refused to allow another round of medications.
I know it isn't the deer that start the lyme tick, they come from mice and take a free ride on the deer, but they jump off the deer onto trees and then of the trees onto humans.
So seeing deer now makes me a little nervous that they are spreading the ticks around the yard. Peggie

The only wildlife we see in our backyard are skunks. I'll take deer any day.

We used to have a skunk too that would "visit" us every night. We used to wonder who was making the bite marks on our garbage can lids. We kept the cans next to the porch. Then we realized that it was the skunk that used to "visit" us every night. The skunk would climb on the porch and would bite at the lids. One time we left the lid off and it fell in. What a dilemma. My DH carefully and gently tipped it and then ran into the house. The kids and I watched from my bedroom window. Now we don't see or hear it anymore and we have moved the cans!!

Kayla, if you also had Lauri for company, you'd have a crazy redhead running out there wanting to hug them.

Not to mention three poodles and a tibetan spaniel barking their heads off.

her and MY DD can figure out a way to Hug them
as for the pups that is what my labs do
they can't understand why the BIG BROWN DOGS don't wanna play

We have lots of them also and they are sooo nice to look at. But, like the other posters mentioned they do alot of damage to our property. We have a berry tree right outside our window and come May when the trees are filled with berries, we get so many deer on our property and let me tell you, they make a mess. They leave nice large "packages" all over our grass, that you have to watch where you walk. Not to mention, that they and the rabbits eat the heads off our tulips. BUT, they are beautiful. Every so often, we also get bucks, but, they don't come around as often as the doe and the baby dear.
