I have a confession...

Tigger&Belle said:
Up until last week there were LOTS of things in my fridge that should have been tossed a long time ago. That was pretty gross.

:stir: I am SO the queen of moldy leftovers in the fridge, that I then make DH dump out!! hehehe...

I know it's disgusting, and would be really easy to throw away earlier, than say, when they can walk and talk, but I am just too lazy to do it.

You all are hysterical! :lmao:

My confession is that I bought myself an elliptical machine for x-mas, and haven't touched it in over a month. My excuse is that the batteries died, then I was out of town for 4 weeks, etc, etc.

Batteries died, eh?

Do ellipticals RUN on batteries?? :lmao:

I'm also the queen of narsty leftovers... the longer it sits, the more afraid I am to touch it... I picked up a bag of something in our veggie drawer today... it may or may not have been a cucumber at one time :scared:

Don't bother taking the tree down, just the ornaments, and then hang plastic eggs on it for Easter!! We had a tree in our rec room in the basement that never came down, my mother decorated it for all the holidays!!

That is it, I am calling my friend the self appointed holiday decoration police! She is adamant about decorations, mind you not so adamant that she would come to my house while we were at WDW and take the tree down, oh no, she mailed us and I am not kidding, an EXTENSION!

Her and her hubby came over for dinner on Sunday and about 10 minutes before they were due to arrive my DS came flying out of his room and into the kitchen in a total panic, he thought the lights were still up on the house! :lmao: DH took them down a couple of weeks ago.

Since you sold your house and are moving, maybe the buyer thought the tree was a permanent fixture and would be devastated if you took it down. :teeth:

This made me laugh. I knew a guy who had been active in AA for decades.

He always said that you could tell who the drunks were because they still had their Christmas decorations up in July.

I'm sure this isn't you or your partner - it isn't July yet!!!

My confession is that I moved to Little Rock FIVE years ago and still haven't unpacked a LOT of my stuff. And I got rid of 2/3 of my possessions before I moved.

Thats too funny. I have to say my Christmas decorations are in the box and in the attic on December 26th but I do have a confession........

My house is very clean. People come over and always comment on how clean and organized my house is having a small child. Well, lets hope they never open a cupboard, closet or drawer!! My house is clean because I just shoved everything laying around in the nearest closet....

this is so true for us too!!!
we don't go to bed christmas night until all the decorations are down and put away....though the tree is put away in the basement closet with all decorations and lights still on it.
BUT.....
people can't get over how neat as a pin, and uncluttered our home is. i dust, vac, and mop 2x a week. i clean bathrooms, sweep and pick up clutter every day. but......closets, cupboards etc. are not neat at all. oh well...just remember to duck if you every open the tupperware cupboard in our house.(you have been warned) :teeth:

The first step is admiting you have a problem.....

:rotfl2:

My christmas tree would still be up if my cat didn't think it was his special toy.

However all my christmas decorations at work are still up although I did just take down the window clings a few weeks ago. Only because they were cleaning the windows. My excuse is I don't want to bring them back home so I"ll just leave them there but where would I put them so I just leave them on the shelf.

As far as the moldy food goes yep my fridge is also pretty disgusting. I would throw things out but I get busy then it gets moldy so I just shove it into the back.

I just need to stop even putting the leftovers in the containers because really who am I kidding I never even eat leftovers!

I rarely eat the leftovers, but I know the minute I throw food away, I'll be all PO'd the next day, because I really wanted some, but I threw it away. Alas, it's a vicious nasty moldy cycle...

If they ran on batteries I might actually use mine! :rotfl2: But then what would be the point? :teeth:

Yeah, it's laziness with my fridge. Also, I get grossed out very easily and if I see or especially smell something gone bad I might not want to eat it again.

I love leftovers and they don't usually go bad, it's normally produce that we don't finish, etc.

My sister in law admits to this (cleans corners with a friggin toothbrush!!) but insists her closets are "a mess". Well, I assume they are a mess in a clean person's definition of "a mess" (not mine! :teeth: ). So the last time I was at their house I was sitting on the toilet and decided to open the door of the standup cupboard they have in their bathroom.... :rotfl2: It was like someone had mashed any odd or end that was sitting around the house in that cupboard!!! I know what she means now... let's just hope no one looks in your cupboards ;) (btw I don't normally do this... only didn't it because I didn't believe her! :lmao: )

And icebrat~ woohoo!!!!! You make me feel better. I thought March 10th was bad!!!! ;)

I love this thread! I keep a clean house, but my organizational skills are the worst! DH is afraid to go into my closets, and asks for help every time he need anything that is not in the front. I thought that I was the only one who left greens and candy canes on the front porch until March.

I have frozen bananas in my refrigerator in a plastic bag.

The problem is..I have NO idea how long they've been in there. They are mushy around the edges and a disgusting deep, dark brown color. But I don't know if I can bring myself to throw them away. I'm afraid to open the bag..it might smell. :faint:

A friend of mine was like this. Once she found a laundry basket full of clothes that she was missing. She had shoved them in a closet when company was coming. I am the opposite, my drawers and closets are lovingly organised, but the kitchen is a mess!

My house does get out of control at times. Usually it gets "super" cleaned when I'm having company (read as: things get shoved wherever they can get shoved). That just happened this weekend as a matter of fact. As I was cleaning up, I noticed that I never took the Christmas clings off of my 2 curio cabinets and I have a wooden elf that sits on my one shelf (pretty big) that I never put away either! Oh my gosh, it's Easter and I'm still undecorating Christmas! Now, I don't feel so bad.

Next time when you have bananas that are getting overripe, put them in the freezer. They will turn black on the outside, but can be used in banana bread and actually the riper the better. When they come out of the freezer, just leave them to defrost in a bowl while you're getting the ingredients ready, then peel and mash. They will look disgusting, but will make great bread.

And yes, I have a great banana bread recipe. And no, nobody has to marry me or even sleep with me (or pretend to want to do either...) to get the recipe. :rotfl:

ME TOO!!! If you open a closet, something might come flying down on your head from the top shelf! :duck:

No big deal IceBrat ~ you can just pack it up now for your move! Congrats on purchasing your new home!! Where is it?

One of my coworkers had this problem, they were in there for 2 weeks though. She made banana bread.

Shh... It tasted like old mushed banana. I just smiled and swallowed.
