I hate shorts and t-shirts! is it just me?

I am fit and my thighs touch at the top when I stand legs together. They don't chafe when I walk though - not a problem for me wearing a dress or skirt at the parks. I do use the monistat chafing gel on my face as a make-up primer though! A tip I got right here.

not really true.. Overweight people tend to have thighs that chaff like that.. That said, they made some sportsglide or such to help with the chaffing. So that might be an option.

But fit folks don't have the issue, it is the folks well with big thighs..

Of course they do...and some folks who are thin have thighs that touch too...and so do some fit people. Kind of depends on the shape of the thighs, how muscular in addition to plain ol' weight.

Thighs touching. Now on a normal day, not such a big deal...even for me. But add in the wicked Florida heat and humidity and the massive amount of walking and it can be a problem.

years ago when we first started going to WDW would never have worn shorts and a t shirt or sneakers. my sister also was same way we had to have outfit for each day with shoes to match our purse. then one trip we decided we were going to just "try" taking shorts and buy tops there. well that got expensive. so the following year we took shorts and t shirts and long story short was easier and cooler for us and have been doing that for last 20 years...also got tired of all the blisters and band aids so went to new balance gym shoes and took care of that problem. so now we are in attack Disney mode each trip...and the biggy that we absolutely swore we would never do was the fany pack and it is ugly and it makes a skinny person looks fat but it is the best thing we did no more back aches from back packs and no achy shoulders and we get all we need for the day in one and oer camers. so were the ugly ones with fanny packs.. so easy to keep on in a ride or trun them around for a pillow in a ride..

I have to ask (with no snark) what are you people putting in these shoulder bags? Mine has autograph books, passport holder with my passport & a few credit cards, some drink mixes, small bottles of hand sanitizer, lotion & a tube of chapstick. Maybe a snack or two. I've traipsed all over Europe & Alaska with various items in my bag & never felt sore at the end of the day.

I mean, its a day at Disney, not the Beaches of Normandy!!

Usually my stuff plus everything that everyone else in my party suddenly decides they don't want to lug around. ;)

*blows nose & scratches belly*

Well, theres your problem right there. I told my kids I am not Packy the Pack Mule & they have their own bags to carry stuff.

Also, that wasn't snark, that was sarcasm!! :lmao:

I have to carry my medicatinos with me, and I bring a small first aid kit because DS ends up with knees covered in bandaids :sad2: I also shove my camera in my shoulder bag a lot, and carry a baggie to put it all in for water rides. It's not that full and not that heavy.

Hah! Packy the Pack Mule. I'll have to use that next time. :thumbsup2

yes, really true, women who aren't overweight still have inner thighs that touch right at the top.:confused3

(I'm actually now googling celebs in bikini pics..my boyfriend is helping :) ...so far Cameron Diaz, Megan Fox, Demi Moore -before she became ungodly skinny, Scarlett Johanson... Salma Hayek, Halle Berry..) even the beach volley ball players, some of their thighs touch at the top....

I think what that poster was trying to say is that everyone's thighs are going to touch when you stand with your legs together. But not everyone's touch while walking, or just standing normally. I doubt Cameron Diaz has chafing problems. ;)

But in the extreme heat and humidity, it happens!! Really! It's been over 100 here the whole week, the other day I was walking for a good while and my thighs started to feel like they were rubbing together under my skirt. That does not normally happen to me!:rotfl: Quite frankly, I was completely uncomfortable in my own skin, it was so humid.

.

I use Glide. It works just like bike shorts.

<----That's what I was slathered in from head to toe! :rotfl:

I especially used it where my bra is under my arms. Great product. I'd never spend the extra $ for the women's version. I think that's a gimmick.

Alrighty then. I know some runners who use Body-Glide so their running shorts or bra don't chafe during a race but didn't realize so many people used it for just walking around or that rubbing thighs were such a problem.

Well yeah, in a race. I also put Aquaphor between my toes for any run over 10 miles but I have never thought about doing that just walking around. Relax, I just asked a question.

I did put it (Body Glide) on my feet but never thought about between my toes. I wonder if the Aquaphor would be better for that? Since DH runs so much at WDW, we keep Aquaphor in the Owner's Locker also.

I ride in one of the Wacoals. I've been on a hunt for a sports bra that fits...I flat out REFUSE to buy anything online (without trying it on first...not happening) and it's tricky finding anything in stores in my size. Only the department stores carry my sizes. I'd also like to find a demi cup or push up bra so that on the rare occasion I do wear something low cut, my bra isn't showing and the cleavage looks decent.

Thanks! If you ever find a favorite sports bra, let me know. My needs are not the same as yours but the need for something that is comfortable and works is something I'm on the lookout for.

so am i insane? Am i totally on my own for not being willing forgo for the shorts t and trainers look?

I don't know what's happening in this thread, and I'm not looking - but no, you're not alone.

I don't wear shorts, or gym shoes. I wear skirts, cute sundresses and sandals. :thumbsup2

Am I seriously the only lady out there who just can't feel confortable walking around looking like, well not like me thats for sure!
...

I guess its just my style, I like skirts and dresses, I like to be girly and shorts and a t-shirts just make me feel blah!:rolleyes2

You're not insane; do what makes you the most comfortable. I will be out there in shorts, a t-shirt, and running shoes, because that's what makes me "look like me". Whenever I try to femme it up, I end up looking like a drag queen. :sad2:

In the USA-i associate denim shorts on adults as people who watch Nascar, name their car and are hillbillies;):rotfl:

Most middle class folks wear kaki shorts, Polo-Ralph lauren-look at their stuff to get the idea

I wear shorts or capris and cute peasant blouses or button down shirts-Lauren and Jones new York-...BUT at WDW ONLY I do wear my jogging shoes (brit's trainers) because you walk ALOT. (In 'real life" i only wear them to exercise)

I would not wear any type of dress to ride thrill rides at WDW;)

I was thinking of taking a few sundresses along this next trip. They are cooler for me than the capris I generally wear. I must say that I would not wear a pencil skirt in the parks and i would not chance a tube top. Wardrobe malfunctions that might happen will happen to me ;)

OP- wear what you want but try to keep in mind the attractions you are going to be on and if your choice will hinder your ability to get on and off in a timely manner.

Wow really? Most middle class folks around here wear cute denim shorts, like Nascar and think those who only go for Polo-Ralph Lauren stuff are a bit snooty. :snooty: You can wear denim shorts and still look very nice.

Denim shorts are not just those gross old flat pocket things that look like you just cut off your Levis, you know. There are many brands that are very cute and kind of dressy looking. With all the different colors they now come in, they are pretty trendy too. I wouldn't wear them in the 100 degree heat though.:crazy2:

hmmmmmmmm...you know Ralph Lauren makes **GASP*** denim shorts right? As seen here from the MACYS website ($69.50..but many pairs were over $100)
