I hate shorts and t-shirts! is it just me?

IMO, it is to each his own, whatever you feel comfortable in as long as it fits you properly and is age appropriate. I put on allot of weight and have circulation problems with my legs so I have to wear support hose for the rest of life. So I always wear long pants to cover the hose or long dresses.

If I didn't wear the hose chances are I'd be wearing shorts, especially in hot hot weather like it is right now. :crazy2:

Wear what you want. If you find it too hot or uncomfortable there are lots of shops around, and a Walmart right down the road. They all sell shorts, t-shirts, etc.

Am I the only one while at Disney that does not notice what anyone else is wearing? I'm too busy enjoying our time there to be concerned with fashion. I'm all about being comfortable in that kind of heat and humidity. I've even been known to carry a "gasp" fanny pack  so that I can be hands free!

I'm with you! I wear running shoes, dry fit shorts and light fitted tees.

OP, wear what you like and what you are comfortable in. I think most everyone else has posted some good reminders and good advice. I'm entirely too concerned with my physical comfort and that of my lil crew to worry about how I look. And this is coming from a self-professed, prissy southern belle. :cutie:

Oh, and have a great trip!

Ok, so I am just doing my packing list for our holiday that is now 33days away and DH is making fun of me!
"Why don't ya just pack a load of shorts and t-shirts like the rest of us?"
"for god's sake pack some trainers so you can walk faster then a tortoise."

Am I seriously the only lady out there who just can't feel confortable walking around looking like, well not like me thats for sure! There will be pictures taken of me in virtually every outfit I wear on my holiday,so why would I suddenly not care what I look like?:confused3

I have invested in a couple of pairs of nice coloured denim shorts and I have a few nice t-shirts that I will wear with these. I have also made us family t's and will be wearing these one of the days.
I will be packing my trainers but these are to wear to the gym, NOT to be worn with shorts or anything else because noones legs look good in trainers!:sad2:
What I have packed is a couple of jersey pencil skirts with 4 matching strapless tops,
A shorts playsuit
1 Amazingly cute maxi dress
1 jersey vest type dress
1 white tea dress
2 shift dresses forevening
1 pair coloured jeans
1 sundress
A few vest tops
3 pairs of flip flops
Toms
2 bikinis
Cardi for aircon places

prob a few things I've forgotten about but its hardly a huge list. We will be in florida for 21 nights so its a long time. Plus I'm from ENGLAND so I don't ever wear shorts because its too flippin' cold!!!!:sad2: I am just so used to being covered up that "letting it all hangout" is just a very strange concept for me to handle! I can manage at the pools because its a pool, but walking around in the day, I like to look nice. I don't do heels (I'm 5'8 so never do) and I wear a bit oftinted moisturiser and mascara so I'm not exactly dressed inapropriately. I guess its just my style, I like skirts and dresses, I like to be girly and shorts and a t-shirts just make me feel blah!:rolleyes2
so am i insane? Am i totally on my own for not being willing forgo for the shorts t and trainers look?
wear what you are comfortable in and is practical, keyword being practical.

I have to echo that I would never be caught dead in matching family t-shirts.

I also would not be caught dead in a tight jersey pencil skirt and a strapless shirt. I am assuming tube top type thing? In many parts of this country that kind of outfit is definitely not considered ladylike, especially if paired with heavy makeup.

I don't wear shorts ever nor do I wear denim in Florida.

I do wear skirts and capri-length pants and cargos. I will also wear sundresses.

I wear T-shirts with both skirts and capris, but not like men t-shirts. I also wear sandals or Fit-Flops or Nike sandals.

It is SO easy to get in and out of rides in a skirt. Of course, I am not wearing mini-skirts, I prefer the hippie-flowing kind. These keep me both cool and sticky-free.

So, I can see where the OP is coming from and I also like to look nice in my photos. However, I would never wear colored jeans ever in Florida.

Just a guess but she'd probably set fire to her own hair before she'd shop for clothing at Walmart.

I never notice what people wear anywhere.

Eh, whatever floats your boat.

Personally, I wouldn't be caught dead in a matching family tshirt.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I wear practical clothing to the parks, shorts/capris and a nice knit shirt. I don't wear t-shirts with slogans or logos, I'm too old. Shoes? I think people with non supportive shoes look crazy at WDW but I don't go round looking at shoes either. I'm way too focused on having fun to even notice what others are wearing.

The stinky thing about these threads is that the item or thing that "everybody "hates is what I'm usually wearing. :)

<--------See my short denim shorts in my picture? And there I am rocking those sneakers too!

For those who wear dresses in WDW for the "coolness" (as in less hot)..don't your thighs chafe? Or do you wear bike shorts beneath it?

I agree with everyone who says wear what you feel comfortable in. But believe me when I tell you, you will not be comfortable in colored jeans. I live in central FL and would never wear jeans to the park unless I was in my air conditioned house getting into my air conditioned car and then driving to an air conditioned place. Did I forget to mention I would valet my car.

I would not pack the colored jeans (unless you have extra rm in suitcase). I would go buy another pretty sundress and lots of Glide. Because no matter how skinny you are you will sweat. My dd is a young and petite and when we go visit the parks she always asks me for glide.

I've never worn skirts at WDW but I do wear them a lot in these hot TX summers. My thighs honestly do not chafe & I'm a larger gal with not skinny thighs. My impression is that I'm getting more airflow to my thighs than if I wear leggings, capris or shorts. My skirts usually hit right below my knee to ankle length & I've never had a problem with them flying up & showing everything.
Everyone & every body is different. I'm less comfortable in capris on a hot day than I am in a maxi dress or t-shirt material skirt.

Well, wear what you feel best in don't let anyone change your mind.

Along that mindset I'm going to be wearing denim, capri length, bermuda length, shorts (not short shorts, I save those for work) and I'll be wearing tank tops and tennis shoes. Flip flops for pool time (if we have any) but not for park time, no way.
As for matching shirts, this trip is for DD's 16th, I let her design tank tops after her favorite ride, HM, I designed ones after my favorite ride PotC, they are close enough to know we are together but not exactly matching. I have no problem wearing matching shirts, they can be fun!

I wear denim shorts all the time to work, job #2 I'm a dance instructor at a country bar, I wear tank tops with short denim shorts and cowboy boots, the patrons seem to like it. lol

I use Glide. It works just like bike shorts.

Body Glide? We've had pretty good luck with the Monistat Anti-Chafe gel, but I may look into Body Glide next time I'm near that sporting goods store who's name always gets censored here!

I look better with my upper body covered and my legs exposed (Ive been told I have dynamite legs :confused3 ). Wish I could find a dress for my upper body! :rotfl2:

OK, never having worn a dress anywhere let alone to WDW I have to ask, why would someone's thighs chafe when walking in one? Please don't say because their thighs rub together when they walk...please. That isn't a visual I need.

You know the reason.

Alrighty then. I know some runners who use Body-Glide so their running shorts or bra don't chafe during a race but didn't realize so many people used it for just walking around or that rubbing thighs were such a problem.

Jennasis: I have a large bust too. Hanes makes these really thin layering tanks that are light beige. I wear them all the time. They even have adjustable straps so you can hike them as high as you need. I LOVE them!!

I read this and got so excited, but then...

Containing the ladies isn't a problem (thanks to my collection of stupid expensive Wacoal bras). You have to understand, when I say large, I mean LARGE (36G). Hanes makes nothing that fits me.

I read this.
I'm a GG, so I guess I'm out of luck.
Jennasis, what dept store stocks your size? I can't find anything over DDD and that doesn't cut it.

OP, just think breathable fabrics when you pack.

I know lots of guys who use it so their nipples don't bleed during marathons. I find that pretty off-putting, but don't feel the need to pretend I don't know that it happens.

Muscular legs touch too you know. Not just the kind you have nightmares about.
