***Tokyo Disney Resort - FAQ***

Q1. Purchasing passes on separate mobile phones?

If both my spouse and I have all our day tickets scanned into the Tokyo Disney app on each of our phones, can we each try to book different types of tickets upon entry to DisneySea? For example, can my spouse try to purchase a paid Premier Access ticket for Tangled or Frozen while I try to obtain a Standby Pass for Tinkerbell or Peter Pan?

Or once you create a "group" with the day tickets in the app, can only one person try to obtain tickets / passes?

I'm guessing we can each try at the same time, as long as they're not the same category of tickets (i.e. obviously we can't both purchase Premier Access tickets, but one of us could aim for paid Premier Access tickets while the other aims for the free 40th Anniversary Priority Passes or Fantasy Springs Standby Passes)?

Q2. North vs. south entrances at DisneySea?

Is there any real difference in the south (LHS) and north (RHS) entrances to DisneySea in terms of being the first to enter the park (and therefore start trying to get entry into Fantasy Springs)?

And if there is a preferred entrance, is there a preferred line / queue? From memory, there are about ... maybe 10 lines stretching from left to right.

We've never given this any real thought on prior trips, but would like to get into Fantasy Springs (and ideally passes for Frozen) if we can for our Elsa-obsessed daughter.

Q1: yes you can both try. We even tried for the same type and the second one to click on it just won’t go through.

Q2: I wondered this as well, but can’t tell you an answer.

I think only FSH guests can enter through the other entrance, but I could be wrong.

Oh, I just realized that you asked this as well: in our experience the line furthest from the monorail was slightly shortest.

I was wondering if the south side would be busier, as that’s the side people arriving on the monorail see and some guests might not be aware that there is a north side, too. We ended up in the south side both days.

Early Entry is on the right hand side facing the entrance, the line closest to Miracosta. There will actually be multiple lines for normal entry. The right hand side is closest to Fantasy Springs. Really no advantage though for normal entry. Just depends how quickly people get through.

Q. Popcorn flavours

My daughter only likes the "plain / salt" popcorn. I'm trying to interpret this guide on the official website, but I can't see an explicit code to figure out what flavours are at what locations using just the map: https://www.tokyodisneyresort.jp/en/tds/food/popcorn_taste.html

I *think* it might be:

- the popcorn wagon near the (disused) hangar stage (i.e. no. 6 on the DisneySea map)
- the small popcorn shop / stand in Tomorrowland (i.e. no. 11 on the Disneyland map)

Is that right?

I'm just trying to save myself time running all over the parks! : )

I'm reasonably confident I've figured out where to buy the Elsa / Frozen popcorn bucket at DisneySea (the popcorn wagon near the open-air stage in the American Waterfront).

I want to shop, though how do you store your purchases and bring them back to your hotel?

I'm likely staying at an offsite hotel, so what are my options?

Re: Subsequent booking times for Standby Passes (Fantasy Springs)

I can find the relevant information for Premier Access (60 minutes) and Priority Pass (120 minutes) tickets for subsequent bookings, but I can't find the information for Standby Passes for the Fantasy Springs attractions.

For example, IF I get a Standby Pass for Tinkerbell, when I can aim to get another Standby Pass for a different attraction in Fantasy Springs?

This FAQ only talks about Standby Passes for shops - do the same rules apply for the Fantasy Springs attractions? https://faq.tokyodisneyresort.jp/tdr/en/faq_detail.html?id=22025&category=&page=1

I am not sure, but think it’s 120 minutes as well.

But in the app it tells you the exact time when you can book the next one when you click on the icon for booking one. We always set our phone alarms for 5 minutes before that time to be prepared to get started.

Q. Where to meet princesses at Disneyland?

Hi all,

We had our first day at Disneyland on Wednesday and didn’t have any luck checking the usual haunts for any princesses. I’m not sure if we just had bad luck or whether the character meets were reduced because of the heat (32 degrees - the daytime parade was cancelled).

Any recommendations for where to check when we return tomorrow? We checked in Fantasyland around the castle, the main entry area and the covered Main Street multiple times during the day.

Our princess obsessed little one would love to meet someone.

The best chance of seeing a princess will be near the main entrance in between the parades but obviously not while they're performing in the parade. They go into the covered area during rain but I can't quite remember what the face characters do when it's super hot. I feel like Aurora is the most common but I've also seen Cinderella, Belle, Snow White, Rapunzel and Esmerelda in that area. It's really random though so you may see characters who aren't princesses.

Pre-pandemic, princesses did sometimes appear in Fantasyland around 10-noonish but I don't remember if I've seen them there post-pandemic.

I've also seen Pocahantas near Splash Mountain in the morning but I'm not sure it's a good idea to go hunting for her since this may be out of the way.

Q. Places to meet roaming characters at DisneySea on rainy days?

Hi all,

We normally have luck meeting roaming characters at DisneySea out the front near the globe or in the open American Waterfront area (and sometimes in the Agrabah area near Sindbad).

We’re due to visit DisneySea on a rainy day, so presumably there will be no characters in those areas out in the rain. Does anyone know where else they may appear? Or would there just be no roaming characters on rainy days?

The characters in the front of the park go into the covered area under hotel Miracosta between the globe and piazza. I think the characters in other areas of the park will simply not come out.

I apologize if this is a very dumb question but are you able to request for specific rows on rides? I know at the US parks that isn't an issue but idk about the Japanese parks. The only ride I wanted to ask for would be Splash Mountain as I love getting wet on water rides and would want to sit in the front row. If you can, how would I go about asking that in Japanese? Thanks!

If the waits are not long, you can try asking the cast member but Japanese people waiting in line may consider it rude/selfish. If your Japanese isn't good, it's probably better to ask in English so you can appear as a foreign tourist who is unfamiliar with Japanese customs.

I think you'd be more likely to be refused for Splash Mountain than Fantasy Springs attractions like Frozen where they understand that many people only have one chance to ride it. The idea is that if you really want to ride in the front for Splash Mountain, you can just wait in line again until you get the front row by chance.

Within the first 30 minutes to an hour of park open, less popular attractions such as Gadget Go Coaster can be another case when they'll accommodate first row requests since there may be few people waiting.
