This is the most ignorant statement in this thread :sad2: I happen to take HUGE offense to being called close minded, hate filled, intolerant and a name caller:headache: I happen to be on the left so I am just a notch above the KKK and skinsheads huh ?:rolleyes2 Pure ignorance :crazy2:

The president didn't say we should stop listening to Limbaugh-it's Dawn once again weaving her words to get "the left" in an uproar  Nothing new.

To prove a point, I will quote you, "This is the most ignorant statement in this ...." and "Pure ignorance :crazy2." Then there is, "it's Dawn once again weaving her words....."

The left is lovefilled, unless you disagree with them. They are tolerant of other people, when their views are aligned with their own agenda. And they are open minded, as long as the ideas of others match their own.

Let's turn things around and it was McCain that won. If you opposed him during the election because you didn't agree with his vision and policies for the country, would you still want him to succeed in implementing his policies?

<SNIP>

Yes, if Senator McCain would have become the President I would have supported his economic plan.

I want our Presidents to succeed!

Your hunch would be incorrect.

As far as being Canadian and having an interest in American politics goes, well, only an idiot wouldn't have an interest in what effects the global economy. We have lost tens of thousands of dollars in our investments in the last 4 months thanks to the global economic meltdown for which your country's mortgage and financial markets are largely to blame.

Thanks a pantload.
You gambled and you lost. Can't really blame other people for that.

Our country isn't going to change for the better as long as the likes of Limbaugh and Hannity continue to be dividers. Too bad so many people believe their venom spewed, twisted-up values.

I think Obama made the comment he did in response to old fat pants saying he hopes Obama fails. But, trying to reason with Limbaugh and his followers is like trying to reason with a bunch of two-year-olds.

Our last president failed miserably and look where it got us. Limbaugh was wrong in every way for the last several years, and look where listening to him got us.

Help me out here. Would calling Rush "old fat pants" classify as being a divider?

Or maybe Harry Reid calling the President a "loser" to an audience of school children can be classified as being a divider?

Or Maybe Nancy Pelosi giving an interview in which she says that GWB flying away in the helicopter "was like a 10 pound anvil being lifted off her head," can be classified as being a divider?"

Or perhaps booing the outgoing president and singing, "na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, good bye" during the inaugrual celebration can be classified as being a divider?

Or maybe,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

You gambled and you lost. Can't really blame other people for that.

Not quite as black and white as that.

Considering that most of the world's economy went down the dumper largely because several of your financial institutions became insolvent due to their greed fueled lending practices and lack of government oversight, I would say your statement is rather disingenuous, but you already know that.

I see... so, agree with BO or shut up and sit down. :snooty: I get it. Hope...Change... No thank you. :crazy2:

Very nice!! A nice indication of just what everyone has been talking about!! You would think that the Right has a monopoly on "venom" but by reading your post you showed that they don't! :rotfl2: Rush ALSO does not have the monopoly on being "dividers." Typical that if someone says something YOU don't agree with then he must be "fat pants," or some of the lovely things the left called Bush like "Bu****ler." Keith Olberman is such a lovely man and has such nice things to say about people! Wonder who you have been listening to? Obviously not Rush because you have no idea what he is about!

I agree. We need more people like Keith Olbermann to unite us.

"Dividers?" It might be a real eye-opener for you but there are a heck of a lot of Americans who are not "kool-aid drinkers." Just because people don't agree with what YOU believe???? Where is all the tolerance the left is supposed to have? The only tolerance they have is for people who believe the same thing they do or those who wish to destroy our country!!

I think he meant what he said.

If you would like my interpretation of that: Get the information you seek straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak, rather than those who interpret it to further their own agenda.

Oh I see. So you think because my opinion differs from yours that I didn't do any research, just listened to Dawn and Rush. Got it. I said what I think he meant. Got it?

People want to know how we became so decisive in this country - here you go.

Rush has been spewing hate for years and is a bully and a hypocrite. The hate from the right has been nuts for a long time.

But yet the left does the same thing and we are to blame?:rotfl2: :rotfl2: Priceless.

You're kidding right? We (the conservatives) have been listening to your hate for the last EIGHT years, and you guys are concerned over what a talk radio host says? Give me a break.

To me this all just comes down to one thing: President Obama watches Sean Hannity! And apparently that show he (Hannity) did with Limbaugh really got under President Obama's skin. Why else would he choose to mention Rush Limbaugh? If the guy is so out there in left field, so full of crap, then why give him a mention?

Rush Limbaugh isn't my favorite. I rarely listen to him. I do often agree with what he says but find the way he says it offensive. However, any liberal who thinks they don't have the same sort of blowhards on their side are either delusional or lying.

I don't ever recall President Bush mentioning Keith Olberman as somebody not to listen to.

And my liberal friends, if you can't stand the heat get out of the kitchen. If you don't want your president to be critqued, made fun of, blasted and treated like total dog dung, don't elect him/her! Because take it from somebody who voted for Bush, you have to have very thick skin to survive the next 4-8 years. Limbaugh, Hannity and many others, well they are just getting started.

O.k. but if you think because a republican was president at the start of this fiasco that it's his fault you need to study American politics a little better. Do the names Chris Dodd and Barney Frank mean anything to you? There is plenty of blame to go around. But I have only seen you defending the liberal point of view. That's what I mean by typical.

Linda, it wouldn't have made a bit of difference. First they were outraged because of what they thought he said, thanks to Dawn's paraphrasing. How dare Obama tell us we can't listen to Rush!

Then, when they read what he actually said, they became outraged by what they thought he meant. They are determined to be outraged everytime Obama opens his mouth so it really makes no difference what he says.

Same way that many of you were with Presidnet Bush!!!! No matter what he did or didn't do many were always out for blood.

Oh I see. So you think because my opinion differs from yours that I didn't do any research, just listened to Dawn and Rush. Got it. I said what I think he meant. Got it?

Theresa, I would be delighted if you would be so kind as to tell the assembled group where, exactly, I said anything about what you personally think Obama meant, or where I said anything about anybody doing (or not doing) research.

You are just making stuff up.

Well said! :thumbsup2

"You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done," he told top GOP leaders, whom he had invited to the White House to discuss his nearly $1 trillion stimulus package.

The key word in this sentence is JUST. People can listen to whoever they choose, but if bi-partisan or compromise is what you want – Rush can’t be your only source. In order for Gov’t to work, compromises have to be made. But if they choose not to listen to Pres. Obama (which they have every right to if they choose to) don’t be surprised if the entire liberal agenda gets passed. It’s in conservative’s advantage to take heed. By the way, “I’m a long time listener” of Rush – but I’ve never gotten through – so I can’t say the second half of that phrase. I’m a liberal that listens to Rush, Morning Joe, Chris Matthews and Kieth Olbermann. I can honestly say that I listen to both extremes. I sit somewhere in the middle – I’m just leaning left.
