I guess it was almost inevitable....

Interesting though, the WDW site is letting you still make reservations from April 10th on.

This new offer from Disney giving free dining to guests whose reservations were cancelled due to Covid19 will not apply to campsites.

I've held onto my June 4-11 reservation, as in the past it was actually a good week before the heavy summer crowds hit. However, with this offer I am just about assured it will be a crowded madhouse. We are seriously watching this. I'm not a fan of spending the big bucks and find myself in a crowd so thick you can't enjoy anything. We have another trip booked in October for the Dismeet. It was going to just be myself and DW, however we may shift the plans and let the girls go with us on that trip instead and just have to make up the school they miss.

Any thoughts?

It's a tough call. After this settles down, are people gonna race back to the parks? :confused3
The free dining sure is a great incentive and I think people might take advantage of this thinking there will be a slow return to the parks, which will make it busy.:crazy2:
Might be better in the long run to just roll the June trip into Dismeet. Hopefully it all works out for you

I called this morning to get the details for my mid-April trip at POP. Apparently the free dining is only for trips cancelled through March 31. I booked 4 nights at CBR for the end of June on a Spring bounce back we had. I had to book my last night and it was only good on reservations through the end of June. Hopefully they extend the dining offer on cancelled trips through April. It's a nice gesture to get people back to the parks for something TDC is suffering through, like the rest of us.

Kind of scary - we just had our first confirmed covid-19 case tonight here in our little northern Minnesota town :(

?

Jim, my understanding is visits through May 31st. Did I hear that wrong?

As of yesterday morning the CM notice was still saying March 31st. The notice today said May 31st. I called this morning and rebooked at POFQ for June 26-June 30 with the dining offer. It isn't quite as good as you would think. It is based on rack rates, not the Spring Fling rates currently going on or the Spring PIN I had. It has to be a package and is only QS dining plan, but it still saves me $150 if I added the QS dining to my earlier reservation.

We bit the bullet and canceled our May 4th trip. The only date left himself could take a vacation was the end of June, and the only loops open (today when I called and online) at this point were the Premium Meadow; our mini-trailer is gonna get lost amongst the big boys there, but we took the week of the 21st. But if Disney is still closed by then, we're out of luck for the next 2 years :(
