I guess it was almost inevitable....

Well DW is working from home for the next two weeks, and I was told late today that I am off for the next two weeks. Hard to remotely operate a backhoe. So we will settle in, drive the dog and each other insane and at the end of this be ready to go back to work.

I hope you had a chance to stock up at the state liquor store....

Pretty sure a backhoe only has 1 seat. That makes it easy to maintain your 6ft official "social distance". While logic seems to be lost on most people right now, it's worth a shot. :)

I work at a waste water treatment plant. No working at home for us, as a matter of fact we are dealing with higher than normal daily flow.
By nature of what we do, we pretty much have the social distancing thing covered.:rotfl2:

lol! My nDH is a retired WWTP worker! As he used to say "The city's poop is our bread and butter" and "Turning wastewater into your next cup of coffee".

He said it would be easy to do social distancing at a plant. Just go and sit in the grit room!

Yep, had my enclosed cab with radio going. And even if plowing fields, would be in my tractor with radio on....but as you stated, logic is kind of lost. So I will take the time to work on getting projects caught up as the weather looks pretty good over the next couple weeks. I have to work on the base for the Disney lamp, that I got from the generous people here on Dis. So the milk can needs to be stripped and repainted. As long as Amazon keeps delivering filament, I will work on my Star Wars projects, printer is running non stop 24/7 for now.
DW is upstairs in her home office, just the dog and I downstairs for now. Maybe it is time to make a new Disney calender to be printed, could do an 18 month one. So little to do, so much time......

Well, the powers that be have decided that the waste water plant is not "immune" to this issue, so we are now working split shifts. I get 2 weeks off paid.

My nDH (former WWTP Operator) is SO glad he's retired. You just keep on turning that wastewater into our next cup of coffee!

With so much new info coming out about the Covid 19, it's hard to keep track off everything. However, at my employment, our workload is way down. It's starting to become hard to walk into work.

I had 1 service call this week (normally around 5-7 calls) and 2 in office projects. The one project will hopefully be completed tomorrow afternoon. The other is waiting on parts from China of all places. We had a few phone support calls. I do not know when or what the state is going to do next. Restrict travel? Shut us down? My solo service call was out of state. The place was another state run university which is closed for the most part. The research lab is the only functioning program on campus. My contact said "who knows what's going on there" Since I will need to order a part for the repair, I will be going back but now my contact said take your time no rush. From my understanding sales essentially dropped to nothing over the week. Today was a huge UPS day of 5 packages going out. The other day it was just 3 including my item I was shipping form what the warehouse guy told me. According to management, it is worse than 2007 and 2008. My boss said at least people still called for new printers or supplies. Now they don't even call.

My personal observation is most people are stunned. Some may want to ignore or pretend anything is happening. Unfortunately, I am seeing this when I leave the house for the day. Truthfully, I am finding what is going on depressing.

NJ got the lock down notification on Saturday afternoon. My employer sent out a text to the employees saying after reviewing the order we are not affected by it. However they put a series of new operating procedures in place for the time being. We are a B2B wholesale company supporting an entirely different industry in which many of our customers are working reduced hours to begin with. Management stated they will review accordingly and modify as needed. Most of our customers are within the lock down area to begin with! We may indirectly support certain sectors but we are not privy to those entities. We do have one or two local governments but they stocked up last week stating they want to have supplies on hand for creating signage as needed during the outbreak.

On the other hand, doing 85-90 on the highway is the new norm....
