I got my Alien Green Mickey Head---now what???

Warning: Stupid question ahead!

How do you laminate them? I thought I saw some little laminating kits at one time at Target with the other office/school supplies but I can't seem to find them now.

We got the alien green mickeys but I have no clue where/how to laminate?

They also are great to use in your Disney scrapbooks (just don't put them right on a photo since they are not acid free).

You can buy laminating paper at Wal-mart or Target for a few dollars a roll. I need to find a Home Depot. We don't have one in my town. Can you get them from Lowe's?

I have a question...has anyone thought about putting the heads on the outside of their hotel room door? I didn't know if Disney would frown upon this or not...what do you think...it isn't like anyone would knock on your door...I wouldn't but at least if I saw you leaving or coming and you had one on your door I would say "hey"...

They have laminating kits at the craft stores. I bought one for about $0.90. It's a small package of laminating sheets good for IDs and such. You just place the item between the two sheets and cut off the excess. I plan to use it for my DD's ID/contact card that I made for her while we are on vacation. I'm off to Home Depot in the morning. Thanks for the great ideas.

Any of you that are planning on heading out to Home Depot to get your Mickey heads are going to be amazed! I got to Home Depot at least 2 or 3 times a week. And, I go to 3 or 4 different ones. Everyone is either out of the Alien Green , or very low, compared to all the other colors! I am sure they must wonder why they are constantly having to restock that color, when they probably do not sell very much paint in that color!

I too punch holes in the center and string ribbon through them and attached them to all our luggage, dangled them from our stroller and stuck them in our resort window and on the door! we met soo many people!! it was AWESOME! This was such a neat idea! DH and i had a blast meeting all the new people!!

I must say thought that i may be banned from my Home depot soon as every time i go i always have to grab a handful of Alien Green Mickey's!! so if you are ever in Rockford and there are no more, i apologize! i'm an Alien Green Mickey Head Thief in hiding!! I'll have to go in there in disguise next time!

Disney doesn't frown about anything being put on the door as long as it cleans off when you leave!! we had a message board on our door with our mickey heads and a nuch of people Dis people included left us messages daily! it's a fun idea that everyone should try! we did this on our cruises as well on the DCL! WHAT FUN!

What kind of board? Was it a dry erase with a magnet on the back?

I had made a 12 x 12 scrapbooking page that I hung on our door with a pen. On the page was a poem, "Sebastian is red and Belle's dress is yellow, pick up my pen and give me a Hello!"

I got 2 whole pages of autographs from people passing our room (the front desk and some characters signed it too!). Anyone who left a room number came back to their room that night to a Home Depot Alien Green Mickey thank you note taped to their door.

I also wrote THANK YOU on them and left them with the Mousekeeping tip.

I left the backs on, I didn't bother to try to separate them.

I thought I remember reading this several months ago....somebody takes the lime green mickey head, glues flexible magnet to the back, trims off the excess, and "sticks" it to the outside of their hotel door. I think they said the hotels just don't want you taping anything to the doors as it adds to the wear and tear and leaves a sticky residue.

I am thinking about scanning the lime green mickey head and enlarging it so I can write my favorite phrase on it.....GIDDYUP then laminate it(at Kinkos??) and hang it or attach it in some way to our stroller.

We have used the Mickey heads before (laminated and hung on our backpacks) and no one responded. So this time this is what we are using to identify ourselves as DISers.

We will be there April 2 - 11.

Stephanie--> yes it was a magnetic wipe board! we found it to be too small, but so much fun anyways!

i am liking the scrapbooking pages though! a very cute idea! we were thinking of Butcher Block paper the length of the door for this year! with a pen taped to it. And making some kind of border around it with the Green mickey heads!

Ughh i can't wait until november!!

For our Disney cruise in 2004 I took the alien green mickey head off the card and used red, white and blue heads to make a Texas flag piecing them together using the white as the background. I punched a star in the blue and then I glued my "flag" to the alien green head, had it laminated at the printing shop my daughter works at, punched a hole in the top and put a key chain holder thru the hole and hung it on my bags--all of them. It made it very easy to find my luggage at the airport and when we boarded the Wonder it identified us as Disers.

This is what I did .....

I got the Mickey head paint chips from HD
I scanned them on the computer to make them bigger
Printed out the larger Mickey head and trimmed it up
Traced the Mickey head onto a piece of neon green poster board
Trimmed them up and put them back to back
Wrote my name and address on them in black marker
Laminated them
Punched a whole in the ear
Used them for a luggage tag

And if you look on the devil child's stroller you will see my finished product
