I finally found a way to get DH excited about Disney! - ADDED LINK TO TRIP REPORT

Hi Amanda! :yay:

I decided to come over from the ADR changers thread to here about your trip!

Reid is such a cutie! My son has those same action figures:goodvibes

Disney races, how exciting! I think I'm going to ask DH to do the couch to 5k with me. He keeps saying he wants to be in better shape so maybe we can motivate each other.

We had a date night to see Hunger Games too. I  the books and I thought the movie was really good. I can't wait to see who they cast as Finnick :rolleyes1

I love the looks of POFQ! So pretty! I'm sure OKW will be lovely too.

I will look forward to more!

That's awesome that you're king a 5K. I would love to try one of the marathons next year, maybe the stroller division.

I love making lists for Disney! Right now I have started a packing list, list of ADRs, shopping list before the trip and things to buy during the trip, plus working on a daily itinerary.

Hi! Thank you so much for coming on over here! :goodvibes

Thank you! I love that they have those little action figures for the little guys. Reid loves all of his & plays with them ALL of the time!

I'm very excited and a little nervous. Y'all should definitely give the Couch to 5K program a try. I'm on week 3 right now. If I can do this, so can y'all....trust me!

We had a date night to see Hunger Games too. I  the books and I thought the movie was really good. I can't wait to see who they cast as Finnick :rolleyes1

I was so happy with how well they did with the movie. I agree....I'm very anxious to see who will play Finnick. Should be interesting!

I love the looks of POFQ! So pretty! I'm sure OKW will be lovely too.

It does indeed look pretty! The more pictures I see of OKW, the more excited I get about staying there.

I will look forward to more!

Life is a little hectic right now but I really am hoping to do some updating soon. Please bear with me.

Thanks! I'm excited to get to participate in the 5K.

Lists are my favorite part of vacation planning! :goodvibes

Sorry I haven't done an update this week. Life is quite hectic and will probably be that way for the next 3 weeks or so.

I can't remember if I said this earlier or not but as some of you may know, we've been in the process of building a house. We signed the purchase agreement on the house back in January. At that point, it was just framed & was getting a roof. Anyway, we had our home inspection & punch list walk through this past Tuesday. We had lots of little things for the builder to fix but nothing major. We were supposed to be closing this coming Tuesday, May 1st. But, now we're closing next Friday instead to give our builder a few extra days to get things done correctly. Plus there have been some confusion with utilities & such that I'm trying to get figured out. So, I have been pretty consumed with all of the house stuff this week.

Even though I don't have a real Disney update tonight, I can update y'all on something related to our Disney trip: my progress with the Couch to 5K program. Tonight, I finished Week 3, Day 2. I just wasn't feeling it tonight but I'm just glad I got out there & did it. I have never in my life been into running so I have to say that I'm surprised that I've been able to stick with it. I really do think the thought of racing at Disney is motivating me to not give up. Hopefully, I'll complete the program by the 1st or 2nd week of June. And then, I can focus on upping my mileage. I am determined to get back to Disney in February for the Princess Half! After all, Ed has a tutu with his name on it! :lmao: I think that would be a shorter trip for us. And we'll have to find someone to accompany us so that Reid can have a babysitter during the race. Wonder how hard it'll be to find an adult to accept an all-expenses-paid WDW vacation in lieu of babysitting services. :scratchin We asked my mom, who adores her grandson. But, she already said no because Disney is not her "thing." :confused3

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in & let y'all know that things are a little busy & I'm sorry for the lack of an update. I would like to promise one coming up soon but next week doesn't really look any better. We're supposed to start moving after we close next Friday (May 4th) and I haven't even started packing up our house. :rolleyes1

So, please bear with me. I appreciate you all reading along! I will pop in & give quick updates & promise to do a Disney update as soon as life gives me time! :grouphug:

Wow, sounds like yall have had a lot going on! How exciting that you get to move into your house soon! Good luck with all the packing and moving stuff, whew, sounds like a lot of work for sure.

Congrats on your program! It sounds like you're doing awesome. Um, I volunteer! Pick me! :rotfl:

So excited that your house is almost ready to move in! Moving is never fun, but this time is will be worth it - is the new house far from where you live now?

Hope everything goes smoothly and by the end of next weekend you might be posting from your new home.:goodvibes

Have a great week!! Oh, and congrats on the Couch to 5k! I am doing the walking version.:thumbsup2

Yeah, it's a little busy over here to say the least. Unfortunately, the next 3 weeks will probably be this week. Between the house & Reid's school, I'll be very busy. Thank you - I really need to get packing - hopefully it won't take me too long. :sad2:

Congrats on your program! It sounds like you're doing awesome. Um, I volunteer! Pick me! :rotfl:

Thank you! I just need to stick with it!

A volunteer - great! I'll add your name to my list of possible applicants.

Yeah, I'm actually looking forward to this move. Luckily, our new house is only a few miles from where we currently live. That should make our trips back & forth quick. We'll be moving everything ourselves except for the appliances & very heavy furniture.

Hope everything goes smoothly and by the end of next weekend you might be posting from your new home.:goodvibes

Thank you! I'm just so ready to close & start moving in!

Have a great week!! Oh, and congrats on the Couch to 5k! I am doing the walking version.:thumbsup2

Thank you & you as well! It is a very doable program. I just can't let me talk myself into quitting!

Good luck with your closing......and I will gladly babysit Reid...who turns down a paid vacation :lmao: seriously.....I'm there already...I don't mind. He can come with HRH and I. ALL GOOD! :goodvibes

:goodvibes
congrats on your home and your C25K. I want to do a disney race so much that it may be what i need to actually start that program.

Wow! Congrats on your house! That is a big task, glad it's almost finished!! :thumbsup2 Also, congrats on running! That is awesome! Disney is such a good motivator! :goodvibes

Congratulations on your home! What an exciting yet busy time. Best wishes for you and your family!

Thank you! I know....my mother is crazy! I even told her she didn't have to come to the parks. She could stay at the resort & read. But, no. I appreciate your offer but it's for the race in February that I'll need the babysitter. Ed wants me to consider either using in-room babysitting or just letting him stay home with my mom for that trip. I don't know what to do. :confused3

:goodvibes
congrats on your home and your C25K. I want to do a disney race so much that it may be what i need to actually start that program.

Thank you! I think Disney is the only thing that can motivate me to run. I've never enjoyed running. Not only am I sticking to the C25K program, but I'm kind of enjoying it.

Wow! Congrats on your house! That is a big task, glad it's almost finished!! :thumbsup2 Also, congrats on running! That is awesome! Disney is such a good motivator! :goodvibes

Thank you! I am sooooo ready to close on the house. Feels like went rather quick but the last 2 weeks have drug by. :sad2:

Thank you - I figured if Disney didn't motivate me, nothing would.

Congratulations on your home! What an exciting yet busy time. Best wishes for you and your family!

Thank you! I'm very excited to get into the house. But, you're right, it is very busy. And to add to the house stuff, I have Teacher Appreciation week in 2 weeks at Reid's school & the week after that is the last week of school with the End of the Year Party. Since I'm Room Mom, I also have tons of projects going on for his class as well. Thank you for the best wishes! :goodvibes

Congrats on your new house being nearly ready! How exciting that you'll be able to move in the next week or so. I hope that packing goes smoothly and I know you'll be settled in in no time, and then Disney will be able to take top billing again.

I'm also really impressed with your progress on the C25K program! I kept saying I wanted to do a Disney race, and I'd go out and walk religiously for about a month, then I'd slack off. Keep at it and you'll be racing around the parks in no time! :cheer2: We'll all be here virtually cheering you on!

Amanda, I'm sorry I've been missing...life has just been so busy lately. Congratulations on closing on the house soon...it's always fun to move into a new house. Much pixie dust for the touch-ups to be made and the move in.

Hi, friend! Since you treated Willow to DLR for her bday, you should treat y'all to WDW for your bday & come see us!
Oh, man, you know I would if I could! I was just feeling a bit :( the other day about the fact that we have no WDW or DLR trip in the works and no idea when we might. :sad1:

To me, it's just so exciting! Reid does usually try to help but I eventually get him to just sit & play by me. I'm hoping that this year I'll be able to get it all finished while he's in school. In fact, I may pay a little extra at school for him to stay late that day!
I think the latter is a great idea! I keep meaning to take a day of leave and drop Willow off at school and just do something by myself all day! I have been meaning to do that for about 3 years now!!! :rotfl2:

Actually, on our first trip, a friend was visiting (a mom of one of Willow's BFFs), so she wanted her son and Willow to have some time together. She picked Willow up at daycare that morning and took her to her house to play. And I got to pack in silent bliss all by myself. I have to say that I really did enjoy packing for that trip!

I think it'll be nice to check out. And I have to admit that I'm glad we'll be there for 2 nights instead of just 1 night at Boardwalk. But, when we go in 2014, I'm going to be trying my hardest to trade our Hilton timeshare into a BWV.
Yeah, BWV is AWESOME. I could easily stay there on every trip and never know another resort - except for the price!

Wow - how exciting that it is so close!!!! I know that it must be really stressful though as well.

Amanda, this is so great! I am so impressed with the way you have taken this on and stuck to it.

Um, I know a rather aged babysitter who would need to bring along a 5-year-old girl but would be more than happy to help you out with your little problem there. ;)

You are one busy lady! I volunteer too in my DD's classes, and I like the term 'room mom"! GOod luck with all the house stuff! It sounds very exciting!:thumbsup2

We're running into the same trouble finding a babysitter so Jeremy and I could do a Disney race together. Maybe I need to advertise here on the Dis, seems like there's plenty of interested people.

Good luck with the move! It's always a lot of work, but so worth it to get settled in a new house.

Joining in!

You are going to love POFQ - it's my favorite resort!

We will be there that first week of October as well - staying at AoA - and leaving the kids at home :thumbsup2

Looking forward to more of your plans (and changes - because it's no fun unless you keep tweaking them!!)

How are you doing on the couch to 5K training? I really need something to make me get up that couch and work on myself!!

Congrats on the house! My brother's waiting on the closing of his first house, which hopefully be the first week of June. Just think, now you get to buy some home decor when you go to Disney.:rolleyes1
