I finally found a way to get DH excited about Disney! - ADDED LINK TO TRIP REPORT

Duly noted my friend, no summer trip.... When do we find out about these ADRs....:surfweb:

 I know....I need to get going on the trip details! I'm going to try to kick it off tonight. I've been consumed this week by trying to plan stuff for Teacher Appreciation week for Reid's 2 teachers. At his old school, they would just tell us what kind of gifts to bring each day for the teachers. Well, where he is now, they want the Room Mom to decide all of this & organize for the parents. His class only goes 2 days a week. So, at first, I was just going to tell everyone to bring something small (like flowers or a treat) on the Tuesday & then bring a little bit bigger gift on the Thursday. Some moms were good with this, they wanted to do their own thing (including myself). But now, I have other moms who basically don't want to think about it & just want me to tell them what to do or how much money to give. I don't know what to do! I have tons of ideas for individual gifts but nothing for class gifts. I'm so stressed about it! And the Appreciation week is the same week we should be moving into our new house. Okay, I'm getting off my soapbox/stress tirade. :rotfl:

ETA: I see your latest change! Congrats! Is this a final change?

What wonderful pics of New Orleans...I will get there some day. :goodvibes Looks like you had a great weekend. And how cute is Reid? And that red MM shirt? Max's got the exact same one! :lmao:

OOOOOOHHHHHH new house move    Since you love TARGET...ho bout a Target Giftcard for the big gift. The moms can give $5 and most teachers love Target too....that's what I usually give, and you can make a basket to go with it, with little goodies...easy peasy...

And it's always my final change  I hope so I am super excited, and the kids all agree we should do GF..when you're ready to update we are here awaiting....in the meantime vent away...we are all here for you :grouphug: BTW I think Class moms rock!!! Thanks for all you do!!!

Yes, we should be closing on the house May 1st & will be moving in slowly starting that weekend. I'm starting to stress out a bit with the house stuff, Teacher Appreciation week, end of the year class party, etc....

But, it will all come together. I do like the Target gift card idea. I need to try & talk to some of the moms & see what everyone wants to do.

Final change, huh? :rolleyes1 I think I saw on the RC thread that you've added 3 nights.....at Poly! Good for you! Y'all are going to have a fantastic trip!

I promise to do an update soon! I just want to make sure the DIS is working right before I try to post some long update. Y'all stick around!

Awww, thank you for your sweet words about class moms! It's been fun getting to be there for so much stuff for Reid. It definitely is work & a little bit of stress at times. But, I wouldn't change it! :goodvibes

Good evening my friends!

Remember how I told y'all in my original post that I'm a notorious changer? Well.............I've gone & done it again! :rolleyes1

Okay, here's what went down:

Over the weekend while we were in New Orleans for Ed's race, we got to talking about Disney races. Well, we made an agreement (we shook on it & everything) that if I would try the Couch to 5K program again & stick with it, that Ed would take me back to WDW in Feb 2013 for the Princess races. And, better yet, he would have to run the race with me while wearing a tutu! Yes, that really is part of the deal.

So, I started up the program this week & so far so good. Then, I realized that right now I can easily walk a 5k within the Disney race time limits. Soooo, that made me start thinking about the 5k race for ToT. Which led me to these changes........

Thursday, 9/27: Leave after Ed gets off of work & drive halfway to WDW
Friday, 9/28: Arrive at Disney
Saturday, 9/29: I will now be doing the 5k race at 7:30am! Ed's 10 mile race is that night.
Sunday, 9/30: We move to Old Key West.

I'm sure inquiring minds want to know where we're staying. Well, with adding on an extra night plus my race registration fee, I wanted to try & keep costs down. So, I have moved us from Boardwalk to Port Orleans French Quarter for our first two nights. The best part? Even with the extra night & race fee, I'm still saving us $40! :woohoo:

I think that is the last of my changes. But, yeah, I don't make any promises! :lmao: Wish me luck with my training for this race. If Disney doesn't motivate me to run, nothing will! :rotfl2:

I like this change. I'm not a big fan of that "clown" pool at the Boardwalk and the serpent slide at the POFQ is so cute...I think Reid will really like it.

Wow good for you guys!! That sounds like an amazing reason to train for a race. I used to run alot too, but since kids, I have slacked off in that department. :sad2: Oh well, maybe a WDW race could be my inspiration too!:thumbsup2

Thanks! I really want to stay at Boardwalk one day but that clown pool does freak me out! :scared1: My only worry with POFQ is that we live in south Louisiana, so I hope we're pleased by how Disney has done New Orleans.

Thank you! :goodvibes I figure this may be the only thing to ever motivate me enough to stick with working out. :lmao:

Oh that is so exciting, and not only do you have a Disney motivator but seeing your hubby in a tutu probably helps too;)

Good Luck with your training:goodvibes

That's awesome! Good for you! I've had quite a few friends find success with the Couch to 5K.

We LOVED POFQ. It's not a deluxe, but it's really pretty. Have you stayed there before?

Do you still get your bonus trip for the princess too? Would love to see pics of Ed running in his tutu!:lmao:

Congrats on the running. I completed the couch to 5k and do 5k runs 3 times a week before breakfast.

And if I could find a lady to take me to WDW I would wear a tutu or princess outfit everyday:rotfl:

Okay so this is my 1st response to any TR or PTR ever..not that i have been around for that long on here but...;) anyway, saw the lsu shirt your husband had on in the first post and saw southern LA and thought ME TOO! yayay! anyway, good for you for training for the 5k! i so should do the same...i even think it will help with walking all those miles in Disney!:woohoo:
Anyway, I am not sure where in Louisiana you are from but I saw you are looking at driving half way and thought hey that's kinda what we do! So i thought i'd throw this out there. we ALWAYS drive from new orleans to orlando. But our first night we stop in lake city. about 3 or 4 hours outside orlando. It's our little tradition- we stay at the same hotel, eat at the same restaurant, and watch a disney movie everytime! In the morning we get up early, stop by our hotel to "check-in" (of course the room isnt ready that early) then head to the park! We love our little ritual. So i dont know where or if you already have a plan for "half way" but if not, driving from down here this works so well for us. Good luck planning and 5k training! Everything i read sounds awesome so far!:thumbsup2

Thank you! Ed actually started out last summer doing the C25K program & now he loves running. I had started it then too but gave up. :sad2: I think I realize that my problem then was that I was trying to do it in the mornings. Well, I'm not a morning person & the sun is just too much in the summer mornings. I think doing it at night will help me stick to it. And then I can practice morning running later.

We LOVED POFQ. It's not a deluxe, but it's really pretty. Have you stayed there before?

This will be our 1st time staying there! For whatever reason, the PO resorts are the only mods that really call to me. I'm excited to try it out. I chose FQ over Riverside because it's smaller & seems more peaceful.

Do you still get your bonus trip for the princess too? Would love to see pics of Ed running in his tutu!:lmao:

Absolutely! Although, that trip wouldn't be nearly as long as this one. We'd go and run and maybe do a day or 2 of parks. I'm motivated to get him in that tutu!

Congrats on the running. I completed the couch to 5k and do 5k runs 3 times a week before breakfast.

Thank you! And congrats to you as well! I think being registered for the race will motivate me to keep going.

And if I could find a lady to take me to WDW I would wear a tutu or princess outfit everyday:rotfl:

Well, tell you're wife you'll wear a tutu in a WDW race & maybe she'll agree! :lmao:

Welcome neighbor! I'm so honored to be the 1st PTR you comment on! That's funny.....I always get excited about seeing other LA peeps on here, too! We were just in your neck of the woods Easter weekend for the Crescent City Classic!

anyway, good for you for training for the 5k! i so should do the same...i even think it will help with walking all those miles in Disney!:woohoo:

Thank you! It's so hard to get going, right?!? I really think/hope that being registered for the race is going to make motivated to not quit.

We are in Lafayette, so we have are a couple extra hours. But, I'm going to have to see how far it is to Lake City from us. That may be a good stopping point for a night.

I'd say good luck, but then I kind of feel sorry for Ed... I guess I'm on the fence about this one. :lmao::rotfl2:

Looks like a great plan. I've said before that they only way I'm going to run is if I'm being chased by a bear... but I guess running through Disney might actually make it enjoyable. :thumbsup2

I look forward to reading about your next changes.:rolleyes1

Hey, he's the one who made the agreement. No need to feel sorry for him! :lmao: Today, at lunch, he tried to throw in a stipulation that if we make it to the Princess run I can't take any pics of him in the tutu. I said, "Nope. Sorry! No stipulations can be made after it's already been shook on!" :rotfl2:

Thanks! Being chased by a bear would definitely provide some motivation to run! :rotfl: I hope Disney is enough for me. :lmao:

I look forward to reading about your next changes.:rolleyes1

Hopefully, that's the last of the changes. Or at least for the major stuff. :sad2:

What a great change it in plans:thumbsup2 I am so jealous you are going to do Disney races before me:snooty:, but I am very happy for you anyway:)

I have told DH repeatedy that if I am not pregnant within the next 2-3 months I am doing the half in Feb. but he just sort of brushes me off. He seems to think I can't do a half marathon and not pass out:confused3 Maybe I'll see you there. Would Ed do the Half Marathon in Feb? I would be willing to take extra photos for you since you can never have too many of your DH in a tutu.

Isn't the Couch to 5K great? I am so happy it is working out for you and getting you more Disney time.:goodvibes

HELLO!!!!! It feels like I have been gone forever! :scared1:

LOVED the New Orleans pics. I haven't been since I was a kid - hope to go back someday!
