All caught up... again. This weekend was super busy but as it stretched into Monday & Tuesday (no school due to the storm) I thought I'd have plenty of DIS time, but not so much.

I'm so sorry to hear about all of your friends who are going through tough times. My thoughts are definitely with you & all of them.

We made out fine in the storm. Very windy & rainy but we only had small branches come down in our yard. We never even lost power, which is highly unusual. There's a tree down on a house around the corner from us, but it looks like it mostly went across the yard & just the top, lighter branches are on the house. It could have been much worse... and was in many other areas. Thoughts are with those who faced floods & fires.

Oh the trolley. We finally saw the show this summer, it was something I always wanted to see. Ready for some more pictures, this cold weather really makes me long for summer, and it is not even November!

We've had trees in our neighborhood downed during storms, too, but so far, my trees have stood firm. It is horrible to see a house or car that has a big tree on top of it. I just think of the fact that people could have been in there! Mother Nature is a strong and sometimes scary force!

Very fun! I wanted to see Lion King in the spring, but I don't know if that will happen. I really have to be extremely frugal all year to be able to go on next year's December trip. Everything costs more in December.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for Russell and his family. His body was laid to rest yesterday. He will be very much missed by his church family, as he was in the midst of many activities, usually in the kitchen. Now the family regroups and learns how to move on. He and his wife were helping their oldest daughter raise her son. That little guy will miss his grandpa, for sure.

There has been a lot of illness and loss lately, it seems. In the past few months I have known or known of several who are fighting illnesses or who have suffered loss. My thoughts and prayers are for them just to be comforted by the people who surround them and care for them and to find strength and happiness little by little in the days ahead. This is the first holiday season without Joan, and that is being felt in a big way by many, but all will get through and be stronger on the other side of it.

I just put out the spread for my kids. We won't have a party, but after a shortened Math lesson, we will have a snack and a movie. They have not been too wound up - so far.

Dodging the day after Halloween would be even better. That way you don't have to confiscate candy all day. We arranged to take a field trip tomorrow to avoid that problem.

While I had been off on my photo walk, the girls had been waiting patiently - with the help of strawberry lemonade slushes - for Merida.

The coloring area.

Nice and shaded.

The bears shown in those pictures were not there in October, and Bella, in her southern drawl, asked Merida, "Where's your bay-ers?" I was not close enough to hear the answer, though, about where those little mischief-makers had run off to.

Does Bella have an interest in doing the bow and arrow?

Brooklynn was so thrilled to be able to do the bow and arrow.

She decided to be Merida for Halloween, mostly based upon getting to purchase the bow and arrow set to go with it. She wasn't allowed to take it anywhere (Disney or home trick or treating), but she was dead-set on being Merida. We tried to tell her there would be a gazillion Meridas, and we suggested other things she could be that would be more unique, but she made up her mind and remained quite satisfied with her choice all through Halloween.

I like to give the Photopass guys some 'props', since they take the pictures all day and aren't in them.
