Up first- Yak and Yeti.
I have to admit that I was a little worried about this one. I heard so many mixed reviews on the place, but still wanted to try it. So I guess I didn't have high hopes going in, but it was great!
I have tried to take pictures of all of the menus. Some turned out, others didn't. I'll post what I can. And it seems that my pics ended up HUUUGE. But in the interest of getting started, here it goes...
Yak attack:
Mango Daiquiri, Bacardi Light rum, and wild berry flavors.
DH loved this. It was very sweet, too sweet for me. But like I said, he really enjoyed it.
Bonsai Blast:
Skyy vodka, DeKuyper Banana Liqueur, PeachTree Schnapps, Blue Curacao, and Sweet and Sour
I loved this. Kinda like a tropical margarita. The sour mix was a great compliment to the banana and peach.
Pork Pot Stickers:
With Soy Lime dipping sauce
DH thought these were pretty good. Not great, but good. I didn't try them as I don't like pot stickers
Lettuce Cups:
Minced chicken breast, Chopped Vegetables, Saigon Hoisin sauce, crisp lettuce cups.
I was a little worried when this came out. The chicken was a little more minced than I was thinking it would be, and I thought it kinda looked like cat food. But it was sooo good. The lettuce was super crisp, the meat was great, and the cilantro and carrots were great.
Duck with Anandapur Glaze:
Roasted half duckling, orange wasabi glaze, jasmine rice, and stirfried veggies.
DH was in heaven! This is the first time he has ever had duck, and he loved it! Cleaned the plate, even. He said the glaze was fabulous. There was a ramekin of it on the side of the plate, and he used it with the duck, the rice, and the veggies. The veggies were good, still really firm. We both hate mushy vegetables, so it was good.
Shaoxing Steak and Shrimp:
Skirt steak, tempura battered shrimp, jasmine rice, stirfried veggies, chili plum dipping sauce
I really liked this. I ordered it rare, knowing it was too thin to get that way. I just wanted it as rare as possible. It came out medium rare, which was great! The shrimp were good. Cooked just right. The veggies were still crisp, and the Jasmine rice was good, although I didn't eat much of it. I wanted to save room for dessert!
Okay, it seems our dessert pictures are missing. But I will try to explain them as best as possible:
Mango Pie:
Shortbread cookie crust, rasberry sauce and fresh whipped cream
Can you tell DH is a mango fan? He really liked this. It was sweet, but not too much
Fried Wantons:
skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons with honey vanilla drizzle, served with vanilla ice cream
I liked these. The warm pineapple was great, and the wontons were good. The sauce was a little too sugary sweet for me, but otherwise they were great.
