Ugg! Sorry for the title.......:scared:

I have a few questions that I am wondering about………..here’s the situation-- we have two studios at AKV in August--two reservation numbers. It was going to be just the five of my family………..now my DGF is thinking about joining us with her 2 boys…..we will now have 8 total b/w the two rooms.

Here are my questions:

1. Dining Plan---do all 8 of us need to be on the same plan or can we do different things? (obviously everyone on the same reservation would need to be on the same plan).........my DS11 will stay with her & her 10 & 8 y/o boys. We would just pay OOP for his meals. (we also have DDE so we are still a bit up in the air as far as what we want to do meal wise)

2. We will be staying for 10 days, DGF & her boys would probably only stay 7 days……..(we will still have both rooms for the 10 days). Should I put her name on the ressie w/ me & DH’s name on ‘her’ ressie? I am thinking about check-in/check-out issues.

3. If I can ‘switch’ names will this matter as far as ME, DDP & EMH goes? DH would technically not have the same meal plan as us, right?

Am I missing anything else where this wouldn’t work? Sorry for the rambling---I just can't get my brain around some of this.

TIA! :flower3:

You're right about the dining plan. The people on any single room reservation all have to book the same dining plan for all of the days of the reservation.

As far as which names are on the reservations. If your friends will be using ME, they will have to be listed. Which room will have their names is up to you, and I suppose if you can keep track of the keys, your DH could be listed on their room, as you say, for check in purposes. When it's your DS and your friends, your DS will use his dad's card. I would probably not have any charging privileges on any of the cards, just to be safe.

Best wishes! I hope the room issue is all the complications you have on this trip!

PS. Once my DH left me and I still had one night in BCV studio. My 3 friends came to join me for that last night. I couldn't have the 5 names on the studio, but I had told MS that DH would be checking out and my friends would be coming. On that afternoon, the front desk had to actually cancel my original reservation, and rebook the room with my friends. For days afterward, on line, my points were a mess. There were points in holding for the cancelled reservation, but eventually everything was right. If MS can do it for you now, I would break up the reservations into the 2 parts, with the "correct" people in each room during the appropriate times. Of course, that could/would mean you would be checking out/in. I hope you decide what's best for you.

When I had my revolving carousel of siblings joining me last October, the Front Desk kept adding and deleting names on the ressie. The max they could have on our studio was 5 names. No cancelling of reservations was required, but I did have to get new keys made when we extended last minute.

I only had charging privileges on my room key and used the DDE. Dining Plan gets too complicated for us normally.

Can you just have your DH and DS on the ressie with your DGF? The other kids don't have to have room keys until they get there. If not, then I'd split the ressie based on time the DGF will occupy. That way you could do the DP for DH and DS up until she checks in.

Thanks, that's what I thought. As far as which names are on the reservations. If your friends will be using ME, they will have to be listed. yep, we will do that

Thank-you for your help!

We will have 5 the whole time, so we need the two rooms for all ten days anyways. I'm thinking this is how it might work.........

Me, DGF, my DS6 & DS4 on one ressie---we could do the DDP then & pay for our DS11 OOP.

DH, my DS11, DGF DS10 & DGF DS8 on the other ressie--DGF could do whatever she wishes for meals w/ her & her two boys.

That way there shouldn't be any additional check-in/check-out right?

Will I be able to get their room keys upon our check-in?

As we will have both rooms for the ten days, my 5 shouldn't have EMH issues right?

Heavens--I think I am talking myself into circles! :lmao:

Me & my big mouth! :rotfl:

I checked in a party of 8 last year and received everyone's room key. We were in a 2br not different rooms. We actually arrived about 2 hrs apart in 3 vehicles. I let the other families apply their credit cards when they arrived. We were all family, but I was not going to be responsible for their charges. I did pay for the DDP, then they paid me back.

that's good to know, thanks!

My understanding is that only the people listed on the reservation can check in and pick up keys. (When I had friends with me staying in a separate room on my points, the desk would not even tell me what room number they were in.) So if you do it like you say here, your husband could pick up the key, but not you! :)

Hi. I am staying at BCV for 7 days with my DH and my sister and her son will be coming for Days 4-7. My DH and I are on the DDDP. Is it possible for her to be added to the reservation when she arrives on Day 4 and start a Dining Plan then with her DS? Its a 1BR villa so we're not over the room max but I'm not sure how the dining plan issue would work.

Thanks
Mila

Everyone on the reservation has to have the same dining plan for all of the days of the reservation. If you just wanted days 4-7 to be with them on the plan, you would have to have a reservation for those dates with her.
