I am yet to see the woman who looks better with bangs than without

Some women look good both ways - like I said - always change it up! :thumbsup2

I had bangs my whole life and a few years ago grew them out. Since they take so dang long to grow out, I have been hesitant to try them again.

I may cut some again when I try a new style after summer.

I think it depends on your face shape, hair type and the type of bangs you want.

The wispy bangs that are sort of in right now look nice on many people I think.

whoops, I posted under DD's username. First of many...

My hairdresser provides a free bangs trimming too. At $139 a haircut at a posh Fifth Avenue salon, she'd better! Of course, I tip her when she does trim my bangs. She's wonderful about sliding me in between appointments.

:faint: Well, my people are getting a steal! :rotfl:

I do think bangs can offer a softness that a lot of women need and want.

I've never not had bangs. I never will not have bangs.

No bangs for me. My hair is curly - when I had bangs they turned into "wings" with each piece flying in its own direction!

Oh yeah, no bangs for me. I'd like to say never, but I did have them as a girl. My hair is naturally curly and I will venture that's not a great hair type to have bangs. Certainly not on me. If you let them dry naturally, they are like little sausage drapes across your forehead! :) When I was younger my mom would blow the bangs out with a round brush and then hairspray, so the bangs were pretty much just in one rounded curl across my forehead if that makes sense - but it was a totally different look than the rest of my hair, which was in little spirals and waves. Just not flattering. Never again and not since probably sixth grade will I have bangs.

That said, I sometimes envy straight-haired ladies because I think bangs, especially side-swept, can be flattering on many, and I think there's much more flexibility on the bang situation. :)

I'd like to be able to wear bangs because I have a high forehead, but I don't have enough hair to pull it off. If I had the hair, I'm sure I'd look much better with bangs.

My DH HATES bangs and prefers me without them. I've never tried them b/c of it...

I personally do not look good with bangs. I like side swept bangs on women, but I do not like bangs cut straight across the forehead. I have only seen a couple of people that actually good with those, but that is only my personal opinion.

Gah I hate all those kinds of "absolute" fashon rules. Some woman do look horrible with bangs and some look good.

I happen to like the way I look with bangs. Most people have a forehead. Me? I've got a fivehead. It's Huuuuuuge. Without bangs I look like a walking billboard.

I omitted the photo because it was big to load.

But, honey, you'd be beautiful in bangs or without. heck, you'd be pretty with a bag on your head! You are as pretty as women come! And your 2 girls--they are gorgeous. Your DH is surrounded by beauties. :)

I think it really just depends on the person. I remember being little and having bangs--I hated them. I wanted to cut them off, thank goodness someone stopped me before I did. So in my early teen years I let them grow out and had an awful middle part. My hair is very thick and straight so it made me look like I had just rolled out of the 60s Hippie Era. Not pretty. Then I got long side bangs and it worked! The bangs hit me a little lower than my cheekbone and "faded nicely with the rest of my hair", in the words of my hairdresser. Now, I have long layers throughtout my hair and a side part (works wonders, Ladies!) and my hair looks better than ever. Long layers are the way to go because it fakes having nice subtle bangs without actually having them! :)

Is it a rule that if you have long hair and no bangs you HAVE to part your hair down the middle? B/c I have long straight hair and part it on the side, but I have no bangs. [:) This is a joke b/c so many "w/o bangs" photos have middle-parted hair and I haven't had middle parted hair w/no bangs since I did pony tails in kindergarten]
I have had hairdressers cut bangs a few times, but b/c I have a "four-head" they tend to be very whispy and irritating (and they don't really look much like "real bangs" in my opinion). In college, I had a Mia Wallace haircut (Uma in Pulp Fiction) and it looked fab on me for about a month until the bangs started to grow out. I don't think I have had bangs since then.

We all have bangs, some are just longer than others ;)

LOL! That is what I tell the kids when I am cutting their hair in the front--"now I am going to cut your bangs, " They usually do a quick panic thinking I'm going to give them some bangs! :rotfl: What can I say? A straight haircut all the way around (long) is boring. I have to amuse myself somehow! :rotfl:

 thanks--I needed that!
