For the last 2 or 3 weeks, my three oldest daughters (11, 9 and 7) can not, for the life of them, seem to get along WITH ANYONE! Their job on Friday afternoons is to clean their rooms for the weekend. I realize that they have swimming lessons (practice for some) on Tue and Thu and church on Wed, all science projects are completed and turned in and with the warm weather, they are tired. Tired of school and tired of work. Each day has gotten progressively worse than the day before. I have a migraine headache from the time they climb into the car after school to the time we pull up in the driveway! You are talking a 5 minute ride and they are already at each other's throats.

So, with today being Friday, they had to clean their rooms. I have heard nothing but yelling, stomping and slamming doors since they started. I did not go intervene, but I did sit down and type out a memo to each one stating what unconditional love was and until they could show myself and each other some compassion and respect....I am on strike. I will not cook for them (they can make their own sandwiches). I will not take them anywhere, help them with their homework, wash their laundry. I did not say a word, just handed them the paper and walked away. After about 10 minutes of them crying that I did not love them, they have decided to pull together to get dinner. They are in the process of learning how to make pancakes and scrambled eggs. They are working as a team, laughing with each other, but most of all, they are getting along!!!!! I don't know how long this will last, but right now I am liking this strike thing.

I think it will last until Sunday! Happy weekend all!
