I am A Little Dissapointed... UPDATE....

I would be disappointed too! I hope all works out for you! :Pinkbounc

LisaZoe -- your daughter is one of the most precious Princesses I've ever seen! :p She's adorable! :cloud9:

I think the DIS has some of the cutest kids! :p

Hope you can get the animal kingdom! I would be disappointed too. That is a major difference and they should honor your request as it was your original request to be in the AKL!

Good Luck!

Hi Guys and Gals

Thank you so much for all your support, just thought I would fill you in with an update.

I have spent over 4 hours on the phone today with the tour operator(all of which were made by me with no offer of a call back) and I think I have to admit defeat. They are adement that they do not have to upgrade me(I never once told them that they had to) just asked them was there anythingthey could do for me as they were all the same company operating under different names. This is what they told me , I could:
1. Cancelmy exsisting holiday and rebook the new one but lose 50% of my original payment.(not an option£900)
2. They would upgrade me to The Animal Kingdom Lodge for an extra payment of wait for it...£1180, making this a total of over £3000 even thou they are advertising it on the web at £1778.(Again not an option)

I asked them then if they did a pricematch guarentee which they told me they would if I found a better deal, I repeted that the better deal was with one of their companys but was informed they could not do that as they are the same company. How hipercritical (sp) is that!!! After telling me for three and half hours that they were not the same company.

I went to my TA who I have to say tried really hard for them to meet me half way but they stood firm. They would not even give me the address of their head office or allow me to speak with a manager. Since being home I have found the head office address myself on the web and I have written a letter to their Group Cheif Executive to see if there is anything he can do, but I very much doubt it. I also noticed as well today that they are not only offering the Animal Kingdom at the same price I have paid for the All Stars plus The All stars £600 cheaper than I have paid, lets not forget these are the exact same flights, but they have also now remove the flightsuppliments for any holidays booked for August, I paid £80 each total extra of £180 for the pleasure of booking way in advance in flight suppliments.

I am drained to say the least, but I can not for my daughters sake let this put a black cloud over our forth coming holiday. We will still go with the same vigor and enthusiasim as we had planned, but I have to say this has left a sour taste in my mouth.

Thanks agian for all your support and should I hear back from anybody I will let you know.

Sue

So sorry Sue. I would however not let it destroy my vacation. Just pretend like the AKL was never an option. I would make sure that they know that they have lost my business and that of my friends as well.

Also that you will make it well know that they do not go out of their way for their clients.

Hope you can put this behind you (as rotten of a deal it is) and really have a good time in WDW.

Regards,

Thanks Lisa
I am really going to enjoy this holiday and I know my daughter will enjoy her birthday suprise too. As I have said we have stayed at The All Stars before and have always had a good time, I was just thinking maybe I should post a thread on the uk dis boards telling them about this fantastic offer in case anybody is looking for a great deal at short notice, at least then somebody will experience the pleasure of staying at The Animal Kingdom Lodge for a great price or The All Stars as a cheaper option.

Roll on August
:moped:

I skimmed this thread and I"m not really sure of all the ins and outs but I would make it clear to them that you will never use their services again and book directly with Disney or through Dreams. I would also let them know that you use a Disney Board that reaches a wide range of people from the US and the UK and you will let them know how unsatisified you were with their service.

You should also post about this company on the DIS UK board to WARN people about them. Noone should use them if this is how they treat their customers. Then, let it go and enjoy yourself. You won't be using them again, right?

I am so sorry to hear that the company is not being more accomadating for you. I too feel that there is no reason why they can not change your package to the better deal they are offering. Kudos to you for keeping with the Disney spirit and not allowing this to put a damper on your trip. I look forward to some good news from the tour operators.

Diana/Piglet too
I was just thinking the exact same thing, if I did post this on the UK thread I would never forgive myself if somebody booked with them and had problems, so I think I will leave it, this offer has been on their web for the last 4 days and it is still there so I hope they get stuck with it. As for me I am back to my planning and getting ready for the trip of a lifetime. :jumping2: :jumping2: :jumping2: :jumping2: :jumping2: :charac2: :wizard: :boat: Cheers

Do you have trip insurance? If so can't you just cancel the trip and then rebook? I'n not an expert (nor pretend to be) on how the insurance aspect works, but it may be worth a try.

Never thought of that, Yes I do have trip insurance infact I paid extra to have a better insurance. I am still sure I have to have a valid reason for cancelling thou. I'll just go over my documents and see what I am covered for dont know if it covers changing my mind, but it's worth a look, thanks
