Okay, this may be asking too much....

But is there anything FUN to do on I-95? Other than a certain tacky icky place advertised for hundreds of miles where my family will NOT be stopping?

We're making a long-ish trip of it, stopping over twice. No, we're not "torturing" our kids, we just prefer to keep our driving in manageable chunks, and we both have poor night vision. Since we've got quite a bit of time (particularly between Emporia, VA and Savannah, GA), I'd be interested in stopping for some additional vacation exploration. Our kids will be wild and riled, cause this is a flat out surprise. We've booked hotels with indoor pools, which will be nice, but any playgrounds, historical sites, mini-golf, etc. would be greatly appreciated!!

Suggestions?

There are a lot of Civil War historical sites within about 15 miles of a lot of I-95.

Within a few miles of I95, there's historic Jamestown and Williamsburg, VA. I find Jamestown fascinating, to be honest. Of course, you did mention Savannah, GA, but Charleston, SC is also not that far off I95. Well, it's farther than Savannah off 95, but if you have time and enjoy history, Charleston is worth it. The Cumberland Island Seashore in extreme southern GA is a nice area.

If you open up Google Maps and just browse along I95, you can see lots of cities, parks, etc. along your route.

If you like outlet shopping, try exit 95 in North Carolina. It has been a few years since I have been, but it was a nice way to get in some walking and shopping:)
