I-75 "Issues" This Year???

We're heading down south for our annual Spring Break pilgrimage in an attempt to escape from the winter Ohio "blahs." Unfortunately last year we were set back 4 HOURS due to the disappearance of I-75 for a section in northern Tennessee. I don't want that to happen again this year. That being said...can anyone provide me with an update as to the negative impact of any current I-75 construction projects? Tennessee was the problem last year, but Kentucky and Georgia always have the potential to be trouble also. Any traffic reports would be appreciated. I hate when my vacation time is lessened due to traffic difficulties!

I75 in KY is in good shape right now. Some widening is being done around exit 158 in the northern part of the state-2 lanes maintained.

There will be concrete repair in the Lexington area soon-sometimes 3 lanes down to 1 during the day from 9 to 3-that can be a mess, but occurs at random.

Concrete repair in southern KY between exit 11 and the TN state line-no known backups.

Widening is due to start late this summer from roughly exit 154 to 137 in both directions in preparation for the World Equestrian Games in 2010, 2 lanes will be maintained at all times.

The KY state patrol has been out in force from roughly exit 95 to 76 midstate-they'll give you at least 75 mph though.

They're also widening to 3 lanes each direction in parts of southern Kentucky, sometimes in conjunction with asphalt re-laying and sometimes not. But they typically leave both existing lanes open, with those lovable concrete barriers along the way. You may have to slow down a bit here and there, but there should not be any jams.
