I can totally relate to your sister as when I was younger my sister was always thought of as the older one and I hated it

Your landing sounded very scary, I hate flying more each time I do it too

I was thinking our next trip when my DD's will be 16 & 18 could be our last family trip but doubt it will be

Haha yes! I'm sure it gets annoying from that end, but from my end I love it!! It's such a hard fear to shake too! Even when I have flights that are uneventful i'm still so scared!
NOO! Don't do it! Never have a last family trip planned! I'd give anything to go again right away with my family!!

Chapter 2: Check In!

So we had made it!! WHOOPEE!

For as long as I can remember we have rented a car in Disney so normally that is our first stop at the airport. HOWEVER this time I managed to convince my parents that riding the Magical Express was a much better option and then we only needed to get the car for the smallest amount of time!

I had read many people’s trip reports of them getting lost on the way to the Magical Express area so I went straight up to a security guard in the airport and asked them to point us in the right direction!

So off we went, I was skipping along with my suitcase trying to make my family walk faster…I WANTED TO GET ON THE BUS!

We arrived at the desk and I decided to run/skip through the empty queue! We gave the nice cast member our vouchers and she made sure everything was ready for us! She also gave me some Disney stickers that were “exclusive” to the Magical Express, therefore she told me to take good care of them!

With my stickers at the ready we got into the empty queue for the bus to the Poly! EMPTY MEANS YAY!!! Only one more couple got in the queue after us for the bus!

About 10 minutes later they let us onto the bus! YAYAYAY! I jumped on and got the front row seats! Perfect!

On the Magical Express....IS THIS REAL LIFE?!

We were waiting a while when I realised I hadn’t taken a picture of the bus so I hopped back off to take a picture.



These two cast members were talking when I tried to take a picture and tried to get out the picture when they realised. I told them they didn’t have to move and I wanted a picture with them in it! The woman was so excited, she ran back over to the door to pose! Look at how cute they are!

We were finally ready to go!

I WANT TO WATCH THE MOVIE!!



So I had heard this movie was emotional, you got that right! This is where the title of my trip report starts to come into play, “I’m SO excited I could CRY!” HAPPY TEARS!

Before I knew it we were arriving at the MAGICAL GATES TO HEAVEN!





Then more magical gates!!!





I don’t know whether it was because I was so happy but the bus ride was SO QUICK! I would have happily sat on there for a while longer but I was NOT complaining because…

WE HAD ARRIVED AT THE POLY!!

A nice cast member greeted us at the entrance with some leis!

I had never set foot in the Polynesian before so I had no idea what to expect! But I was greeted with the most amazing SMELL! The lobby was perfect!

We checked in and found out we were in Samoa like we had requested! YAY! We had two separate rooms, one for me and my sister and one for my parents!

We were on the middle floor so we just had a nice window!

I've only been at the Poly for 10 minutes and I've decided I'm never leaving!! Samoa you look lovely today!!

We unpacked, showered and headed out to do some exploring!

I'm SO happy to be at @WaltDisneyWorld this is going to be the most perfect holiday ever!!

The beach was so pretty! Some of the most amazing resorts!





Before I knew it, the time had come for our first ADR!

But where were we going?!

Your pictures of the room are AMAZING. I'm obsessed, I want to stay there so bad! The pool and the beach look incredible too. I'm not much of a pool person at Disney but I would definitely make time to swim there!

The magical express movie is incredible! It gets you so emotionally pumped and sets the tone perfectly for the start of the trip!

I've stayed at the Polynesian before and it really is incredible and I completely understand the smell sticking out because it fits perfectly! But I've never had a room that looks like that from what I can remember (I was there well over 4 years ago

Can't wait to hear about your ADR since food is one of my favorite topics concerning disney!

It's just necessary for me to watch that video every trip and pass under the gates of heaven in classic Disney fashion. "I'm SO excited I could CRY!" is right! Omg awesome update!! Loved it! I made DH promise that for our five year anniversary we needed to stay at the poly. We've never stayed there but it's a dream of ours.

RIGHT! It was the first time so I'm sure it was even more emotional! It made me so so so excited!!
The smell was just amazing!! I wish I could bottle it and smell it every day! Yes the rooms had a renovation earlier on this year! Thanks!! I'm sure you will enjoy it!

I KNOW! I can't believe we have never used it before! Never not using it again! It was perfect! They were so fun those two!
The room was amazing! Loved it!! Haha we didn't even do that! The leis were in the towel Mickey when we got there! Extra magic! So we had double the amount of leis!

Chapter 3: Kona cafe!

It was time FOR FOOD!!!!

We headed back into the Great Ceremonial House (THE SMELL) and browsed through Boutiki until our reservation time came around! I had to resist buying everything on the spot as it was only the first night! But already I was making a mental list of everything I wanted to buy!!

Finally it was time for Kona Cafe!

We checked in and had to wait for just 5 minutes so popped round to Trader Jack’s to browse!

A lovely CM showed us to our table and explained to us how the dining plan worked (as this was our first time on the DDP!!).





She then brought us over the BREAD! I’d heard lots about this bread and always thought “how can some bread be so good?” but I WAS WRONG!



I tweeted:
I'm in love with some bread. Kona bread

That bread is perfect!! (We had 2).

Once we had calmed down from the AMAZING bread our main course arrived!!

My sister had the noodles with chicken which she really enjoyed, however she was so tired she couldn’t eat the whole thing!



My Mum and Dad both ordered the lamb chops and both agreed they were delicious! However they both tried my food and agreed mine was the best!



I ordered the Teriyaki style New York Strip! Now I don’t like fruit at all so was worried about the pineapple glaze BUT was happily surprised how little it tasted like pineapple! I didn’t touch the actual pieces of pineapple though!



I ate the WHOLE thing (minus pineapples)! The rice and sauce together was delicious!!

It wasn’t very busy in the restaurant tonight which I was quite shocked at as it was 7.30pm which to me is prime time!





Tally and Mum decided they didn’t want dessert (even with persuasion from me and our waitress because it was FREE)! Me and Dad went to check out the desserts on the counter!

I went with the obvious choice for a sugar addict…the Kona cone!!



I was so excited to finally try this and it lived up to recommendations! I couldn’t finish the whole thing though as I was so full and tired at this point! Silly jet lag!

My Dad got the crème brulee which he scoffed within seconds!



We finished up and then headed to Captain cook's to pick up our mugs and grab some cereal for the morning! I tried to convince everyone to stay up to watch Wishes from the beach but everyone was knackered so wanted to sleep! We did have an early morning planned!!

NOW don’t get your hopes up for day 2 as I LEAVE Disney!
I know, I’m crazy!! The thing is we had 15 full days and only 14 day tickets, therefore we either got to go the first day, or the last day. I chose last! So we had to find something to do for the first day, stay tuned to find out!
