Hurricane info and DVC/WDW

it is "kissing" cape canaveral, so to speak. Where I am, near Disney Springs, there is some rain and wind, but certainly more akin to a regular thunderstorm.

Looks like Matthew will not do much more damage here than a routine thunderstrom would.
HOPING!:goodvibes

Gov of SC on news and she thinks storm is getting worse for when it comes to coastal SC. Surge will be great.

Seems to be headed towards SC/HHI, but it is predicted to hook away.

As long as it stays off the coast HHI should not be too bad.

Might be OK as far as wind damage goes, but the bigger worry by far will be flooding / water damage from the storm surge. Don't think wind strength is a very good indicator of what the storm surge will be.

I think the people that are able to stay in WDW will have a nice time after today, Friday.. Parks should not be too crowded.

And there should be nice availability of rooms.. with everyone canceling!!

Matthew seems to be headed straight up the coast for now. The Veer is not happening as fast as predicted.

It is a slow moving storm, so HHI is definately at risk now, with almost 100% probability of 50+MPH winds.

The coastal areas of Hilton Head (not the DVC resort per se) are predicted to see storm surges of 3-6 feet.

Just read another thread and answered my own question. Hoping everyone stays safe and dry.

looks like HHI will be directly hit by at least troprical storm grade winds and rain.

Anyone near HHI who can give us some realtime feedback would be much appreciated.

It looks like high tide might be a factor for the HHI area which is bad news for the island.

I hope no lives are lost and that flooding isn't as bad as expected.

what happens if resort is pretty wiped out and they decide not to rebuild? i read something about insurance money being divided up...like what does that mean? i own there.

Matthew is weakening.. but it is still expected to reach HHI at some point.

It could still veer off..

time provides all the answers when it comes to hurricanes.

Matthew is weaker, but HHI looks like it was getting hit hard. Does anyone have any news who is there right now?
