Hungry Are The Damned! 10/15/07-10/25/07 - COMPLETED W/LOTS OF PICS!!!

Brenda - thanks for the cruise advice! I am always lurking out here - I love your posts - and yes the cheesecake brownies are very easy to make, even I make them!!

We leave in just nine weeks for six at OKW. If I knew how to make a ticker I would - technically challenged!!

Now - what's the difference in a balcony or a verandah?

We've frequented BW Bakery many times and I think the cheesecake brownie is my fave!! We did love Casey's, what's not to love?:rotfl: Can't wait for the Bistro review, after reading their menu posted outside I could have kicked myself for not trying it.

If any part of your 15% Imo's self is cheeseburger pizza, that might explain why I like you so much. Mmmmm....

My FIL likes Imo's so much he has them shipped to him here in MI.

We've started discussing a trip back to SL...

Great report, once again.

[SG/Linda - welcome back! :) ]

You have permission to keep the little bugger in line any way you see fit (as long as he doesn't end up drowned ... ;) ). As for the tequilla ... well, consider who he lives with! :lmao:

Oh... God... considder who he's going to CRUISE with!!! I usually don't drink alot at home, but mom and I discussed the cruise over double margueritas at Chili's last night :rolleyes1

Plankton is not a very nice ... organism. He thrives on chaos and destruction - it's really where his talent lies. :rotfl:

Ok... so I'll tip everyone extra... :scared:

Plankton has a plan, my friend; he always has a plan. If he was acting "nice" on the cruise there was a reason. ;)

Yeah... so he could stowaway on MY cruise!!!

Gah! Remind me not to look at sinful baked goods while hungry. :sad2:
Those items looked really good, even the strange candy confetti cake. :)

I'm with you about the brownie and the cheesecake guy inventor:worship: I love cheesecake and the brownie is a bonus. Love your report Brenda as always.

Oh my holy SNORT laugh!!!! I absolutely HOWLED in a most unladylike fashion at that picture of the duck preparing to chomp your leg! Your bravery is astounding...I'd have been running not picture snapping!

Don't get me wrong...I love ducks. Ducks are my favorite bird...I had a duck when I was little...naturally her name was Jemima...Puddle Duck...cuz i was three and had little of my own creativity...and was a major Beatrix Potter fan...anyhow...my theory of WHY the ducks are acting out is because they are in desperate need of boundaries, They haven't been given the proper discipline and guidance a duck needs to operate in polite society...so they get...y'know...crabby...and anxious...and need some therapy and perhaps some xanax...

*ahem*

poor ducks.

:flower3:

hope your serious duck injury didn't stop you from having a fabulous time!!

So glad you are back!!! I too have just returned from a less than stellar posting history. My mom yelled at me though...shamed me...so I'm going to try and keep things on track. When I'm not shaping young minds I'll be pounding out that TR!!!

more please!!!!

*also wanted to add that generally I think birds are jerks too...seagulls are bomb dropping savages...we had a parakeet when I was a child called KILLER due his relentless search for opportunities to draw blood...and once...when I was Central Park...minding my own beeswax a nasty FAT pigeon walked up to me, bold as you please, and he pecked my toe...TWICE...hard...and when I kicked my foot at him, he took one step back and looked at me like "What? You gonna do something about it? Go ahead...make my day..." Yeah...gross. I was afraid I was going to get a birdally transmitted DISEASE!

but I DO like ducks...especially Donald Ducks...and Daisy Ducks...I'm just sayin...

Brenda... are you sure that duck wasn't wearing a blue shirt and a sailors cap?

Thanks for the updates!

I think some drool escaped my mouth looking at those desserts. I started my diet 3 days ago.:sad1: I agree with you 100% about the confetti, I don't like it in my cake either but my kids would have found it to be a great bonus.

As far as birds go, our parakeets are very gentle.:goodvibes However, I have encountered some very savage seagulls. Many a time I've seen them rip into the food of unsuspecting people at the beach who thought that a plastic bag would keep their food safe. And a whole evil gang of them assaulted my car one time - and left it in such a state that is not fit to be described in a thread about food.:scared1:

Looking forward to Bistro. I need all this virtual food to help me with my dieting.popcorn::

Those cakes look absolutely delicious and I have never heard or seen cheesecake brownie before I think a trip to that bakery is in order in August.

We always visit Boardwalk Bakery at least once during a trip to WDW - sometimes we don't actually buy anything (selection seems to vary depending on the time of day you visit) but we always love to look.

I just love it over here. Both erudite and earthy, my favorite combination.

If there are circles of hell does that mean that there are circles of heaven? If so, what do I have to do to reach concierge level? Just wondering.

Oh, SG ... I have missed your comments. :goodvibes You may be the first, and last, person to use the word erudite in relation to anything that I've done. Unless you are referring to the readership, in which case I agree completely.

You know ... I've never stopped to think about circles of Heaven before. I'm not of any particular religious denomination, so most of what I know I either picked up from medieval history and literature classes in college or by asking totally obnoxious but well-meaning questions at wedding ceremonies.

I'm with you ... I'd like to know how to make it to the Heavenly concierge level. :thumbsup2

I make those brownies for my oldest grandson. Only difference is that I swirl the cheesecake part in for a mixed brownie. Easy, trust me.

Duly noted - some day when I feel like cooking again I may give it a go. I think a Bailey's Irish Cream cheesecake would be great mixed with a chocolate brownie, don't you?

Ducks are not so bad. On a plate, covered with la orange sauce they are quite tasty. I do not blame the ducks at DW near as much as I do the folks who insist on feeding them. I have a picture of people doing such with the 'Please do not feed the birds" sign right by their table.

:lmao: I think I've seen a few of those people myself.

I am off to see if I can find my sash cause I am feeling a bit chilly this morning. Send money. True, Goofy can be bought. :rotfl:

I would respond in a better manner but I am currently fighting a beautiful case of pneumonia and lack of breathing has affected what few brain cells I have remaining.

SG/Linda

I'm flattered that you even bothered to respond at all considering how ill you must be right now. I had pneumonia once and it totally sucked ... I hope you start to feel better soon and thanks for stopping by to read.

Brenda - thanks for the cruise advice! I am always lurking out here - I love your posts - and yes the cheesecake brownies are very easy to make, even I make them!!

We leave in just nine weeks for six at OKW. If I knew how to make a ticker I would - technically challenged!!

Six weeks in WDW ... ahhhhh, I can only dream of such bliss. I hope you have a great trip! I would try to help you with a vacation ticker but I, too, am technically challenged. At work, our IT department has a picture of me covered by a circle with a line drawn through it. Strange and bizarre things are always happening to my computer ... sometimes all I have to do is sign on to a program and the whole hard drive will just melt down.

Bad computer karma ... it's a gift. ;)

There is no difference between a balcony and a verandah on a cruise that I know of. I tend to call them verandahs because that's what Disney Cruise Line calls them and that's the cruise line we've sailed. Other cruise lines call them balconies. As far as I can tell they're the same thing. But now you've got me thinking ... what other synonyms are out there for balcony?

verandah ... gallery ... piazza ... lanai ... I think I'll stop now before synonym sickness takes me for its own. :lmao:

We've frequented BW Bakery many times and I think the cheesecake brownie is my fave!! We did love Casey's, what's not to love?:rotfl: Can't wait for the Bistro review, after reading their menu posted outside I could have kicked myself for not trying it.

You must try Bistro on your next visit - it was divine! Overall I would rate it right behind Victoria and Albert's, it was that good.

I am a stick in the mud when it comes to Imos and have never tried their cheeseburger pizza. I have to be careful with Imos ... I love it but now and then for some reason it upsets my delicate innards. Ahhh, the joys of IBD.

I had no idea Imos could be shipped! My brother-in-law in Milwaukee would probably wet himself if he knew that. I'll make a note to remind myself to tell him the next time we see him in person - I want to test my theory that he will indeed wet his pants when he hears the news. :lmao:

A return to Stinktown? You must let me know if anything comes of it ... we could try to find a way to meet and have some chewy beer!

Gah! Remind me not to look at sinful baked goods while hungry. :sad2: Those items looked really good, even the strange candy confetti cake. :)

They were yummy!

I'm with you about the brownie and the cheesecake guy inventor:worship: I love cheesecake and the brownie is a bonus. Love your report Brenda as always.

Thanks Laura! Cheesecake ... yummy yummy yummy!

more please!!!!

Campbell!!! :yay: You used the word snort so I'm going to assume that means you inhaled or spewed your Diet Coke while you were reading. ;)

How the heck are you? I do hope things have settled down for you and the family. Once I get my DIS-bearings I need to catch up on your TR and about 50 others as well. I'm really glad to see you're back! :flower3:

Your behavioral analysis of the Disney Ducks intrigues me and if I were a foundation instead of a middle class Midwestern schmo with no real disposable income to speak of I would drop lots of money in your lap so that you could do further research.

Your mom yelled at you about posting? Wow. Grimace would be like this:

"You need to post? Do you mean the post office or the fence post?"

I actually start feeling guilty when it's been a while between posts here ... like I'm shirking my duty or something. Over-developed sense of responsibility ...

Brenda... are you sure that duck wasn't wearing a blue shirt and a sailors cap?

That duck was nekkid! But now that I think about it, maybe that's why he was in such a bad mood.

Thanks for the updates!

Thanks for coming back to read after that 6-week hiatus I took!

I feel your pain with the diet ... I am once again trying to improve my eating habits and give up the junk food in favor of healthier choices. But it's a hard habit to break. Good luck to you - I'm sure you'll do great!

We've seen some pretty aggressive birds over at Portofino Bay. There's a restaurant there where you can eat on the plaza and we were having breakfast one morning a few years ago and watched as birds buzzed the tables and took food off plates when people had turned away or left the table. Scary, and further proof that bird are jerks. ;)

Oh brenda...how you know me...I did, in fact, snort diet coke ever so slightly out my nose...hence the unladylike label. It's not comfy to snort diet coke through one's nose. I should know better than to be getting my caffeine fix on while trying to read a Brenda chapter!!!

How is your Grimace? sometimes I go back to your old reports and read the howlingest funny parts...my all time, FOREVER fave will be "Jason LIKES IT when I don't wear pants!!!"

oh lord that gets me every single stinkin time...even now...yep...kills me...

things are insane as per usual here...most recently, Sally sweetly told her mother...who was grappling with a very naughty little brother situation, that perhaps she should call MissCammie b/c I know how to make kids behave...

*ahem*

THAT went over well...

:rotfl2:

I just posted a new chapter with another one on the way...cuz shame from my mother works...for a while...

OH and I added a little addendum to my last comment in reference to my mutual dislike of most birds...cuz mostly they ARE jerks.

:thumbsup2

Hope your holiday was a good one! Did you try the milk punch? Did your face go numb after the first glass? Mine always does and then I have another glass and my parents usually show up just as I'm finishing and they never quite understand why I'm slurring my speech and giggling over the food. :lmao:

After the first glass I was semi-alright...now 1/2 way through the 2nd I started to not feel my teeth anymore :lmao: But I got through the holiday with 3 glasses and didn't burn my turkey! :rotfl: Thanks for asking and thanks for the nice alcoholic beverage to toast in my Christmas :thumbsup2

Forgot to mention in my previous post...great updates as always!!

And I am so with you about those dang ducks. I hate birds of any kind (ducks included) and I was molested by a seagull in the UK at Epcot on our last trip. Nearly took off my finger for a French fry. :scared: Dang birds!!

i can't believe i haven't subbed to this yet.....oh, the horror!

that no way jose will definitely give me some good dreams tonight. pathetic, i know.

I just posted a new chapter with another one on the way...cuz shame from my mother works...for a while...

Heheh. I was shamed into posting a new update on my report, too. And that means I'll migrate the food bits over here soon, too. Brenda's quite the unintentional influence on us, no?

OH MY GOD!!!! Cheesecake Brownie - or should that be Brownie cheesecake - whichever, it looks soooooo good :worship:

:rotfl2: I love it! Next time, try spewing the diet coke instead of inhaling it. ;)

Grimace is fine, thanks for asking. She keeps saying that she's willing to take a Disney Cruise with us, but can you imagine the horror??? My mother ... trapped on a ship with no casino ... for days on end ... :scared1:

things are insane as per usual here...most recently, Sally sweetly told her mother...who was grappling with a very naughty little brother situation, that perhaps she should call MissCammie b/c I know how to make kids behave...

Your Sally ... she's a gem! :thumbsup2 You're good for her - she's lucky to have you.

Loved your post addendum, by the way. It made me giggle.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the punch! It's dangerous because you don't really notice the alcohol and then you had back for a second glass and suddenly it's like ...hey, I can't feel my head! :rotfl:

Forgot to mention in my previous post...great updates as always!!

And I am so with you about those dang ducks. I hate birds of any kind (ducks included) and I was molested by a seagull in the UK at Epcot on our last trip. Nearly took off my finger for a French fry. :scared: Dang birds!!

Thanks for reading!

Your bird story is scary, too! The most frightening WDW birds (for me) are the ones over at the Boardwalk, near the Bakery and the Spoodles take-out window. Those birds are uber-aggressive and ready for a starring role in a Hitchcock movie.

i can't believe i haven't subbed to this yet.....oh, the horror!

that no way jose will definitely give me some good dreams tonight. pathetic, i know.

Hi Dawn - thanks for popping in! Keep reading ... we've got a Spoodles review coming up soon that might make you feel better about keeping your ADR there this spring.

And...I guess I'm pathetic too because I do sometimes dream about WDW trips and food. :lmao:

Heheh. I was shamed into posting a new update on my report, too. And that means I'll migrate the food bits over here soon, too. Brenda's quite the unintentional influence on us, no?

I hope that's in a good way. ;) If I pester someone for an update you should feel free to smack me upside my virtual head, since I sometimes go for weeks in between mine. Stupid real life getting in the way of fun stuff like WDW and food porn. :rolleyes1

OH MY GOD!!!! Cheesecake Brownie - or should that be Brownie cheesecake - whichever, it looks soooooo good :worship:

Well my friend you're just going to have to visit the bakery on your next WDW visit, aren't you? It's nice to see you here! :goodvibes

I am a stick in the mud when it comes to Imos and have never tried their cheeseburger pizza. I have to be careful with Imos ... I love it but now and then for some reason it upsets my delicate innards. Ahhh, the joys of IBD.

So I am telling John about this conversation, and he informs me he doesn't actually really like Imo's, he just eats it to please his dad.
Ya think ya know a person.
I can only eat so much of it, because the cheese is awful rich.

I had no idea Imos could be shipped! My brother-in-law in Milwaukee would probably wet himself if he knew that. I'll make a note to remind myself to tell him the next time we see him in person - I want to test my theory that he will indeed wet his pants when he hears the news. :lmao:
I'll get the details from FIL if I think of it. It's sold under a different name, in a kit or something, but it's their product and it tastes just like it when your done.

A return to Stinktown? You must let me know if anything comes of it ... we could try to find a way to meet and have some chewy beer!

We might just do that! :thumbsup2

Just wanted to stop in and say that I am enjoying your report as usual! My favorite part so far is the mention of the "bog of eternal stench" - The Labyrinth is one of my favorite movies!

I'm glad to see someone else loves Casey's as much as we do. That's one of our few traditions we actually keep up with - we've started getting the corn dog bites lately though, and then we sit in the rose garden by the castle and just chill. There usually aren't ducks there, so it's quite peaceful! Thanks for sharing with us!

oybolshoi, find you to be extremely erudite (just knowing what the word means is worth a few points imo) as well as earthy and extremely errant. In a good way that is. :rotfl2:

I am getting used to being sick and tired but am getting a bit tired of being sick. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and will get some really good drugs that can be used against me in the future when I win that gold medal in the Olympics. I will worry about that later though. :thumbsup2
medieval history and literature classes in college or by asking totally obnoxious but well-meaning questions
I knew we were twins. :rotfl2:

DisneyMom5, men often like stuff just because some other man does or it is expensive, hard to get, or just because. Sometimes it is all of the above. I gave up trying to understand them long ago and just look at them as decorative objects that are occasionally useful. Works for me. Are you missing all that good Disney food or at least not having to prepare or clean up after it??

snort **** coke
CampbellScott, that totally explains how you cope with all you do and with such a sense of humor and even keel. :rotfl: I am glad it is the diet version though. I cannot help but keep checking in with your report just to make sure that all is well in your world. It is a fabulous place to be. :worship:

About getting the bird, I have found that those Disney birds are so darned lazy that they will not wander far afield from certain areas where they receive all the food they need. Just move on up the street a tiny bit and you can avoid the worst of them. The birds at Flame Tree do not like to go down by the water because of an alligator. Maybe we could get Casey to put an alligator in their garden? Bet folks would feed it then. :dance3:
