We just got back form HRH and went to the character meal. The food was pretty good, but the characters were few (2) and far between. It was Scooby Doo and Woody Woodpecker. Usually one was taking a break. The reason I know this is because part way through the meal I ran up to our room to get a toy for my 2 1/2 year old because he was bored and Woody Woodpecker rode in the elevator and got off on a different floor. He returned to the restaurant about 15 minutes later. We were there a good hour and had to ask to see Scooby Doo. The restaurant was about half full. I did see the characters meet and greet people in the lobby who were headed to the pool so maybe that's another reason why they were not in the restaurant very much.
The kids ate from the buffet and my husband and I ordered off the menu. We both had the filet - delicious. There was also confusion on the price and I'm still not sure which is correct. The hostess who seated us at the farthest table from the buffet (weird because like I mentioned above - the restaurant was not full) said that kids UNDER 12 could eat from the buffet but could also order off the kids menu. The waiter said - no, kids HAVE to eat from the buffet and NOT from the menu but kids 2 and under eat for free. We said great, but can we move closer to the buffet since we have 3 little kids (sure not problem) and our second waiter charged us for the 2 1/2 year old buffet and said he never heard of kids 2 and under eating for free but he took his meal off the bill anyway. ??? Like I said it was a little confusing but the food was very good and the staff very friendly. We were all happy.
