How would your family act at an 18th century ball/party?

For those who said they would go and have a great time, what would you expect on the food menu (Google 18th century balls/reeactment balls food menus for examples)? Would you stay for the whole ball or try to leave early? Would you expect your kids (if you took them with you) to behave or immediately go crazy 🤪 after eating sweets at the ball? Also, do you think you would feel relaxed at the ball or nervous most of the time?

sorry....wife saw auction kings on discovery channel...she would have bid 150.00 for the billy beer.
Our son have a few cases of Billy beer, lol. His Dad left it to him as part of his estate.
My family would probably do okay at an 18th century ball. Etiquette was a must in our family. Not just please and thank you - our school had a six week course. My night time reading for that term was Emily Post's Book of Etiquette. I actually enjoyed it.

We went to Copenhagen this summer and visited a few of their castles. One of them had a wetting throne on display. It was a chair that when an unsuspecting guest sat in it, it had springs that would activate clamps to hold the person in the chair and a water bladder in the seat would then trickle out water to make it look like whoever sat their had wet themselves. It was quite interesting and a fun gag at the time apparently.

We also visited Kronburg castle (the setting of Shakespeare’s Hamlet) and they had one of the largest ballrooms of the time. Guests would be expected to eat lavish meals over a period of 18 hours and were provided feathers and pot so they could induce vomiting so they could continue to eat. I wouldn’t mind experiencing the splendor and silliness of it all with my family.

Not sure about hairstyles and food, but I’m pretty sure armpit noises would be in my list of entertainment.

I have no desire to celebrate like that. The 18th century was a time for wealthy white men to subjugate everyone else. People were not equals. My people would not fit in with yours apparently.
Just for pretending though I am going to imagine it like Bridgerton. Beautiful clothes and at least some sense of equality, at least for the wealthy..lol. Honestly I'd probably still be a peasant..

A Vomitorim was standard at Greek feasts also. So bizarre
