I'll be calling in for my 7 month window for January soon. :cool1:

Just a few things to note: 2 adults, one 5 and one 6 year old, not doing parks every day, want a split stay with studio first and 1 bedroom second, after this going to the beach in a spacious home for several nights to totally unwind. Because we will have the one bedroom, and the house later, we think the studio should work for the beginning. We have done a split stay (followed by beach) in the past, and if it's longer than a 2 week trip it's no problem for us. So that is not a concern. I do wonder if 7 nights might be pushing it in a studio though- my DH doesn't think so, but I was thinking 5 might be smarter. However, so far everyone says they prefer this set up over anything else (all studio for longest time, or all one bedroom or two bedroom with less nights). I guess we like to maximize our sunshine time in the middle of winter! My DH REALLY wants to try AKV, although my kids aren't as into it at this point. No one is really hung up on any other resort (hence my difficulty planning), but we would like to try two locations. My DH favorite (he's the only one) that seems to have one, is AKV followed by OKW. I would try for BLT first, but if we aren't doing parks every day, I think that might be not as fun to see it right out your window? I dont know. This is harder than I thought to decide- there are just so many options! All of them rock!

We do hope to try all the resorts someday, but I'd just like to have an idea of how to rank these in order when I call- so I have not only back ups, but just what to go with for the first try!

So here they are, what I thought were our best options:
AKV 7 nights (studio), followed by one bedroom: 5 nights OKW, or 5 BVW, or 4 VWL, or 4 BC, or 4 BLT, (SSR is my back up if none of these are available)

OKW 7 nights (studio), followed by one bedroom: 5 nights AKV or BWV, or 4 nights at any of the others above.

One other option I liked was doing 5 studio nights, and 5 one bedroom, however, the way the weekends are working if I want to try to get in during homeschool days that doesn't seem as easy with the points...

So, what do you more experienced disers think?? Which resort would you do with AKV on a split stay and why? I do know I can't go wrong, and I'm thrilled to have this be a decision in my life at the moment! Such fun:)

Thank you for the opinions and advice! :worship:

ETA: I should have mentioned, we will have a car!

AKV's and the BCV's. I say BCV cuz it a little quieter but still has access to the BW and you can ride the boats for fun. What about trying SSR ? You could take the boat to DTD for some fun.

Thanks for the opinion!

SSR we just did in January for a week (loved it!), and we want to do our next trip when we can get a treehouse at the 11 month window- so we'd like to try something else if possible! I imagine we'll be doing SSR quite regularly:)

They are all great, and I suppose I'll just have to pick one (along with AKV) and give it a try!

I'll post what I am able to get! :)

AKV and OKW could be fun. Get a savanna view studio at AKV, then a 1 br at OKW. Both restful and fun resorts. The savana view is incredible. The OKW 1 br is the largest 1 br in all of DVC!

Happy planning!

I'd vote for BWV or BCV to go along with AKV (which I think your kids would especially enjoy with animals & new Kidani !) Either BWV or BCV will give you LOTS of options to walk, bike, boat, browse, dine & also non-park entertainment evenings over on the boards at BWV (magicians, jugglers, etc - it varies) and location of BWV's community hall alongside Villa's pool and you can stop in at Welcome Home Wednesday too if you'd like at Atlantic Dance. Also there are campfire & movies on beach at BCV some nights (although I'm not 100% certain if that's scheduled during January - hopefully a BCV owner will be along to tell you for sure ). BWV or BCV location would give you as little or as much action as you'd want as well as convenience to Epcot & DHS. You can get in some Illuminations & Fantasmic firework viewing there too.

Sounds like a wonderful vacation :thumbsup2

I'd do BLT for your park days (maybe a studio for the park days), and save AKV for the non-park time, since there is a LOT to do besides park stuff at AKV. It really is a destination in itself. Of course, I do like OKW for non-park time too, and there you would have larger accommodations as well. There are a lot more interesting programs for the kids at AKV over OKW. OKW has lots of normal activities, but AKV has some unusual intersting ones.

I'd do these two, but switch them. OKW studios are great because they're so big. Then go to AKV for the 1br. Definately a savanna view.

Oh goodness!! Well I'm still confused! :rotfl2: Again, I'm not complaining about my problem :) What a fun thing to decide on!!

AKV is definitely the first one I'm trying for- and it seems most of you agree. It looks like BC and OKW are the top second resort choices...

I was looking through the dream book today, and AKV just looks so cool! But I am kinda missing SSR looking at the pictures.. so I'm going to figure out my points on that next! The thing is my DD just LOVED that 2 bedroom... I'm not sure if she'd be happy with the 1 after doing the 2! So I'll have to see if I have enough points to do part of the stay there... I'm thinking AKV SSR stay sounds like a dream:) I'm already getting add-on fever!! Oh no!

I'm still thinking I guess! Thank you all for your posts... and I will post when I book in 2 weeks!
