How We Became Addicted to a Mouse...A Family's First Trip!

I just started reading your thread and LOVE it!! I only have 2 children but my youngest girl is so similar to Jane but 2 years older! We've nicknamed her Stitch because she is so like him. Is a whirlwind but tries so hard to be good when she feels like it! I also joke with my DH that if we had had her first she would have been an only child!

The thing that always kills me...like your Jane my Renee is cute as cute as can be....people look at her and say OH she can't be as onry as you say...she looks like an angel.:laughing: My close friends said the same thing until they really spent a lot of time with us ...enough for one of our famous melt downs and then this is how they look.:scared1:

But I wouldn't trade in Renee for anything. Along with the meltdowns she brings so much life to our house. She says the most hilarous thing and really does love with all of her heart. Now not to say I am not so fearful of the teen years but one step at a time!

I'm looking forward to the rest of your report. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and loved the boat to MK too. I hadn't considered FW but it sounds great especially with the extra room. We're going back (hopefully if all works out) this October and we are booked at WL but now I'm wondering. Smile
thanks for sharing your story!

I'm loving your TR!!!

Your family is beautiful. Jane sounds a lot like my only ;). They look alike as well.

When my DD was about her age, we were watching a movie. I popped some popcorn, and needed use the bathroom for a second. Honestly, I was in there less than a minute. I came back out to the living room, where she was looking at me quite sheepishly. Then she started crying "I just wanted to see if it fit" Yes, popcorn kernels fit quite well in your EAR. After while we were driving home from the ear doctor, I let her know that in case she was ever wondering, it would fit the same way in her nose. :lmao:

Can't wait to read the rest!!!

OMG! That is too funny about Jane & the candy corn! I'm sure it wasn't funny at the time, but that is just hilarious! I've been thankful that, so far, Reid has not been one to experiment with putting strange things in his nose or mouth.

Cute family, adorable trip report. How fun to experience WDW for the first time as a family. Can't wait to hear about the rest of the trip.

First, I love the dress you wore to DHS. You look so comfy and nice-but I couldn't imagine climing those ropes at HISTK playground!!

I always get lost at DHS in the area by the Streets and Muppets. If I stay on Sunset Blvd and Pixar Place I'm ok, but branch off from there and it's totally confusing!

Thankfully my oldest is afraid of candy! (for now!) I just know he'll be putting the candy into his brother's nose soon though!

Stitch! How perfect! How come I never thought of that with Jane! :rotfl:

And I guess you can tell by now how much we loved Ft. Wilderness. There ARE some drawbacks with the internal busses (though you can always rent a golf cart. We never had an issue, but it is one more step to traveling to the park) and it is certainly more rustic than other resorts. But we are an outdoorsy type of family and loved everything it had to offer. The space was fantastic and having a great outdoor area for the kids to play in was so nice. And just sitting out on our porch at night was a great way to unwind. :cloud9:

:rotfl2: I can only laugh because I feel certain that I will be in this same boat one day with the ER trip. Two children and I have never had an issue with anyone putting anything in a nose or ear until NOW. Wanna know what else I discovered her doing that the other two never did?? PLAYING IN THE TOILET today. REALLY?? I wish I could tell you how many times I have called poison control for this baby too. Always for something like toothpaste or sunscreen, but still. I have never had another child do anything like that. :rotfl: But, as my cousin said the other day, "Before Jane you had the perfect family. Now it is even MORE perfect!" My thoughts exactly!

Oh...you'd be surprised. It was pretty funny at the time. In fact, I stopped digging in order to update my facebook status...:rotfl: Everyone so LOVES a good Jane story! :rotfl2:

Thanks so much! So glad you are reading! :)

Thanks so much! The dress was soooooo comfortable and kept me cool because nothing was TOUCHING me...:rotfl: I wore dresses a few times and never encountered a problem with the exception of HISTK...:rotfl: That dress was NOT made for climbing! And let me just mention that I bought some NICE sandles for Disney after lots of research. I spent a decent amount on them. Broke them in before we left, but then after the first day had to switch over to my cute, nothing to them, I'm almost barefoot, sandles that I had been wearing for three years. :rotfl: Those new, expensive shoes hurt my feet too much!

So when we last left off, we had settled down in the shade with some Mickey bars, fully planning to leave DHS when we were finished, thereby LEAVING OUR TOY STORY FP UNUSED!! TRAVESTY!!

Some of us REALLY enjoyed those Mickey bars!

But you know what they say about the best laid plans? Well, I can’t remember either, but I DO know that the parade (that I can’t remember the name of...THAT’S shocking ) started and suddenly, the mix of sugar, shade, good music and Woody and Buzz got us all revved up! The kids were dancing, and we made our way closer to watch the show. I am so mad that I took a thousand pictures of them dancing, but it never occurred to me to VIDEO it. Evidently, dancing comes through best with PHOTOS and not video according to me. Meh.

DSC01980.jpg

Let me preface this by saying that we are the people who had no intentions of watching parades. I didn’t think they’d be worth doing. I know, I know, poor, uninformed soul. With kids that ages the parades are perfect for getting into the Disney magic and letting off some steam. We didn’t even need to have a front row seat, just to HEAR it and see it from far away was more than enough for my crew. This one was great with Sarge (Jay’s favorite) leading the whole thing. And with the second wind that Jane got, we decided to heck with the nap! TSM was calling our names!

DSC01977.jpg

So, we made our way over to the ride, noting that all the FP were gone and that the wait time for the ride was about 80 minutes. The park wasn’t even crowded...crazy! We got into the FP line (and I’ll admit I WAS sad to miss the cool que) and pretty soon, we were in our car getting ready to ride. Soooo worth staying for, and so glad we got to ride it! What a great ride! Jane sat in the car with Jamie and me and the big kids had their own. This is where all my research came in handy and I kicked Jamie’s butt in that game. Neener neener neener!! :lmao: It was a really neat experience and Jane loved watching and helping me even though she wouldn’t wear the glasses. :cool2:

After leaving the ride, we ran into the Green Army men standing right outside! Yay!! Jay was BEYOND thrilled since this was an autograph he was dying for. Toy Story is near and dear to all our hearts and has been for years, so this meant a lot to all of us.

DSC01992.jpg

After our autographs and ride we DID decide to get out of the park so that Jane could get a rest in before our night at Downtown Disney. We caught the bus quickly (we never once encountered a long bus wait or a crowded bus getting back to Ft. Wilderness. Not sure if that has to do with the time of year of the resort itself since so many people rent their own cars. Guess we’ll find out next June!) When we got back to the room I put Jane down for a nap and Jamie elected to stay with her and work on some work stuff while I took the big kids for a swim.

The only painful part of Ft. Wilderness to me was riding the bus to the pool. Not that it was difficult, or even added that much time to our trip to the pool, but it wasn’t as easy as just walking out of your room and having pool access. But, we made it to the pool relatively quickly and jumped in. I read a book while the kids swam and played on the slide and in the hot tub. They made a few friends and I watched from afar. We stayed for about two hours and then went back to get ready to go out for the night. By this time, it was close to six, which was much later than we had planned on leaving for DTD, but we figured it would be okay.

We got to the main bus depot and waited and waited for a bus to DTD. This time, all the darn busses seemed to be going to DHS. Figures! We had been waiting a while for a bus, which was very abnormal from any other experience we had at the bus stop. There was an Epcot bus sitting there empty and waiting to load. We were wishing it was a DTD bus. It sat empty for the longest time before finally closing it’s doors and pulling away. As it rounded the corner from the bus depot and back to the road we watched the driver change the sign from Epcot to DTD. :scared1: WAHHHHH!!!! We weren’t sure if the driver had forgotten to change his sign while he was sitting there or what. But we were SAD because by now, it was close to seven, and DTD had just gone out the window.

But, with all my research, at least it was easy to come up with a plan B. I decided we should take an internal bus over to the marina and take a boat to the Contemporary and eat there. This was a MUCH easier plan and soon we were boarding a boat and the cool night breeze and boat ride was getting us back in the spirit of things. Almost anyway. :rotfl:

We got off at the Contemporary and found The Contempo Cafe. But ordering was taking me FOREVER with the computers and I could NOT figure out the system. And it was late. And had we missed our DTD bus. And maybe I needed a glass of wine :lmao:. But then a wonderful cast member came over to help, plugged in our order and got me all set up in about three seconds. BLESS HER. :lovestruc She was so nice! Jamie and I both got FABULOUS salads with grilled steak. The kids had standard kid fare. We got a couple of dulche de leche cupcakes that I had read about. OH. MY. WALT. DISNEY. I promise you that paying for plane tickets, resort fees and park fare to Disney are WORTH IT FOR THAT CUPCAKE ALONE. Amazing. It was such a nice meal after such a stressful evening. After supper, it was nearing nine o’clock, so we headed back to the boat dock to get to bed at a decent hour before our Animal Kingdom day the next day.

The boat took a loooong while to arrive, but finally did. It was a quick ride back over to the Fort and when we arrived, it was to the tune of creepy Halloween music. Jamie and I both commented on it and I said they must be piping it into the beach just for this time of year. As we walked up the dock, all of a sudden, we heard booming in the distance. We looked up and there were the fireworks from the MNSSHP at MK! Too bad for the late hour! We grabbed a seat on the beach and watched the fireworks! They were FANTASTIC! Jamie and I were both in awe and Jane LOVED them as well. The big kids were a bit tired, but hung in there well and loved what they were seeing too. It was a great show and exactly what we needed after such a weird night.

DSC01994.jpg

A sad shot, but the best I could do with my little point and shoot. I bought a GOOD camera after our trip. I missed to many great shots with my point and shoot that I was determined not to have that happen again.

After the fireworks, we went straight back to the cabin and straight to bed. Animal Kingdom in the morning!!

But...will we EVER make it to DTD?? And what about that whole heartbreak thing? And the massive doses of magic headed our way?? Relax ya'll...we still have lots of days left!

Hi! Just found your trip report tonight (I'm a sucker for first timers!) and am really enjoying it. First you are not the only duct tapers out there! My niece needed the duct tape for a LONG time - but they just used the usual ugly gray. My poor SIL cleaned up more messes - I felt so bad. And my little guy can melt down like no one else - especially when he was 2 (I would not go into our Barnes & Noble for more than a year, he had one so bad in there). He's much better now though. But somehow at Disney all is well - sleep or no sleep!

My boys are huge Toy Story fanatics and they too love Sarge! A hint for your next trip - if you watch the parade over by Jedi training at the end of the parade, where it ends they shoot nerf balls out over a fence to all the kids! A nice CM told us just where to stand and my boys picked up quite a few balls (and nicely shared all but two with other kids). My youngest has the same shirt that Jay was wearing to DHS! Did he like doing Jedi Training?? My boys LOVED it and still talk about it 9 months later. The wait was L O N G, but worth it.

Can't wait for more of your trip. Glad you had such a great time and thanks for sharing it!!

Edit: Forgot to add, you had me tearing up with your castle story. My 1st trip I went with some elderly family friends and I remember getting my first glimpse of the castle, but don't remember saying anything. 20 years later I was talking to Bill and he said it was the best part of his trip seeing my face and hearing me say it was just like I dreamed. It's a very powerful thing seeing that castle for the first time! (Of course for my boys it was seeing the Buzz Lightyear ride, not the castle! :-))

So glad that Jay got to meet his favorite guys!

I was a nonbeliever in the parades too until our first trip. I had no idea how magical they were for kids!

Candy corn, yuck! I have a toilet lover myself. In case you were wondering, toddler qtips do float, even in large quantities :rotfl:

I'm so glad you are joining us! I'm having such fun writing and reliving this! I can't wait to start a PTR when I finish this one, but I know I should wait until a LITTLE closer to time...:rotfl:

Great hint about the parade! I had no idea they did that! Jay and Annie would LOVE that! We will be sure to check it out next time!

And I know I will NEVER forget Annie's reaction to that castle. It was the SWEETEST thing! :lovestruc

So glad that Jay got to meet his favorite guys!

:rotfl: The other day I had to stick my WHOLE hand in the toilet as Jane threw a Dixie cup in right as it was flushing at my parents house. :scared1: How LOVELY!!! :rotfl2:

The kids woke up with a bit later this morning with a Disney Hangover.

DSC01998.jpg

We were getting a later start than I wanted, but what else was new? We packed up the backpack and headed out to the busses. We were excited about Animal Kingdom, but knew it would be an early afternoon since we HAD to get to DDT this night. I wasn’t too sure about AK. I was thinking that it would be too “Zoo-like” and that I would be unimpressed. So, it was no big deal to me to call half a day at this park so that we could make it to DTD that night. In fact, I was glad that we had slept in a little to recharge our batteries.

We met a great family on the way to AK and I spent a while talking to the grandfather of a boy that Jay had befriended. The grandfather was a chorus teacher at a high school and we had a great conversation. One of the reasons I loved Disney buses! It was a pretty long ride out to AK, so we had a while to talk. The bus was very crowded, so Jamie ended up with Jane, across the bus from me. I don’t think his ride was nearly as relaxing as mine was! :rotfl: We got to AK about an hour after rope drop.

As we arrived at AK and walked in, I realized my mistake in thinking that it would be like a zoo as soon as we encountered the Tree of Life.

Photo0053FourBySix.jpg

The theming was unreal and I think I could spend a couple of days here, just drinking it all in. It was really an amazing park! After taking a few pictures in front of the tree, and then went straight to the safari ride. So fun! There were no wait at all (for anything we did that day, in fact!) and it was such a fun ride for everyone. A bit bumpy, but really an amazing feat that Disney has pulled off such a realistic Safari experience. We saw lots of animals and all the kids were amazed.

I won't post our pictures from this ride...just picture blurry animals. :rotfl:

After leaving the safari, we just took time to walk and really look around and appreciate the amazing theming around us. It really felt like you were in an African village, with clothes hanging from lines, and the roads and shops looking just like you would expect. We took a few pictures around the park, even running into Flik from A Bugs Life.

DSC02018.jpg

We got pictures and autographs with him and then headed towards Dinosaur. When we finally got to it, it was a complete walk on. We got a rider swap pass and Jamie took the big kids and I took Jane into the gift shop. Jane found many wonderful dinosaurs toys that she played and played with. I watched the photos to see if I could find Jamie and the big kids. When they finally popped up on screen, I knew to start looking for them to come off the ride. They showed up shortly after that, Annie declaring that she would NOT be riding this ride with me. ;) So, this time, Jamie had the girls and I took Jay with me for another ride. It was LOUD and BUMPY. But a fun ride, all in all. I learned that Jay is all about giving me the spoilers to the ride before they happen.

After Dinosaur, we went to Flame Tree Barbeque to eat lunch. I was not particularly fired up about this place because hello?? How good can theme park barbeque be? I also have a husband who takes great pride in smoking meats as his hobby, and I just knew this was going to “just okay for me dog”. ;) I ordered chicken, Jamie ordered ribs. The kids all had chicken. And I prepared myself for a mediocre meal. WRONG. Best. Chicken. Ever. It was for real smoked chicken and was absolutely delicious! Jamie liked his ribs a lot too, and that man is HARD TO PLEASE when it comes to ribs. So far, AK was bypassing every expectation I had. Flame Tree Barbeque is outdoor seating only, which you can only imagine what this means for the wildlife in the area. There were signs posted EVERYWHERE about not feeding the birds, but good luck with that. The birds were all over, begging for food worse than Darla (our boder collie) ever thought of being. We managed to keep them at bay for a while by not feeding them, but shortly, a family sat down at our long table and started to feed them. Then we were overrun. Jane thought this was GREAT. Jay and Annie kept trying to pet them. I told the kids (VERY LOUDLY) that they could not feed the birds because it was bad for them to eat people food. I was hoping the family next to us would take the hint, but they never did. :headache: We spent a while at Flame Tree recharging out batteries and hanging with the birds.

But, all good things must come to an end and if we wanted to make the Lion King show, we were going to have to leave. It was a TREK over to the auditorium, but we made it in plenty of time. We were one of the first in line and got great seats. What a SHOW! Everyone, including Jane, loved it. It was a great way to end the day. There is such talent in that show, it was unreal. My camera wouldn’t take pictures indoors with no flash, so I didn’t get any good pictures. I was disappointed, but it will live in my memory.

After the Lion King, we ran into Pocahontas and chatted with her for a while. She was so funny and asked Annie who braided her hair and weaved her shirt. She also asked them if they came to Disney on hose back. :rotfl: They both loved talking to her. Even Jay who had no interest in meeting her at first.

DSC02041.jpg

We finally decided that if we were going to make DTD, then it was time to go. Jane was getting very cranky by this time, and we knew that she really needed a nap, or we were alllll (and in ALL, I DO include the other park guests...) going to me miserable. So, back to the Fort we went and I began to make plans about what we would do next time we went to AK. We missed so much, but it gives us a lot to look forward to on the next trip.

After arriving at the Fort, I took the big kids to the pool again for a LOOOONG swim while Jane napped. This time we got a good, long nap in her and the kids had a long time to play. As much as I hated to miss more of AK, I will admit that the down time did me good too. I sat poolside and read while they played and played. Eventually, we headed back to the cabin, but not before spotting a man coming off the busses with a VERY TINY BATHING SUIT and NO OTHER attire. The kids averted their eyes as he passed and I whispered, “Don’t stare. Don’t stare. Don’t stare.” And then I prayed that none of us sat on the bus seat he was using. :scared1:

After redressing and touching up makeup (me...not the children), we were FINALLY HEADED TO DTD!! And the LEGO STORE!!!!!!!!!! RIGHT? WE ARE GOING TO THE LEGO STORE FIRST? RIGHT? JUST THE LEGO STORE AND NO WHERE ELSE, RIGHT?? AND I CAN SPEND MY MONEY, RIGHT?? Mister One Track Mind had been sitting on far too much money for far too long. We were so glad he was finally getting to spend it. AND PLEASE STOP ASKING ABOUT THE LEGO STORE EVERYDAY. :lmao:

And there was a bus this time! Which was a great relief. And we weren’t getting a late start, which was even better. So, we got to DTD and began trying to find the LEGO STORE (RIGHT??) and not lose any children in the crowd. DTD seemed to be where everyone wanted to be. It was pretty packed, but there were a lot of fun things happening and fun things to look at. We took lots of pictures of the giant lego creations. The kids loved looking at them.

DSC02051.jpg

And finally, we were in the store. Where we MAY have spent the REST OF OUR LIVES if I hadn’t put a two hour time limit on Jay, who’s head exploded into a million pieces upon walking in. Everyone had fun in the store, but of course, this is what Jay had really been looking forward to and saving his money for. He looked and looked (AND LOOKED) and finally picked out what he wanted. Annie picked out some stuff too and Jane played in the park area and also with the Legos. It took me forever to pay, because we had a new checker and the place was packed. When we finally got out of there, two hours later, we wanted to head to Wolfgang Pucks. But when we got there, there was a line out of the door, so we went to Earl of Sandwich instead. Where we encountered another huge line, but didn’t feel like walking back to WPE, so we stuck it out where we were. I had the holiday sandwich (YUMMY!!!!) and I cannot remember what anyone else had because I was BUSY EATING MY SANDWICH AND ALL. I am still slightly on the sad side that I gave up WPE for a long line, but I guess we’ll just have to put it on the list for next time.

After supper, we went to Once Upon a Toy where Annie spent some of her money on potato head pieces. They were ALL so cute and we found a great cast member who helped us fill a box for 20 bucks. She packed those pieces in and we got a TON of stuff. We got one for Jane too so that she and Annie could share the pieces. Such a great deal and such cute stuff! Jay was disappointed that he didn’t have enough money left for that. We convinced him that nine year olds didn’t really NEED potato heads anyway.

Things were getting a little out of hand here, with Jay wanting to go home and get his legos out and Jane getting really tired. So we thought it best to go back to the cabin and get some sleep. Plus, I really was on the verge of killing Jay with his constant needling over getting to the cabin and checking out his purchases. I did get to go in one more store and buy a Mickey apron and a Mickey head pancake maker. So cute and I still love them both and use them all the time. DTD was a bit rushed, even with our early start, but still lots of fun. This was probably one of the biggest crowds we encountered, but well worth doing because of the great shopping for the kids.

By the time we got back to the cabin it had gotten pretty late. I elected NOT to kill Jay, even though he DIRECTLY disobeyed me on the lego issue immediately upon walking in the cabin. I won’t go into the whole story, but this did result in a spanking for him. WHERE was the Disney magic??? :confused3 :lmao: And no, this is not the heart break I keep talking about, though that story IS coming soon!

After the spanking and the tears were dried, we got everyone ready for bed and Jamie and I sat out on the porch for a long time, enjoying the lovely night sounds and a glass (er...tumbler...since that’s all the cabins offer.) of wine!

So, with a good night sleep under our belts, where would we head the next day? Would Jay recover from the drama that night? AND WHAT ABOUT THE HEARTBREAK ALREADY??? :rotfl:

Ack! I want to hear about the heartbreak and not at the same time! You need to do it soon so the suspense doesn't kill me!

Loving reading your trip report.

It reminds me of the first time I took my kids. DS was 8, DD was 6 and my "baby" was 18mo. I remember my DD6 also standing in awe at that glorious castle. I teared up with you as I read the description of your daughters first glimpse of magic. I am now taking my grandkids and my grown children. You are never too old for Mickey!

I see that your are traveling in June next. I have some tips for you. I havent been in June but I have been July 4th week and the last week in July.

Prepare for the heat. We love going in October because it is warm but not that "suck the breath out of you hot". In the summer, ITS HOT!

Really work hard at getting there early. Plan for morning extra magic hours, do a few rides and then make your way out of the parks by lunch. Either have lunch before you leave or back at the hotel. Plan for a swim and everybody take a "rest/nap". Then head back to the parks around 6pm when it is cooler. After you look at all those tired, sweatty parents with kids past their breaking point, you'll be greatful you had your nap....your gonna need it.... for the next tip.

The parks are open later in the summer. I know not everybody can but we love the parks late at night. One memory I have from our first Fort Wilderness trip is taking the baby back to the camper and having dinner, dad and baby were sleeping so me and my mom and "the big kids" headed over to magic kingdom at 10 pm. yep, at 10 pm. earlier that day splash mountain had a 120 min wait and we practically walked on.

You can expect longer wait times so really work the fastpass. (TSM at peak times can also have a standby wait of 2 hrs or more....hence arrive early) Ok, back to fastpass. In general, as long as you are past the start time of that fastpass you can use it anytime that day. For example, you get a FP for Space Mountain with a return time of 1:30 but approaching 1:30 Jane needs her nap and the big kids are cranky and need a break. Take the break. Dont toss the fastpasses. When you return to the parks, you can still use the fastpass even though it is past its expiration time on that day.

If you didnt do it this time, you gotta do the campfire/movies/ and weiner roast near the Meadows Trading post. Perfect for a first night arrival. Take a blanket and let the kids stretch out in front of the movie screen.

Its most likely going to rain. Resist the urge to leave the parks. Everybody else will and then it will be alot less crowded. Just duck in and do some shopping or if you happen to be at Epcot, there are tons of indoor activities.

plan your DHS studios day on a "non-fantasmic" day. According to the CM the crowd difference is significant. If you plan on watching fantasmic, book a meal at one of the resturants that offers the fantasmic dining package. SOOOOO much better to go in that enterance as opposed to waiting in the cattle shoot with the rest of the herd shuffling toward the end of the line.

I could go on and on. I love the summer because the parks are open later but october is my most favorite time of year.

One last thing.... I enjoyed myself some "Mickey Me Time" this past spring break. we were at Bay Lake Towers and everybody went to bed and I went to Magic Kingdom from 1am to 3am, all by myself.....:cloud9:

so, I will be waiting for your next installment.....

Oh my goodness, your kids are precious! And what a riot Jane is (we have a two-year-old little girl, too, and they sound very similar). Really enjoying your TR!

Jumping on board! You sound so much like me (being early for things - often too early, fearing the worst can happen - rides falling apart, not following plans). You have a fun way of writing, which is making your report super fun to read!!

Thanks for sharing!

I just got caught up on your last 2 updates & loved them! I'm so glad y'all got to do TSM. Isn't that ride just great?!?

At the end of our trip, we did DTD before heading to the airport. I really wanted to eat lunch at Earl of Sandwich but the line was just too long. So, we ate at Wolfgang Puck Express. It is really good & you should definitely give it a try! While I'm on the subject of food, I'm so glad y'all gave Flame Tree a try! Ed & I LOVE that place. In fact, it's our favorite part of AK! :rotfl:

Okay...so, I admit it. Summer has totally messed with my schedule. I was doing so well until last week when we had out of town guests, I was teaching VBS, hauling kids to a million places and Jay came down with strep. Finally though, I am back and READY TO UPDATE. I am working on the next installment right now. And since Jane is down for a nap and I have the big kids occupied with cupcake making, I should be able to get an update going here. THE HEARTBREAK STORY IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER!!:rotfl: I should be able to get to it today. That is, IF THE CHILDREN WILL STOP ARGUING WHILE MAKING THE STUPID CUPCAKES. Bad children. :rotfl: Okay...here we go!!

Ack! I want to hear about the heartbreak and not at the same time! You need to do it soon so the suspense doesn't kill me!

Please don't die of suspense! :lmao:I PROMISE, it is coming. And SOON!!

gosh, this is so true!

Yup! Planning the next trip is one of my FAVORITE things. I can't even be TOO sad when the trip is over because it means I get to start planning the next one. :lovestruc

Excellent, excellent tips! I am a bit nervous about the June thing because we LOVED October sooooo much. BUT, they are doing away with one of our days of Fall Break, so the kids would be missing more school than I am comfortable with. Plus, we REALLY want to check out Star Wars week. But, even with all the good stuff about June, I am nervous about being at the parks by rope drop. We are usually pretty early risers, but we also get the kids (especially Jane) in bed early. With more late nights at the parks, I am a bit worried that she won't handle the whole getting up early thing well. And though we are used to HEAT (Florida and Mississippi summers), the all day heat in the parks we are NOT used to, so hopefully we will survive. I guess I am most nervous about being disappointed since we LOVED our October trip so much.

Oh my goodness, your kids are precious! And what a riot Jane is (we have a two-year-old little girl, too, and they sound very similar). Really enjoying your TR!

Thanks so much! She IS a riot...which is what saves her most days! :rotfl:

So glad you are joining us! Welcome! It's funny, I am usually an optimist, but I suppose in circumstances like this, I like to be PREPARED. Lol! :rotfl:

Yup...Wolfgang Pucks is on my list for next time. Hopefully we will MAKE it to DTD! Lol! I am getting my plans ready now and Jamie and I are debating on whether we want to do that or just have a few relaxing nights at the cabins. While we loved DTD, I don't know if I HAVE to get back there next time. I guess we will figure that part out closer to time.
