How We Became Addicted to a Mouse...A Family's First Trip!

I just found your trip report this evening, and have read through the WHOLE thing! It's been so great to read, and I look forward to hearing about the rest of the trip - even though I know that the END of a Disney trip can be very sad indeed.

Count me in with the readers who teared up when you shared about seeing Cinderella's Castle. Just imagine how I am standing on Mainstreet watching Wishes! I tried to convince my family that the tears were actually just sweat from the bagzillion degree August heat, but they didn't buy it. :rotfl:

Our boys are 9 & 11, and they were THRILLED to discover the gift shop in Japan FILLED with Pokemon galore! DH and I are heading down to WDW in a few weeks, dare I say it, without the kids. We are going to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary (we had our honeymoon at WDW). :woohoo: We've done a spectacular marketing job so our kids are excited to stay home for their "world tour of cousins, aunts & grandmas". But a key part of it is our PROMISE to take pictures in the Japan gift shop and allow the boys to view them and make a souvenir "wish list" for us. We will then use our superb parenting skills to make the best choices and bring them home their "surprises".

I was SO HAPPY to hear about the AMAZING Stitch experiences you had. Those really are the kinds of things that make Disney "DISNEY!!!".:cheer2: SO GREAT to be able to read all about it. And I'm sure your daughter will never forget it! And how great for you to acknowledge the "no whining and moaning-ness" of your son!

Okay, better let you go so you can get the rest of your report ready. Can't wait to read it! popcorn::

I was spellbound by your Stitch experience!! Amazing!! What an AWESOME Disney memory for your kids. That must have been so special for Annie! This is why I love all things Disney!! :lovestruc

:dance3::cheer2: OMG! I'm so happy for y'all! This is what makes Disney, Disney. Even when they do sucky things like take away M&G during EMH a CM does this and you know this is the reason you keep coming back.

I know I do.

Wow! Wow! WOW!!!!
What an AMAZING, MAGICAL, Disney moment your family was able to share. And good for you for recognizing those cast members in writing. How very special. I'm so relieved and happy to hear about your Stitch experience and the amazing autograph book. :dance3: :dance3:

So sorry about the toenail, though. Ick! I hope it's growing back and that the source of all you powers returns! :lmao:

Just found your trip report today, and I LOVE it. You have such a great "voice" while you're writing. I can't wait to read the rest!!!

THis story is why I love Disney. You had me in tears. I had to go wake my daughter up (okay, she was in bed and supposed to be sleeping, but was singing)

anyway, she loved it and asked if I would tell her again. She was denied, but kept on until I promised to tell her again tomorrow. I'm so happy for Annie! And Jay was such a good sport!

Sorry to hear about your toe thank goodness for first aid stations!

I don't blame you with the lollipop. An uncoorporarive child is worth a million dollars in sugar!

I love food and wine! It's a great way to experience world showcase with kids!

You had me laughing a good bit! Dh's sweaty back! Hilarious! And my dh I'd another who carries a phone just for his scores! And I too have been guilty of allowing my kids extra playtime just so I didn't have to yell and embarrass myself!

Amazing! Simply Amazing! I was blubbering like a baby over here reading about Annie's experience with Stitch. That's so wonderful what all they did for her. And Jay really was so sweet & mature about the whole thing. From what all I've read in your TR, sounds like you have some pretty terrific kids on your hands. Can't wait to hear what else y'all did on the last day at MK!

Just read your whole TR and have loved every second of it :goodvibes

You have a wonderful family

I loved the story about Stitch and the autograph book, I am sure that none of you will ever forget such a special day :cloud9:

LOVE your TR and your Disney Magic!! Amazing!!:wizard: Jane is super cute and reminds me of my now 2-year-old. How many months was Jane during your trip? My DD will be 27 months and I was hoping she'd nap in the stroller?? No? It worked last year but she was 15 months...we'll see! Oh...and where did you get Jane's adorable Minnie shoes?!?

I absolutely got teary over Annie's experience with Stitch! As PPs have said before - THIS is why we love Disney. It's an expensive vacation but the value is off the charts!

wow, that is some awesome Disney Magic! It's like someone set that up for you! Sooo cool! Does Annie still talk about it? Does she still carry her stitch around?

You've had some very busy days. Did you need a vacation from your vacation?

I hope your toe did not slow you down too much. I have a DH who always crosses in front of me or stops short when walking so I feel your pain. It's annoying when you have to be dodging your own family members and the thpusands of other people too!

I also just found your trip report and read through the whole thing! Very cool experience with Stitch! I'm from Mississippi, too!

I am really enjoying your TR, and I might have teared up just a little bit when I read about Stitch and Annie. :rolleyes1  :goodvibes

Wow!
It's a very slow night at work and I just read through your whole TR. I loved every minute! (Well, almost. Not when Annie was sick or your toenail ripped off...)
Very glad that you had such a magical morning on your last Magic Kingdom day. Gotta love the Disney cms who go the extra mile. :lovestruc
Can't wait for the finale!

Wow what an amazing experience with Stitch! Disney magic at it's best and something your children will never forget!

That is so cute about your son and Star Wars Weekend. He won't be able to believe it when he actually gets to go! I am hoping to take my son to a Star Wars Weekend too because his birthday is at the end of May so it is usually going on then.
