We were averaging once a year before we had kids, but now we're once every two years or so. (we're also taking family members with us, which usually means we need to bank or borrow to have enough points)

On average, how often do you all head to Uncle Walt's place?

We only went once before we had kids. We used to live in Florida but still went only once a year or so when the kids were little. We moved up here 5 years ago and have been back to Disney about 5 times. NOW, we are new to DVC and are planning our second trip in one year (OKW in October!) We do not take our kids out of school for vacation, but we have found that as they get older it is easier to travel in general. We are also itching for an add-on, so with DVC our trips may become MORE frequent (our kids are 13, 11, 9, and 6.)

Wow Kelly and Lacy! Do you guys take shorter trips, (a few days at a time) or are these 5 days or more?

That's awesome!:earseek:

We average 2 trips a year. We did go 3 times a year for a short time. Then we decided to give it a rest. We are in the process of taking a year and a half off, it just got to be too much of the mouse. We plan on spending about 5 weeks down in Florida this January-already have reservations for 3 weeks at OKW

We are going to WDW 3 times in the coming year, plus one visit to VB (with a possible one night stopover at BWV on the way down). Much less often this past year, just once in fact (plus VB once), and once the year before. Since our add-on we've had more Uncle Walt time.

We've averaged 1x per year in the past. Haven't been this year yet but will be going in October (first time as DVC members) and again in December (just booked airline tix last night). Generally, we stay 7-8 days to help justify the airline costs. We are giving serious consideration to using our points (dare I say) for a cruise next year!

2 trips a year, each one 5 or 6 nights.

we've been doing three, a long mlk weekend, a long week in may, and a long weekend in the fall. This year is been sort of funny so we did a long week in spring and a long week in fall.

We manage approx. 5 trips a year.

Feb is a LONG weekend over President's Day and I can run the OUTBACK race in Orlando

Easter

July (usually a DCI show)

August (long weekend with friends and NO spouses)

December (weekend for MVMCP)

None of these would be possible without my DVC and APs ( and a great RR program on SWA!)

We usually go three times with one Annual Pass. Then we will skip almost a full year and do it all over again. If a good discount on AP's ever happens, we will go more frequently.

For our family of 6, admission is a major issue and AP's do the trick every other year.

We go once a year staying in a two bedroom for six or seven nights. We buy AP's and we will use them twice. One year we will go in August and then the next year we go in May. I am still hoping to someday see those Christmas decorations you all talk about!!!:chat:

Well, every time I cross the Deleware Memorial Bridge I say I'm heading to WDW. Then reality kicks in and I remember I'm only doing a little tax free shopping.

But, at least three times a year when I cross that bridge it's for a whole different reason.

Since we had kids we go once a year- in the fall usually. Pre kids we went twice a year or so.
We discovered HH when our oldest was 2 and our youngest was 6 months and that is now our second vacation-every June. :D

I go to Orlando 2 or 3 times a year for a week (7 days) at a time. I do what I refer to as the Disney trip is during the Xmas trip. I usually am there the week before Xmas. This year I will there for Xmas week and the week between Xmas and New Years. I may go to Disney when I first get there as I fear the parks will be too crowded. It will be interesting to see if there is a difference being there during Xmas week compared with the short time before Xmas week. The other times I am down there to relax and get away from home. I usually go to SeaWorld and to visit Kennedy but mostly it is just to be someplace where I don't have to worry about doing anything.

We average 3-4 times per year, with last year being an exception with 7 visits! Believe me, it would be even more often if I lived closer!!!

When I was married I averaged once every 3 years or so because my ex didn't have the same feelings about WDW that I do. He didn't dislike it, but he was never a full fledged WDW fanatic like me.

Now that I am divorced and I don't have to "clear" it with anyone my 2 DD's and I go 3X a year, generally January, May, and September. Our stays are usually 6 days and 5 nights. It's such a nice feeling to say "We don't have to rush, if we don't see it this time we'll be back in 4 months". Ahhhh....
I don't miss the days of Commando Style one bit. I can take time to smell the roses, and absorb the atmosphere in the parks.

But you know what? I know this sounds terrible to those who are only able to go now and then, but sometimes I find even waiting four months between trips is hard! :jumping1:

Do you mean "you" singular or plural? WE (DH and I) go to WDW once a year and in addition, I go solo once a year (around Christmas-he's a Christmas "Scrooge", I call him). So I go twice a year. And in addition, we go to Hilton Head once every year.
