How noisy will a room right over Evolution be?

Well we are booked with our family with two rooms, and using two different travel agents. I am pretty sure our chances are more grim. I did email Disney and there is nothing they can do. Pretty much washed thier hands of this situation with us, since we are with TAs. I guess we could grab some pillows and blankets and sleep out on one of the decks. Still haven't told my family. I can guarentee you though if we are up at 1 am becaue of noise, my inlaws will have someone from guest services in thier cabin at that time. I am going to be upset, but they will be livid.

I'm so tempted to switch to 5650 just for the huge veranda but I'm so afraid we'll get noise from Evolution. We have a room on deck 7 booked but when my husband saw the size of the veranda for 5650 he fell in love with it. Now if I switch and we get that crazy noise I'll never hear the end of it from him.

I would make the move. We went from 5680 which was right over evolution to 5650. It appears to be over the other bars which will be quieter. And that extra veranda space was the shove I needed to move. :rotfl2:

My friends stayed in 5150 and said they did not hear anything from Evolution. :thumbsup2

What category are the room that are above Evolution? I'm a little worried. I have a Cat 5E. Just need to know if I need to bring sleeping pills, ear plugs etc.
thanks

To clarify this, not all 5 aft are directly over Evolution.

The pink zone is the club, it appears it's mostly the 8d's and some of the far aft 5E's on Deck 5 that are directly over it. Others may get some of the effect, but I'd expect distance and bulkheads keep it from spreading out too much.

I snagged 5650 last night. I just couldn't pass up that verandah.

do you mean 8 ds?

I'm in 5174 for the March 3 cruise and it's a 8D. It appears to be right over Evolution, but then again, there's a gray area on that deck 4 port aft section. :confused3 I'll review the stateroom when we get home on 3/6. I've been agonizing over this noise issue since this thread was started, but the ship's full...I have been told that twice since calling DCL to switch rooms, so can't do a thing about it until I get there and go to Guest Services with any issue I may have. I plan to take earplugs, my IPod, some Melatonine in case my boys need it (doubtful), and a positive attitude. If I expect the worst, I may be pleasantly surprised. At any rate, I will give you my honest opinion of Deck 5 aft in about 2 1/2 weeks. :thumbsup2

What I want to know is who's bright idea it was to put FAMILY suites over a freaking dance club? Family suites have ... wait for it ... FAMILIES in them!!!

Amen...There shouldn't be any rooms above Evolution but since there is they should have been solid soundproof. The genius that designed that should have to spend 4 nights in one of the rooms.

Great, I'll be looking for your review. Is there something wrong with me to think that Disney should compensate something for all those who are/may be affected greatly by noise levels at night?

I absolutely agree!!! Somebody dropped the ball here! I hope DCL will do something about these noisy rooms in the future. :scared1:

don't panic yet - friends were on it two wks ago above Evolution and said they never heard a thing. i guess u could stay up all night hopeing for some noise, but remember all the clubs close before 1AM

Heck, no, there's nothing wrong with you for thinking that!!! I will make a very early trip to Guest Services to see if there were last-minute cancellations and possibly be moved to a more geographically desirable stateroom. I don't hold out much hope for this, though. If I can't sleep, there will be follow-up trips to Guest Services. A PP on this thread had the same issue on a recent Dream cruise, went to Guest Services, and was compensated (don't exactly remember what she received). If enough of us complain, they'll have to do something!

This is why I booked Deck 6 instead of Deck 5.....didn't anybody else look at a deck plan before booking? :confused3

It's the poor people who are GTY or who get a pixie dust 'upgrade' to these cabins who I'm sorry for.
