How noisy will a room right over Evolution be?

Oh wow, I just booked 5658, which is really close to evolution too. :sad2: It is right over the restrooms so maybe the noise won't be so bad. I guess if it's really bad I'll have to stay out until it stops. :cool1:

I'm booked into this stateroom too but looking at the map, it's not above Evolution. It's actually above 678 which is the Sports Bar. Hopefully we won't have any noise from Evolution in this location.

we did the Dream for the maiden voyage, and then the cruise right after that. The first room we had #6552 was right about the Buena vista theater- so when they showed Tron till 1 or 2 am we heard it. It sounded like an atari game. It was loud and bassy, but once we figure out it was that and not the ship sinking we were fine. I slept so well on the ship.... it was not a problem (must be the wonderful beds and pillows that whisk you away to sleep).
Our second room was 2042- and we heard different noises there- more like a pump going on and off, and things shuffling (I'm assuming it was below on the staff deck). Again, at first it was concerning, but it did not impact mine or my husband's ability to sleep. (we don't have kids).
We also talked with people who had a room in the Aft (verandah around the level of the flag), and they felt the movement of the engines/rotors in the am when we were pulling into port. It seemed noticable but it didn't seem like anything that kept them from having a good time.
I would do it again, same rooms with no hesitation (noises included).

When we were in the area of the shops on Deck 3 we heard these loud noises and asked one of the passing officers what that was.....he said it was people running on Deck 4....mind you this was later in the night. We figured out on our own that it was the sound system from the BV Theatre when Tron was showing.

So, don't be alarmed if you near the shops and hear this loud rumbling from time to time!! It did not bother us once we figured out what it was.

also on the feb 27th cruise in 5170 - once I am asleep, I sleep like a log. I'm bringing sleeping pills and Looking into buying a sound machine.
I had my TA call dcl. the rep. told my ta she stayed in that area and there was no problem (yeah right)

Luckily, my roommates are younger so they will probably be in evolution all night.

On the DCL web site, if you are booking a 6B room, and click on the "?" icon next to "6B" it pops up a stateroom description which says in part "Staterooms in Category 6B are on Decks 5, 6 and 7, isolated from the sounds and activity of the lower decks." :confused3

We all need to complain. Maybe something might get done. Emai and call.

I'm not booked in one of the noisy bass rooms, but for those of you who are, and are concerned, I agree with the above poster! I think you need to politely voice your concerns (emphasis on the politely!) to Disney directly, asap. If enough word is getting directly to Disney that these rooms are developing a reputation for being too noisy, maybe something will be done!

They might not be able to help you or change your room, but it may help the issue receive attention.

Drat, I was excited to have #5680 in October. Right now I would have to pay to move, why did they NOT take the bass noise into consideration? I wanted that deck for the ease of the kids clubs and just less people traffic in general.

we were on deck 6 (6690) and you could hear evolutions

I would guess these rooms are like those deck 2 on the classic ships under the night club.

Goodness!! Was it extremely loud? We have 6690 and 6692. We are 3 adults and two children almost 18 and 13.
Although we won't be in bed before 12 am, we won't be going to bed too much after. Please give me the truth so I am prepared.

Also, do you, by chance, have ANY pictures of the room or balcony?
Thanks.

Your reservation locked in the pricing for all of the categories at the time you booked the cruise. If you go in now and pull up your reservation then click on modify and bring up the other categories they will show the price the day you booked your room, not the current price, if there are still other rooms available.

I'm in #5666 in October. I too, was very excited to not have to deal with that long "The Shining" hallway like on decks 6-10. Now, I am concerned about having a room over Evolution, but I'll wait and see how the reviews go over the next few months.

Wow thanks for posting this- I never knew that. I figured I was doomed to the category I booked. Since the price has jumped so high I thought I would have to pay the higher price to upgrade.

WOW! Really??? I cruise often, although not on DCL, and although the
price is "locked" for my particular category, I was not aware on DCL it locks it in for "all" categories at the time of my booking. So, on other lines, if the price goes down, I can get credited or OBC, what happens with DCL if price goes down and all categories locked? Thanks so much for your information. I appreciate it.

I'm in a flag/bass room LOL on Deck 6, 6690 and 6692
I appreciate your post. I will go to work tomorrow, do as you show above, and print out the information in case I need to go to Guest Services. There is nothing, really, DCL can do now except perhaps move cabins if avaialble but quite honestly, I booked the two connecting rooms, aft, on purpose using our points. I was very careful on where I wanted to be...hhmmm...Thanks so much!

We *hopefully* had some success in switching my parents stateroom for our sold out 2/27 cruise. My parents were willing to downgrade to a cat 9 stateroom from the 8D 5678 and our TA was able to secure a GTY 9A for them and refund some money to them with the downgrade. So, worst case scenerio, they are still in the same or similar Cat 8D or higher on deck 5 aft, but they were at least refunded some $$ back. Best case, they are outta that deck 5 aft area...and in a 9A or better. We decided it was worth the gamble, and impatiently waiting to get that stateroom assignment:upsidedow

no 6690 is not that loud, only a minor annoying thump.
funny if you step out on the veranda and close the door, you hear nothing

my comment was that the deck 5 rooms, are like the Magic/Wonder deck 2

Also, do you, by chance, have ANY pictures of the room or balcony?
yes I have pictures, but don't have an account to host them

I just found out about it for sure last month. I had heard people say it but when I book a room on the Magic I book where I know I will be happy. I can't do that with the Fantasy and told my TA that was one thing I was nervous about with booking the MV if it turned out that the room I booked got horrible reviews. (Luckily we are in one of the few good rooms listed on deck 5 forward on that warning list.) She told me how the system worked. Last week after the cat we booked increased $1200 along with every other cat I went into my reservation and tried to modify the room cat to see if that was the case. I was happy to see that was exactly what I saw listed for each of the other cats I looked at.

The fact that they got a refund shows this happened for you too. After last week's rise in prices for most cruises if the price wasn't locked in you would have had to pay more. Glad you were able to find them a room in a more desirable area. :thumbsup2

Yeah, I think it's actually right above the restrooms in between the two. I'm sure you'll be able to hear the bass if they can hear it two doors down!

When is your cruise? Whoever goes first can tell the other!

we were in 6690 and we heard the base from evolution every now and then.. more so in the bathroom!

Also, do you, by chance, have ANY pictures of the room or balcony?
