So doing my selections and it would not give me what I wanted as a party of 6 so I did it 1 by 1. Long process and I got Elsa and Anna:cool1:

Downside is I have a conflicting ADR.

Date is Sat Aug 23rd if that matters.

ADR is Crystal Palace at 615pm

I have a 620, 630, 700, 710, 720, 730 start time for our FP+

Figuring an hour for dinner which puts us out at 715 which allows 5 minutes from CP to them to hit our first FP+/

Looked to rebook our ADR and cannot as it conflicts with another FP+

What to do????

You get a grace period of 5 minutes before and 15 minutes after your FP+ window. If you eat fast you can make it. Keep that eye on the watch, and consider going in 2 groups (second group pays... Lol!)

When you get to CP, ask for your check during the meal...don't wait until you're done. That way, you can leave as soon as the last person is done eating. You may have an issue seeing all the characters though. This meal seems to take the longest for characters to make the complete round.

Definitely arrive 15-20 early for CP, hopefully you'll get seated right away, by your ADR time. I like the idea of being prepared to have a couple people start the walk and the last few people finish paying.

But, I don't see what good that would that do.

If the second group arrived too late for the FP+, they don't get to ride.

Yes. This.

hanks for this.

Definitely arriving a bit early and asking for check from the start

I think we will be okay then because one of these is for me and if I miss it that's not a deal breaker but gives FP+ #2 until 745.

Worst case scenerio, just make sure whoever is paying the bill has the later FP+ window. Then if one or two people need to get up early they can do so and just wait for the rest of the party in line.

There have definitely been times that we have not been seated for 20 minutes after our reservation time at CP, especially when our ADR is in the midst of the busy dinner time. I would agree, who ever your latest person is for your A&E FP+, have that be the person who stays to pay. Are you using the dining plan? Are you all on the same account where one person's MB is all that will be required to scan?

We are paying OOP so I will be asking for the check about the time we are seated.

And I didn't pay a lot of attention when I did FP+ as it was late and my DD has the first one. I do not know how to swap peoples names on these as I have 6 time slots and frankly I don't want to do something and lose one. Figure I will just hand her my band.

I don't think the CM will question her as she does look like "Dad":rotfl2:

I am seriously okay with missing A&E but if my kids miss them it would really put a damper on this trip.

You get a grace period of 5 minutes before and 15 minutes after your FP+ window . . .

1) A "grace period" is only a courtesy during "average" crowd levels.
2) The-time-window-is-the-time-window.
3) On busy days, many CM's stick EXACTLY to the window.
4) I have many folks turned away because they missed their window.

NOTE: People forget that FP's regulate the load of the rides. This aids in
maintaining the flow and flow rates. If people could use the FP any time,
during one period there would be fewer FP folks and during other times
there would be huge FP lines. That is why there is a finite amount of FP's
issued per-hour-per-ride.

I really don't understand the idea of not being able to get FP for groups of 4/5/6 but the same window is open for 1 or 2. This happens often enough that the issue couldn't be a hard limit on FPs per window. Unless their algorithms use tiny windows. Maybe one minute? I dunno. It seems strange and another area where FP+ could use some tweaking.

?

Im really surprise you were able to get FP this close to an ADR. I tried and I cant do it.

Have you looked to change the ADR time for crystal palace. Thats a lot of money to have to rush through it.. and I know we didnt even see the characters within that hour-- heck it took me almost 25.minutes past my reservation to be seated.

I see a 4:20 pm reservation-- Is that too early? but the time you sit down and get situated it could be close to 5pm.

I'd be afraid that the first person will miss out on their time frame. Anna & Elsa are different. If they dont give you the 15 minute grace period you could be in trouble

Don't know how I did it but it allowed me and I am not asking about it.

There is a 430 and 820 and 420 is just to dang early for us and 820 just kills the parades as no way we would be done on time for it.

Don't count on getting to use the grace period.

If we don't get the grace period and lose 2 passes then so be it wife and I will miss out.

The 7pm fast pass gives us till 8 which is an 145 dinner time which I think will be fine.

Keep in mind that depending on the rides that you made FP for, if you miss one you may be able to book it right at a kiosk for that same evening.

Or the standby line may not be too long if it's not one of the top attractions that you miss for a few different reasons...

On August 23rd you have a few things going for you.

1 - It's evening and many people will have left after being there for the whole day. Dinner, relax, etc.

2- It's toward the end of August, and many schools start around or by that time so the parks will not be as crowded as as few weeks earlier.

3 - And the biggest reason is that the 23rd is the night of the Villains Party at HS, so there will be a sold out crowd at HS that night which will lessen the crowds at the other parks....

Good luck.
