I know you could go crazy and spend a small fortune but could you give me an example of your budgets? We are a family of 5 , Dh and 3 sons age 11 and twins age 8. We would like to go for more than a week but less than 2 weeks.

A couple of questions for you -- Where do you want to stay? Onsite or off? How many days do you want to go to the parks? -- This will dictate the type of pass that is best. Are you driving or flying? Do you want to eat all meals out or eat at least breakfast in the room?

A lot of different factors go into the budget that are different for everyone.

We drive so we take a lot of food, water, pop with us. We also have a car fridge that works in the room as well so we eat our breakfast in the room. We also take lunches/snacks into the park. If we eat out it's usually dinner which costs around $50 for the two of us if we go to a sit down restaurant at WDW.

Hotels can really vary. We've stayed as low as $47/night at All Star Sports to around $100/night for CBR. We are spurgling this trip with one night at AKL for $240/night (still hoping for AP rates!). With 5 in the family though you are limited in your room choice as the value resorts are only 4 to a room so you'd need two rooms.

Passes can be expensive. We opted for annual passes as we are going twice in a year and using them for more than 8 days which is roughly the break even point.

We've spent around $1000 US for a 10 days including the drive down and back (not including passes as we had left over days) to around $2500 US including the purchase of annual passes.

This is for the two of us.

We've discovered that a lot of the difference in our budgets are meals. We either go really cheap or splurge on this item.

Hope this helps a little bit.

We are also a family of 5. Like others will tell you so much factors into the difference in budgets. In April we stayed in a condo for $261 US for the week. This trip we are staying at HRH and WL for a total of $2000.We have our passes left from last trip so big expense spared. Airfare $900 CDN. Rental car around $450 CDN. Food usually runs us about $1200 US for the week and we love our souvineers and budget $500 just for those.

If this is your first trip and you want lots of info...Get the book called "Unofficial Guide to WDW"

I think that you can do a trip for $2500 or $10000...It all depends on how you manage money...

If you want any help, I could call you some night and we can talk about it or get together for a coffee...Thanks to someone I met here on the DIS, I got tons of info before my first trip with then Boyfriend now husband...

If there is anything I can do let me know.:wave2:
