How much do you tip Mousekeeping?

Now as far as Holiday In Express having pre-made envelopes -- Ugh, I am soooooo against that. I don't think it's cute, I find it completely tacky. Based upon the last HIE I stayed in just three weeks ago, I think they should worry more about cleaning the mildew out of the shower than having their hand out looking for a gratuity.

This may simply be an attempt to clarify just when money left in the room is actually okay for the housekeeper to take. Staff may be told only to take the envelopes!

If I stay one night at any hotel or motel, I tip nothing. If I am on vacation or business for extended stay at one location for more than one night, I tip $2.00 per person per day. I am always amazed at how soon my room gets cleaned when I tip.

We normally tip mousekeeping anywhere between $10-15 per day.

$5 a day if you get good service. Our last trip at CRS wasn't so good. No soap had to chase her for that & towels. I hate that.

That would not make us very happy. Having to chase them down for the items that should already be in your room.

We weren't happy. So when we saw a cart we took 2 towels each so we would have them. Who wants to get out of the shower with no towel.
