I work for a major aerospace firm in the factory and mine are $56.80. Ours are based on the average hourly wage of the union members.

DH's are around $38 and his police department is not part of a collective bargaining unit. So we are paying purely for legal representation should he ever need it and some life insurance perks

City municipal employee...$52.00 per mo.

TC:cool1:

hubbys are $13.00 every 2 weeks.

My husband pays approximately $200 per quarter. It changes with how many retirees they have and how much benefits go up or down.

We pay nearly $500 every 3 months for my husbands job.

I'm clueless when it comes to union but what do you get for $300.00 month. That's pretty steep?

Mine doesn't get much for the $26 a month but even if you dont join they still deduct the dues but a little less.

DH is in the Plumbers and Pipefitter's union (even though he is neither a plumber or a pipefitter ~ he's an HVAC-R mechanic!) and he pays $150 a month.

Are you sure that isn't per quarter? It's a little under that in three months here.
ETA. LOL, I underestimated, it's more like $4240 per year or $350 per month. (about $80 comes out of his weekly paycheck and he also pays $400 in annual additional dues)

Um, what do we get? Well, they have an excellent apprenticeship and continuing educational program. That is honestly the best thing about our union, IMHO. They do an excellent job trying to maintain a competitive educational standard.

Plus we get tons of fancy, colorful brochures around election time...the union reps love to tell us who to vote for. (a wee little sarcasm coming from the republican wife of a union worker;))

When I retired 2 years ago I was paying $16 a week. DH works for the same company and his are $28 a week.

Nope, it's about $3500 per year.

Holy Crap. We have our own school (own a huge piece of land), fancy brochures, a nice chunk of property near downtown Chicago, and all the BAs lease new cars (at least last I heard) but we're still closer to $250 per three months. Do your brochures play music when you open them or something?

LOL, I'm surprised they haven't thought of that. I'll have to tell my DH to suggest that up at the next meeting. ;) (You'll have to recheck my previous post- I underestimated- he pays $4200 per year)

our BAs live pretty comfy lives, from what I have seen.

sounds like us! We have gotten so many stupid magnets, flyers, etc recently Our contract is up in September so they keep giving us stuff to let us know what we want on our contract. They even gave us a little bank to save our loose coins for if we go on strike. Couldn't the money be used better towards union pay for us IF we go on strike?
