How much are your union dues a month?

I work for the state and I think I pay $12 or $13 per month.

I think our union dues for the 2007 tax year were about $820. I'm a teacher.

DH pays about $5000 a year. For this we get health, dental, vision and hearing insurance for a family of six, his pension, and his annuity, as well as his yearly wage increase and any other benefits the union lobbies for.

I'm a teacher and I pay 46.90 per pay (every two weeks). Our dues are based on our salary so that amount will change teacher to teacher in our district.

Holy Crap. We have our own school (own a huge piece of land), fancy brochures, a nice chunk of property near downtown Chicago, and all the BAs lease new cars (at least last I heard) but we're still closer to $250 per three months. Do your brochures play music when you open them or something?

We probably pay less in Chicago because the membership is huge (134 right).

DH is an Stationary Engineer, local 399 man, and we pay $104 a month.

My husband is also a union electrician and we pay about $200+ per quarter. He does also pay "working dues" out of his paycheck; however, this seems to be paid more by the employer (it is shown on his paycheck but it's not really a payroll deduction--weird I know).

Wow.

I have to update the list of the most profitable professions.

1) Government
2) Church/cult
3) Union

In some parts of the world, all three are the same!

I pay $7.50/week. Soon to go up, since our local just finished mediation with the town. That cost a small fortune!

$41.20 each pay day(bi-weekly)- Kindergarten teacher in a city funded day care center

Our salary is awful, but the benefits are awesome.
