How much are your property taxes?

About $8,000 for a 5,000 sq ft house just north of Boston...............

This year they were just over $2000. But our lovely county just passed a 70% :guilty: increase to be phased in over the next three years. That means they will be over $3400. DH & I had already discussed moving in the next two years. That certainly has me on board with that decision.

$3,900 this year.
5,000 sq ft house, 1 acre, city water in, septic out.

$3850 for 1650 sq ft. on 1.6 acres in CT. However, our home was just reassessed for almost $30k more AND the school board is trying to pass a bond measure to remodel all three grade schools in our region (district). I don't even want to think about how much our taxes are going to cost in two or three years... double, maybe? :scared1:

$4800 for 2000 square foot house with finished basement on one acre in southern NJ.

This year, they're around $4800 for a 1/4 acre, 1800 sq ft. cape. Next year, they're going to over $6000, b/c I recently got reassessed and nailed. Long Island, NY

We live in NJ, but I have no clue what we pay in taxes. I could not come within a $1,000 of the figure if my life depended on it; DW takes care of all that. And I don't want to know.

$2600 for an 850sf condo - but that's going to go up soon

Approx $3500 for a 3300sf house +3 car garage on 6 acres.

$3000 for a 1600 sf duplex on 1/4 acre

I think ours is right at $1100. That is for around 1750 sq ft on a 3/4 acre lot. We are in south GA

One of the major differences may be what is included versus what isn't included. For example, our taxes don't include water, sewer, street maintenance, nor snow plowing of the streets (and previously didn't include trash removal).

Can't believe how much of you folks with condo's pay---wow!!!

Anyway, here in New Jersey, our new home, which we go to settlement on the 28th of this month will be at $14,600 for 5 acres, 6000 sq. foot home with 6 bedroom, 5 1/2 bath. The home also has a basement that is an additional 2,300 sq feet, so we will carefully have to finish that, so we don't get dinged with additional taxes on that. There are some rules about heating and cooling systems down there that throw it into the taxable side.

On our present home, 2500 sq ft., 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 bath, 1/4 acre lote, we pay $5800 a year in taxes.

What's really shocking about these condos is that our taxes doubled in less than six years (because our property values doubled since the original assessment six years ago). One of these little condos sold for a half of a million dollars.
